We were very pleased with how smoothly & quickly our kitchen & bathrooms were transformed. For the electrical & new kitchen countertops we worked with other providers recommended by Craftsmen Service Co. & we were very impressed with them as well. Craftsmen Serv. Co. coordinated the project very well & they were considerate about keeping our facilities down time to a minimum. It was a pleasure to work with this family owned business.

Bill who came out was on time and professional. He explained the process and gave me information on companies to purchase materials from. Stated it should be an easy job and he would send me an estimate via email. That was almost two weeks ago. I called the company (there was no answer, so I left a message) and explained I had not received my estimate and wanted to make sure they had my correct information in order to contact me. Still have not received the estimate or even a returned phone call. Very disappointed.

We moved into a new condo at the end of April, and really hated the formica counter tops and tile back splash (who puts bathroom tiles in a kitchen anyway?) that came with the unit. So we decided to redo the counters, the sink, faucet, disposer, and back splash. So after calling a few places for estimates we decided to go with Craftsman. Matt came out and did preliminary measurements of our kitchen. Within about a week he provided a written estimate for both materials and labor. We purchased most of the materials on our own, so the price listed here was mostly for labor only, but boy did Matt and his brothers Adam and Luke do a fantastic job for us. Matt was always responsive and professional when we asked him questions or had concerns. The work took place between July 1st (demo) and July 9th (finished sealing the back splash), so we were thrilled that they were able to fit our job in around a holiday weekend and on such short notice. Luke came out on July 3rd to make sure we had a working faucet and disposer for the long holiday weekend. We really appreciated that they cared about this, when most other contractors were probably taking the day off. As far as the work is concerned we couldn't be happier. We now have a beautiful new kitchen that we know we will enjoy for many years to come. I was not home but I think Matt is the one that did the back splash and my wife said he was absolutely meticulous in making sure it looked just right. He was also very helpful throughout the process in recommending vendors where we could get our counters and such. He even went out of his way to pickup our tiles from Home Depot and counter braces that were necessary to support the weight of the quartz counter tops for our breakfast bar. If you are looking for a contractor who really cares about their customers and the quality of the work they do, we can't imagine that you would find a company much better than Craftsman to do the job for you.

This was a huge project! This was actually our second project with Bill and his team. Last fall, they remodeled our kitchen, creating a better space, with higher quality cabinets and granite at about half the price of the other quotes we got. We were so impressed with their integrity, dedication, honesty and hard work that we asked them to undertake this major addition and renovation on the rest of the house. We met quite a few times with Adam, their designer, to lay out the space exactly the way we wanted. We changed our minds a lot, and Adam was always great about coming over with his laptop and sitting with us to work out the design until it was exactly the way we wanted it. The project began in January and just ended this week. During the six months, Bill and his team worked consistently and diligently, always checking to see if things were done to our satisfaction. If we wanted something done differently, they did it. They regularly asked if we were satisfied and if not, they took care of it. Huge projects have lots of pitfalls and problems, no matter who the contractor is. The important thing is that Craftsman took responsibility and made sure everything was right. If we changed our minds about something, they took care of it without charging change fees or making it a huge issue. Bill, Adam, Luke, Matt, and the rest of the team had free access to our home every day while we were gone, and we never had a moment's concern. As the project went on, we would notice new things we wanted in other parts of the house, such as turning a window in the laundry room into a door, or swapping out a new sliding patio door. We would talk to Bill and he'd take care of it - there was nothing they wouldn't do if we asked, and often they did not charge extra. They also took responsibility for the work of any subcontractor (which they only use for jobs they don't do, such as guttering and carpeting). The carpet installation was done by a Home Depot subcontractor and was terrible! I didn't have to do a thing - Bill took charge, called the owner of that company, arranged to have it redone correctly. In addition, they would think of things that would make the project better. For example, the screened porch was to be a pretty standard porch. Bill and Andy, the carpenter, had some ideas for really dressing it up, using tongue and groove cedar and more decorative posts, as well as really convenient screening systems. It is really beautiful! Another wonderful feature of Craftsmen's approach is their job payment system. They DO NOT mark up on any supplies or materials, which is unheard of! At each payment, I got copies of every receipt for every item, down to the doorknobs and screws they used. I paid only for the actual supplies/materials and their labor, which is why the job was so affordable. The other bids we had were 50% higher, and were for less quality and quantity of work. Later this fall, we will be having them add a small powder room and a shed in the back yard. We will never use any other contractor for any project. We would not consider using anyone else for anything. Craftsmen are the best. We have had many experiences with contractors and by far, Craftsmen is the best. I have complete trust in them and know that if anything goes wrong or needs to be fixed down the road (because it can happen!), Bill will take care of it. These are good people you can trust completely.

