Five Star Pool

Five Star did an outstanding job. The time duration for this project was about four weeks, which could have been a little faster but weather slowed it down. Roman was very helpful before and during the process. He is very knowledgeable about all aspects of the demolition and construction phases since had actual done the work in the past. Roman is very approachable and fair. His main concern is a happy customer and a job well done. Andrea his inside sales and administrator is just as good. She follows up with all requests in a timely manner and is always upbeat. Communications is very good and return calls and emails are usual done the same day. His support staff and subs were also very good. I did have some problems that need to be addressed and they also were done in a timely manner. All in all a great experience and best of all the end result is just terrific.

It was a wonderful experience. Roman the owner is a pleasure to work with. His employees take pride in their work and are true craftsmen. The pool and pavers are perfect. They showed up when they were supposed to and they worked hard. I can not think of anything that they could improve.

This is a PROFESSIONAL company. Roman Huf (813 792 7665, mobile 813 528 3696, INFO@FIVESTARPOOL.COM) is creative in his solutions, professional in his business, talented in hiring for best possible results, skillful in appropriate supervision, exhibits integrity and ethical practices and is excellent in customer interaction. I actually joined Angies List just to be able to express my admiration for Roman and the job he and his company performed for us. (My experience with Florida contractors rarely ends with such stellar results.) The problem was complex in that one end of the pool had risen apx. 3 inches out of the ground. The pool now appears more appealing than its original appearance and is a selling feature for the property. This was achieved within the time estimated for repairs and within the quoted cost. Throughout the process, Roman, as well as every employee, was more than willing to explain where they were in the effort and why certain things were being done. I am a female and never felt hesitation in dealing with me because of gender - from any representative of Five Star Pools. A small issue arose almost one year after completion of the effort. When I called Roman he did not hesitate (after appropriately checking the contract for expiration dates of warrantied work) to schedule the small repair needed. In fact going above required work to insure corrections were perfect. My trust in him was such as a result of the initial work that I never doubted he would stand by his work. These people really do care about their customers and their business. Right from the beginning Roman the owner was always available for any questions, and Andrea his office person represents the customer well. Always with a pleasant demeanor. They did a great job.

Roman came out within a few days of my initial call and at the time we agreed. This was after 4pm to accommodate my work schedule. He took approximately half an hour to take measurements and prepare the estimate, which I received within a day or two. The quote was one of the lowest I received. In the end, I decided on another company but I would not hesitate to go with 5-star in the future.

Roman responded immediately and came to our home within a day or two to provide an estimate. He came on time and was very professional, informative and friendly throughout the entire process. His entire team was responsive, professional and courteous. Andrea was great at the showroom helping us with samples and assisting with making our selections. Everton worked single handedly with our tile, coping and pavers. He is a perfectionist, very skilled and takes great pride in his work. The team that resurfaced the pool and their workmanship were amazing! We also converted to saltwater. Roman and his team were with us every step of the way, happy to answer any questions we had. I would highly recommend Five Star pools.

Five Star Pool was fantastic to work with. I found Roman and his team on Angie's List and he came out within a couple of days to provide a quote. I received an additional three quotes from other suppliers. Five Star was the most reasonable and they were very easy to work with. Andrea worked diligently to find the exact match to the existing pavers. Once matched, the pavers were delivered and work began within 24 hours. Washington came out and installed the entire patio within 3 days. It is gorgeous. Exactly what we wanted! I will recommend Five Star to anyone and certainly use them again. Bravo to a great local company!

Extremely happy with Roman and his workers. One small pet peeve was the ones that smoked left butts scattered throughout the job and that annoys me being a non smoker and pretty vigilant about maintaining my yard. The first crew that did the coping work were extremely nice, clean with their work and really precise. I think with their work, it started off the job right. The pavers did quick work, with needing a little coaxing to get the variety of pavers in a random pattern since we only had three colors to work with. They were the crew smoking (once again, a personal pet peeve that has nothing to do with the job quality). The pool was refinished soon after the pavers and the color and finish came out amazing. I even hired Roman to have an addtiional crew come out for pump repairs since I was so happy. Roman was the second lowest bid, but had GREAT reviews on Angie's List, as well as photos and referrals to back it up. I was happy showing my pool off to another person looking for reviews of Roman's work and will continue to do so. If possible I will post pictures.

