L&D Renovations LLC

I bought the Big Deal in January and I called them before the expiration date, but we couldn't get together, so they said don't worry about the expiration date. They came and did the job although it didn't take 4 hours of the Big Deal offer. They also referred me to a leak detector to detect a leak in the ceiling. I liked them and had confidence in their ability, so I got an estimate for pressure washing and painting my entire house.

Donnaugh and L&D Renovations was very helpful in meeting with us to discuss options for a complete master bathroom renovation. She was very responsive and patient in working with us through the process. She provided several detail designs and associated quotes as we evaluated various options. We would have been comfortable using L&D but in the end selected another Angie's List contractor we preferred more.

The folks from L & D Renovations were punctual, professional, very competent, pleasant, well-spoken, etc. They were everything we have come to expect from vendors associated with Angies List. * Note to Angie's List; I couldn't seem to find a link to the Page of Happiness. If I could have, I would have used it for this vendor.

Initial estimate was given but when team showed up to preform the requested services, they were not able to complete all the work discussed. Also, supplied materials but information provided up front did not help in having the appropriate items. Did offer to go an pick up items for us during the service time.

They were awesome; they came in and got it done. They were nice and professional and I will definitely use them again. They were honest. There were three of them and they started their own projects and then they would come around and help each other. It was such a pleasant atmosphere with them and the quality of their work was very well.

The job that I bought the deal for they were unable to do as it would have taken more time and material. I wanted them to install a counter in a laundry room. They did come and put a shelf in a laundry room and they did a little plumbing work. They installed some faucets and they did do a good job with that. They were a very nice team of people to work with. I would use them again.

Overall, we were very satisfied. Have called them to come out and do more work.

They were very easy to schedule with an online calendar and a couple of emails. They gave me a reminder call the day before, showed up exactly on time, and got right to work... finished almost everything on a long list and did a great job. They are a Mom-and-Pop (and nephew) crew, so were very good with the teamwork. They made some good suggestions about how to get some other jobs taken care of. I could not be more pleased!

Scheduling was an issue at first, only because of heavy response to the Angie's List special offer. Donnaugh worked with me to schedule at my convenience and was very professional throughout the process. They arrived at the scheduled time, and all work was done expediciously and professionally. Cleanup was thorough, and I was very satisfied with all the work done.

Demo work was done on a Thursday afternoon - wall dried out and mold remediated on Fri - rebuilt the cabinet over the week-end... replaced and closed up on Monday - all set!... L&D did a great job - appropriately priced and thorough. Would hire them again... and recommend them as well.

They are very friendly, professional, and a pleasure to have in your home. The electrical work and custom doors all look great. Before painting I had to sand one of the doors a bit because it stuck, but they had already put in some overtime for us, so I won't complain. I would hire again.

I do not have any other comments to add except to say I would absolutely hire them again.

By herself, Donnagh first painted the molding that she brought and then started to paint the room. She finished painting a door and then the top of the walls along the ceiling. She installed the molding, making sure the corners were even. Finally she painted the rest of the room and reviewed areas to make sure that she didn't miss anything. She even installed newly purchased curtain rods. She was there for nearly 12 hours, barely taking a break.

They came to accomplish a list of tasks and they did just that. When they arrived, they went through the list of tasks that I wanted done. A couple of things I needed could not be accomplished in the time frame allowed, however, it was clearly stated upfront. I appreciated their flexibility and how they jumped and started right in. I went to gather a couple of things they needed from the hardware store, but they continued on with the things that they could work on. They completed the tasks, cleaned up, and left within the time slot. I was so pleased with their work and efficiency that I have requested an estimate on a couple of other things.

The renovation took longer than expected only because of delays in getting some of the fixtures and waiting a bit longer for certain things to dry. Donnagh laid out what we would need to buy and she accommodated us as we changed some things. If there was a problem that arose, they fixed it. And they always cleaned up at the end of the day. No complaints about the process.

Company nevcer responded back to an email describing the work to be done and to provide an estimate or call/email back to discuss an estimate.

Donnagh was nice enough to schedule my appointment on a holiday that I was off work. I was hoping to have tile in my shower recaulked. She was concerned there may be damage behind the tiles and suggested I get that checked out before recaulking was done. I really appreciated her honesty. I told her I would call her back after I had the shower checked for mold. Due to personal issues, I haven't been able to take care of it yet. Donnaugh was very knowledgeable and helpful. I would certainly trust her work and call her company again.

When they arrived they looked at the two bathrooms that I wanted cleaned. After looking them over they told me that they could not clean the grout and that the walls would have to be completely redone. I was not happy that they didn't do the work that was stated in the Big Deal.

Some of this has been answered in the response above. All of the work was well executed. My main problem with the business was this- I had many many things to do that day, in connection with the marketing of my deceased mother's house as well as other matters. I was in and out of my own house frequently during the course of this work (which was outside work). Athough I was paying for four hours of work by two people, every time I returned to the house one or the other worker (mostly the husband) was on the phone. One time the two workers were just standing in the front yard yakking when I drove up. Additionally, about three times when I was home the relative asked to use the restroom and didn't come out for about 20 minutes. He did not appear to be ill, and I suspect what was happening was that he was in there with his phone texting or whatever. When the wife was there both men stayed busy but she left them that morning and then did not return until toward the end of the work. When the cat is away.... There was additional work with landscape timbers in the backyard which did not get started. Although they might not have finished all the work we had discussed with steady work, I think they could have made serious headway into the backyard work. Although everyone is entitled to some breaks during work, especially outside work, I do not feel that I got the amount of work that I paid for, and I feel that a chunk of the work I paid for was used to conduct business or personal activities by phone. I would use this company again because the quality of work done was fine, but I would be sure that I would be there the whole time, and would insist that the phones be left in the truck except during reasonable breaks.

highly recommend and would gladly call them again and again, felt very comfortable with them in my home, felt they had very high standard - ethics.

L&D Renovations did handyman jobs around our house that we just hadn't had the time to get to in the last year: Secured lifting boards from our backyard deck cleaned and stained deck Put up two motion sensor flood lights Installed Light housing by front door They took time and care with each job and made sure we were happy with the end result prior to leaving. We will use them again and recommend them to friends and family.

We called for an estimate on hanging a new door for a slightly odd sized doorway. The response was prompt and the person who came out to the house was professional. The estimate was higher than the other estimate we received, so we decided not to engage L&D, but I would certainly call them again to estimate future work.

I waited months for their to be time on their schedule. They claimed to be so overbooked from the Angies List Promotion. I finally received an appointment. The appointment was re-scheduled. They came at a different time unannounced from any of the appointments made. They worked on the shower for several hours correcting the grout. They went to Home Depot to get the grout. They told me not to use th shower for 2 days and left. When we used the shower on the third day, there were holes in the grout repair that was done.

They replaced all the outlets in my home. They came out and completed the job in a timely manner. They were prompt and showed up on time. Everything turned out fine and I was satisfied with there work. There was no hidden cost as we agreed on the cost up front.

Overall they were excellent in services and really good overall.