I found this company on Angie?s List and made an appointment for an estimate to completely renovate our small master bathroom. After examining the bathroom and hearing our plans to replace everything- including new vanity, sink, shower, medicine cabinets, walls, floor, ceiling, exhaust fan, lights, etc, Mr. Bill Shepherd sent a very detailed estimate. It was broken down into costs for labor and costs for materials. I have never had a complete renovation done before, and I was anxious. Luke Shepherd was our project manager and he told me at our first meeting that I didn?t need to worry. Luke made it easy for me to ask questions and was always available by phone to address more of my concerns. I was advised on specific places to shop where the Shepherd guys were well known and respected. I wanted a low-curb shower base and it was made to my specifications in the color I requested at L & E Stone . I liked choosing the particular items I wanted (down to the particular faucets, tiles, floor, towel hooks, etc.) The gentlemen carefully demolished the old bathroom and created a foundation and structure for the new one. Luke, Matthew and Adam Shepherd did a lovely job on the bathroom. It went from having rotted wood and moldy grout, to a perfectly lovely new room filled with all the items I had chosen. I designed the tiles for the shower after visiting The Tile Shop. Adam then carefully placed each tile after drawing my design on the wall. They brought in an electrician to install the exhaust fan. Everything about this work went well. Even when (small) problems came up, they were quickly resolved. As soon as I save up money for another project, I will hire Craftsmen Service Company again. Thank you, Luke, Matthew and Adam for my lovely bathroom.

The entire team from Craftsmen Service Co were great to work with - professional, conscientious, accommodating, and timely. They kept to our timelines and adjusted their plans based upon our needs and expectations. Adam was a tremendous project manager and always helped us understand what we could expect and thought through different ways to handle unexpected challenges.

We had Adam Shepard from Craftsmen Service Company come to our house on March 7, 2015 to give us an estimate on updating our kitchen. When he arrived he was extremely professional and we talked about what we were interested in doing. We told him what our potential budget was and that depending on the cost we asked his opinion about adding a half bathroom off of the kitchen but were mainly interested in the kitchen first. He told us that the kitchen shouldn?t be a problem and that the other companies we had spoken with were way overpriced and ridiculous in what they wanted to charge us to basically add cabinets along one wall and update the existing cabinets on the other. Before leaving he took measurements and informed us that he would be in contact within a couple of days. After waiting about three weeks (March 24 th), I called the company to follow up. I received an email later that evening explaining that ?Due to our workload and other logistics, we would be unable to complete your job in a timely and cost effective manner.? Unfortunately, my small kitchen was not up to their standards or their time. I would not recommend this company.

This was okay. One person showed up. He was very professional. Overall, I was not displeased with the service, I just ended up getting a better deal from a different company.

We had them remodel our kitchen several years ago and were so pleased we asked them to remodel our master bathroom. They are always punctual, from the initial home visit to estimate the project through the entire remodel. They do everything they can to minimize any inconvenience. There is never a mess and once the job is finished you would never know they were there except for the incredible transformation. The workmanship is exceptional. Bill and his sons continually checked with us to make sure we were happy with the work. During the remodel we had a door that needed to be replaced and we decided to add storm doors. They picked up the doors from where we purchased them and installed them, even bothering to return one for us that was shipped in the wrong color, arranged for the correct one to be shipped and made another trip to pick up the door for the install. Our master bath is up to date, beautifully done and a pleasure to spend time in. We highly recommend them and would not hesitate to call them when we decide on our next home project.

Craftsmen Service renovated our master bathroom. The house was built in the 70's so the bathroom vanity was open to the bedroom. The shower was in a small enclosed room. Craftsmen came up with a design that made the area one large room and the space is separated from the bedroom by a door. They took out the tub and replaced it with a walk in shower. The soffet was removed making the shower look much larger than it was. They talked to us in detail about purchasing products and having them available prior to the start date for construction. The Tile Shop was awesome in terms of helping us narrow down decisions. Craftsmen said the project would take 3 weeks and it took exactly 3 weeks. The kept the house as clean as possible during the process. They were very responsive to all questions we had before and during. They did not finish until we were completely satisfied with the work. We love the bathroom and wish we'd done the renovation sooner.