Roman & his guys pulled up all the existing (very heavy) 24x24 tiles on the balcony deck, removed all sand underneath them, replaced it with cement topping, corrected the balcony's slope, replaced & then grouted the tiles. I was very impressed with how carefully & cleanly they worked. They hauled everything up & down in buckets over the side of the balcony so as not to track stuff all over inside the house. It was very difficult to pull up all the tiles without breaking them, but they were able to do it so that we did not have to worry about locating & buying more of these uncommon tiles. All the guys were really friendly, polite, professional, and hard working. We had big time constraints & really needed to get the job done quickly -- Roman was able to start right away & got the job finished fast. They worked late into the evening to get it all done for us in time. We would most definitely use Roman & his guys again and will recommend them to other people!

It looks beautiful! Roman was just awesome! Every time we called him he got back to us within 24 hours. He answered all our questions. It was a good experience. They completed the work in about 2 weeks. I would recommend them to anyone! Even after the work was done, we called him with questions and he was very responsive. He has integrity in his work. He was so nice.

Estimate & Contract: Roman arrived on the scheduled date and was on time. After signing the contract we communicated several times and he was quick to return with information, samples, etc. He was patient with all of my questions and came by twice with samples of coping, tiles and pavers. I appreciated that because you don?t want to make a design mistake with this type of project. Work: This was an interesting process, having never seen a pool ?repair? accomplished (or not ever seeing a new one installed). Each component of the project is specialized, so a different person came for each part of the job. The work did not occur on sequential days; there were days when no one was on site, but that was due to either weather or time for mortar/grout to cure (at least I assumed the mortar/grout had to cure having been involved in laying tile inside our house). First the pool worker came out to drain the pool and chisel out around intakes, light, etc. and his work took two days. For 12 days (not contiguous days), the tile/coping/paver installer was on site meticulously installed the coping, cap tile (just under the coping) and the pavers. He was very methodical and, even though I didn't ask any questions, I learned a lot just by occasionally watching his method. Next the plumber (Roger) was out to replace the pump and reconfigure the pipes, etc. (they were difficult to maneuver around so we had them moved slightly to accommodate a little more space). Roger did a superb job re-configuring the pipes and moving the pump. We now have a reasonable amount of space to walk through to the side of the house. We also converted to a salt chlorinator which was installed by Roger and the old chlorine tablet dispenser was removed. The pool guys came back out to put on the permacoat and to drain the accumulated water from the pool (it rained a few times during the process). A team of workers were on site to install the new pebble surface on the pool (Premix marbeltite Freestone) and they did this in one day so there would be a consistent curing of the surface; this was also an interesting process. With the exception of the plumber, only one process was being done on site at a time; which is the way it has to be done. The last process was to prepare the pool and Marie Kelly was on site several times to monitor the chemicals and work on conditioning the new pool surface. We did decide to have the pavers coated with an acrylic top coat, but in retrospect I?m not sure of the value. I don?t think it wears particularly well over time nor do I think it added any significant protection to the pavers. I believe it was installed properly and I am very happy with the work that Marie did, both in preparing/conditioning the pool and applying the paver coating. Originally we had contracted only to have the pool work done, but during the process we also contracted with Roman to install the same pavers on our front entrance and to widen the driveway on both sides. We had quite a few pavers left over from the pool decking and Roman used those to reduce the cost of the front entrance, which I did appreciate. We also had these pavers coated with the acrylic as well. This is just my opinion, but the value of the paver coating product does not warrant the cost. We did have some issues with a leak, following the pump installation, and with the salt chlorinator. It took some time going back and forth with communication on both issues, for a variety of reasons (lots of phone tag, etc.). The leak was repaired but we were unable to find the issue with the salt chlorinator. Roman had the salt chlorinator tested and we?re still not sure why there is a discrepancy in the readings, but it is generating chlorine. We consider both issues to be resolved to our satisfaction. The work was estimated for 4 weeks and was completed within that time frame. There was additional time when we were deciding on colors, etc. for the job and, of course, there was rain, etc.; this is not included in the 4 weeks so the overall project actually took longer. As far as I?m concerned the workmanship is exceptional and the price was reasonable for the scope of this project. I?d been waiting 10 years to get my once hideous pool & decking redone, so while it was sometimes excruciating to have to be patient to get it done right, it was well worth the wait. It is hideous no more; it is a beautiful place to enjoy family & friends.

After several estimates Roman had the lowest. He is pleasant and easy to work with. We had no contact or communication issues during this project. He provides great knowledge and advice. I was particularly impressed with his paver Helio Pinto. Helio worked very hard non stop and was very meticulous.

