WE ARE FULLY LICENSED AND INSURED FOR THE PROJECTS THAT WE HAVE WORKED ON. IF IT REQUIRES A STATE CERTIFIED & LICENSED PERSON, THEN I BRING ONE IN… ALL LICENSES; INSURANCE & CERIFICATIONS ARE UP TO DATE AND AVAILABLE FOR ANY MEMBER UPON REQUEST… First I would like to apologize to any Member that is reading this review. I feel that I need to address this Member’s OUTRIGHT SLANDEROUS & MISAPPROPRIATE review. I will reply to each as written by this Member. For this Member and her husband, being Police Officers they should know the laws of this county and State… We did nothing to any load-bearing wall except to remove mold and replace a window. At no time, was the original header modified. Bathroom remodel: This Member requested that we remove an existing large bathroom window and replace it with a smaller window because she felt that men were watching her shower. No size was specified so we purchased a smaller stock window from Lowe’s. This window was installed, the bathroom had already been gutted and the existing window removed. The Member requested that we turn the window sideways because it looked too skinny. We have now completed the tub-hop tile (4 days later-marble) and that is when the Member told us that her husband did not like that window and that we needed to get one that matched her master bathroom window. After many unsuccessful calls to manufacturers, we made the decision to purchase the same dimensions, however a better quality. In short, Lowe’s screwed up and wasted 2 weeks of time. The Member then went to Home Depot and placed an order with them. Since it was our responsibility to purchase, we did so as per the specs that the Member provided Home Depot. Another 2 weeks wasted – incorrect window. I then went back to Lowe’s, reordered and this time- window; correct. Now we can complete the window tile & grout. After refusing us backing her house to complete as per the contract, she DEMANDED another refund (explained below) so we had no alternative but to accept her last payment because we were afraid that she wasn’t going pay the balance. She already sucked our company for $500+ as well as our Plumber for $500. As for getting what you wanted, this became a joke within our Subs daily because when this Member would change something it always had to be because “her sister said so because that’s what her sister wanted or better yet, my sister is an interior decorator” Everything was the “sister” and more funny than that, her “sister” didn’t even live there. There was no damage to any part of her property in fact; every time we left her house it was in a cleaner condition than when we met it. Overall Grade: D In regards to my subs, all of them are fully licensed, insured and some are even bonded. This is so typical of a Cop. Profiling people when they don’t know the situation. Maybe they don’t dress to your standards or speak proper English, but they are Humans and they deserve to be treated as such. As for my Plumber, he is a Stated Certified Plumber that has been in the business for over 35 years. No complaints from any other of the HUNDREDS of jobs that he has done for my Customers. Price: Donnagh does talk a GOOD game because Donnagh has over 25 years of experience in residential renovations. Many Customers/Members will vouch that I DO NOT accept a project if my company is not capable or licensed to do. When they ask about plumbing, electrical etc., I ALWAYS state that I will have to bring in that certain State-Certified person. As our motto states, we deliver; professionalism, integrity, honesty and fairness. We always tell a Customer/Member before we leave on our last day, “please call us if you have any problems or concerns”. Some calls us and some right reviews like this. We have always offered a 1 year warranty on our labor… This Member was actually quoted $250.00 for the drywall texture & paint to match, however, she said she would texture and paint so it was knocked down to $100.00. She was quoted for Tile and she upgraded to Marble. ($4.50 per sq. ft. - $10.95 per sq. ft. plus additional labor) She was quoted for a “standard” bathtub and purchased an oversized one. (Additional parts and labor for Plumber) As for the bathroom paint, this was an add-on. We requested Valspar and she brought in Behr. (Applied 3 coats -apples to oranges) Grout: That is correct, but we were going to re-grout on our last trip but we were not given the chance. Drywall mess: Again, not given a chance to correct. Wood ledge: Because of the mold that we found, I made the decision to purchase PVC shelving. Now while installing it, my Husband, Leo, L of L&D found that the 2 walls were not plum (surprise – Florida) so Leo did his best and caulked in only an 1/8” gap, however her “sister” didn’t like it so we had to tear it out and start again but this time with blonde wood. (Add’t cost) Her husband approved it but the complaint now came from her “brother”. Window Problems: Explained above – Window size was actually 19” x 26”. Installed wall cabinet with screws: Where would I have put them; all at the top of the cabinet with none on the bottom? Really? Responsiveness: Door was realigned; Weather stripping installed but did not let us complete the installation of the door sweep. Comment about she doesn't know better?: I do know what’s best especially with County & State laws, codes and regulations, but when it comes to people such as yourself who think they know it all but instead, “do not know their head from a hole in the ground”, it makes it very difficult. Professionalism: Lack of tools: We carry over $9,000.00 in tools. Several trips to the store: Several changes and dislikes from the “sister” Donnagh/Fridge: YOU ARE A FRIGGIN LIAR! You came home one day and I asked you if I could grab a bottle of water from the case in the “HOT” garage and YOU were the one that offered my daughter and me a drink. You also told us that your husband puts the bottled water in the bottom drawer of the fridge and that we could help ourselves. (I did help myself to ONE piece of candy from the candy jar) Garage Clean-up Supplies: A part of our team cleans houses and we are always carrying cleaning supplies and rags with us, Lysol to boot! Lysol was only used on the bathtub interior & the marble cleaner was purchased at Lowe’s to clean the floor. Wastebasket – Aha! We did clean up! They needed my dustpans: Aha! Again, we cleaned up and because they have NEW cherry wood floors, we preferred to use theirs instead of our metal one. Fan: Was credited on her invoice, and she still has the fan. Drop clothes and/or booties were used daily. In Closing: We regret accepting this project. We lost money on this one! I have “before and after” pictures. If a Member would like to see them, please do not hesitate to contact us with that request. As to the bathtub, I guarantee that it did not come from L&D Renovations or their Subs. The cardboard that was used to cover the floor and the new tub (Taking care and pride in our work) was the template from the bathtub and the boxes from the tile. With a young boy and lots of toys, one would never know. Additional Questions Answered: Higher than estimate: (Upgraded to Marble; Changes and additions) Schedule the work? 1-2 weeks – (7 days) Contractor? Willing to stay till job was done-but I decided to end the job-things had just gone too poorly. (Too much of sister’s 2 cents: Too many changes and additions) Lack of professionalism-lack of quality!! (A False Statement –Check out the rest of our reviews. There are some people that NO ONE can please. Words of advice? Writing Down & Extra Billing: (Customer’s approval of Proposal; Invoice states, “any add’t costs will be due upon completion; Upgrade to Marble; Changes and add-ons) I've got to get going. I've got a bathroom to finish: Don’t forget to call your sister. Attached pictures: Over all pic – Not complete; still waiting for window Exposed Screws: Cheap Cabinet; fall off wall; My Insurance Splinters – Just installed; At Lunch; not sanded, caulked-in or painted Drywall Mess: Easier to remove off cheap furniture when dried Taped Off – 3 Paint Pics: Painted walls first: Had not painted trim yet as the walls needed to dry first Fan: Offered to clean & I was refused and still provided a credit and they have the fan Now, MY COMPLAINT WITH ANGIE”S LIST. They do not care about their Service Providers as they claim. It is 100% Members. After we receive a review, we are only permitted to write our side of the story. There is nowhere available for us to provide PROOF such as “before and after” pics or Members satisfaction of project in their own hand writing on our invoices, etc. Angie, you need to show a little more fairness to the Service Providers, because without us, there would be no YOU!