Roman came out and provided a same-day written estimate. The price was excellent. I had several other companies come out who were no where near as thorough investigating the cause of the crack in my pool. Roman's fiberglass guy came out and well-pointed the pool which turned out to be a lot more work than expected. After the pool was drained, I watched as they sanded down the cracked area and repaired basically the entire deep end of my pool. Its been 6 months now and everything is holding up great. I highly recommend Five Star Pools.

Roman delivered the pump early Saturday and let me know that Roger would be installing it that afternoon. He arrived did the job, and found we also had a bad wire that he needed to replace. He was very polite and professional. Our new pump is working great! I would be happy to recommend them to all, and will use them to fix some other things in the future.

Roman sent Jason over to address the problem and fix it. He arrived on time and was extraordinary in his knowledge and ability. There is nothing Jason does not know or cannot repair when it comes to pools. The end result was better than expected because he shaved down a tile to fill the area being repaired so that it was more visually appealing. The original size of the tile would have been too big. He made it look great! I would never let any other company touch my pool because five star pool is that talented. Rest assured that this is the company for all your pool repairs, resurfacing etc.

Roman was wonderful!! We had originally hired another company that did not deliver on their promises. When Roman came to our rescue our pool was empty. We were very gun shy and Roman was patient, helpful and professional in always. From start to finish he and his crew did amazing job. Matter of fact it turned out better then we even imagined and we are very picky. I can not say enough about this company!! We have done a total home renovation and Five Star Pools is our top vendor.

From the first phone call, meeting for the estimate, and throughout the entire process to completion, Roman was outstanding to work with. During the estimate meeting, he provided some great ideas on new tile placement that came out really great, and offered ideas and solutions that other pool companies didnt want to be bothered with. He kept us informed during the entire job and would return calls right away to answer any questions. His work was meticulous and he pays high attention to detail. The pool came out great AND was completed on time. 5 Star Pool is a fantastic pool company to work with!

They came in. The owner was fantastic. He did a better job than we could have ever asked for. We were very pleased with his work. The owner took me to another one of his job to see his work. He let me check the sealant so I could pick out the best for my property. He did a beautiful tile job that other companies would not touch. Everyone that worked on the project was very professional and reasonable. He gave us more than we asked for. We highly recommend him.

The owner, Roman Huff, came out the same week I requested a quote. I told him I was seeking several quotes and that I was hoping to make a decision in two weeks and expected the work to be done by the end of May. I received his quote within days via email. Two weeks later I awarded him the work and he scheduled the job for May as requested. He called a few days before the work was to start and advised me of what to expect. They came out and drained the pool. The next day they preped the pool and bond coated it. Two days later (it was a weekend) a four-man crew came and resurfaced the pool. It took nearly a day and a half to fill my pool as I have very low water pressure. When the pool was filled they came to balance the chemicals. The pool looks great (just like new). I would highly recommend this company's work. They were very professional, kept my yard clean, and were very prompt.

resurface of 18 year old marcite pool with marbleite freestone. pool was drained and preped in one day. new surface was installed with only minor cleanup issues which were promptly resolved by 5 Star owner Roman Huf. pool startup was conducted by very knowledgeable staff This was a pleasent experience from start to finish .Roman Huf is pleasure to work with, very conserned with costumer satisfaction. I would strongly suggest using for 5 star for any pool projects.

Roman was punctual, charged a fair price, and did excellent work. Furthermore, he was very helpful in choosing materials and solving any problems that arose. I appreciated that he sent email updates on the work as well.

I left a message with the owner and got a call back the next day. He stopped over and looked at our pool and gave us advice. The owner is very professional and knowledgable. He e-mailed us his proposals and we decided to go with draining the pool. The workman came a few days later to get the pool drained. My only complaint (which I talked to the owner about) is that the worker went to the back yard where the pool is and entered the enclosed lanai area without my knowing he was there. I was a bit startled as I walked by and noticed him. He was not wearing a company shirt and he did not have a company truck. He did identify himself and got to work. He arrived later than I had expected. The owner came to look at the results and helped us by adding salt and a couple of other chemicals to get the pool up to speed. The pool looks great.

One worker took a few days to drain, clean and prep the pool, chipping out weak areas of old marcite and regrouting the tiles. Next a large crew applied the new surface, a pebble finish, in one day. Took another day to refill, then another person came for a few days to "hot prep" the pool by adding acid and brushing regularly. We then continued to monitor pH levels, adding acid as necessary and brushing a few times a week for a month. The owner was very attentive, explained the process clearly and resolved some minor issues quickly. We had chosen a mid-range blue tint, but after looking at it determined we could have even gone darker.