As always there are delays and issues, e.g., the on-line bath tub got left on a loading dock somewhere in Columbus, so the install time had to be changed at the last minute. The work had minor issues, and when it did, I talked with Bill Shepherd about it and he addressed them every time. His statement that the job is not done until the customer is satisfied works. Bill responded to questions and concerns quickly and always with a positive attitude. The work took longer than expected, though in general, they came when we agreed that it worked for both parties. They did seem to have more jobs going than they cold handle quickly, but thta seems to be the way it works when unexpected delays happen.

My wife and I decided to go with Mr. Bill Shepherd and his crew from Craftsmen Service Co. after interviewing and obtaining quotes from three contractors. It was an easy choice. Bill easily came across as the best communicator and the most honest, knowledgable, and realistic contractor from this group. His quote was not the highest nor the lowest but was very reasonable considering the level of detail and professionalism he brought to the job. He referred us to some excellent manufacturers that provided high quality supplies such as kitchen cabinets and tile and did not mark up any of these supplies. This saved us a good amount of money and gave us access to quality materials. His crew is made up of his sons and a couple of other trustworthy individuals they he has worked with for a long time. Our new condo which we purchased in poor condition was completely renovated by Bill and his crew. The place looks brand new now! We are so happy with our renovations!! We found Mr. Shepherd and his organization to be very professional. Bill provides a quality product and stands behind his work. He provided realistic quotes up front and stuck to them when it came time for payment. He offered several ideas along the way that enhanced the project design and final product. Several family members have commented on how good all the materials and craftsmanship look. This was no accident. It's been 6 months since the project was completed but we remain in touch with Bill for small projects that he is happy to help out with. We also call him for things that he does not normally take care of and he is happy to oblige and help whenever he can! For example, someone hit our AC unit with their car (housed near a parking spot). Since our air conditioning was not working, Bill came over promptly and repaired the unit and referred us to a reliable independent contractor replace it for us, saving us several thousand dollars over franchise operators for the install of the new A/C unit (by offering it to us at factory cost). There was nothing Bill was unwilling to tackle. He loved taking on new challenges whenever we posed an unconventional request. He was very flexible and easy to work with. We felt we built a strong relationship that will last a very long time. In summary, my wife and I could not be happier with Bill Shepherd and Craftsmen Service Co. and the high quality and reasonably priced work they performed in our home. This is a very professional and high quality family business that one cannot go wrong with. I doubt if there are many other Columbus area contractors that give you this great combination of quality, affordability, and excellent service that we were looking for. If you are looking for a similar type of individual/company, you will be very happy with Bill Shepherd and Craftsmen Service Co.!

This was my first time having a remodel done. The contractor was very helpful and guided me through all the steps I need to do (mostly buy the stuff). The work was completed on time and at less than the original estimate. Excellent service provider!

Could not have got better. Both Adam and Bill are great at what they do. Communication was great. The work was top-notch. You can tell this is a company that takes serious pride in quality workmanship and delivering on a project. Would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Had a wonderful first time remodeling experience with Craftsmen. It was a pretty massive project that included our kitchen, dinign room, family room and laundry and we were not disappointed. The job started in January and took about 8 weeks to complete. Any questions or concerns were answered and taken care of as soon as possible. And adding items to their list was never a problem. They were very professional and easy to work with. Bill was able to refer us to various vendors/suppliers that he has used and saved us quite a bit of money and that was very much appreciated! Our kitchen, laundry/mud room, family room, dining room are absolutely beautiful! We will definitely be using them in the future.

When I asked for an estimate, Adam listened carefully and made a few suggestions without any pressure. (Another contractor from whom I asked an estimate, did not listen and told me what I wanted.) The entire team kept me informed of their progress, schedule and would ask me to check to be sure I was satisfied periodically. They cleaned up after each work day and went out of their way to not inconvenience us. The final cost was very close to the estimate. All were friendly, yet professional men. I would request to do business with them in a heartbeat.

Bill met us at the house on 2/15 to go over a few ideas and talk about our bathroom remodel that we wanted done ASAP. He was right on time and incredibly nice. He took time to go over everything and asked what we were thinking. He was there about 20 minutes and left. We received the 3D bathroom design, which was really cool, on 2/25 from Bill's son, Adam. I emailed back asking for the estimate as this was not included on the original design. Adam said that Bill would get that to us by the end of the week. It is now April 1st and I haven't heard anything from either one of them. I guess I can't say anything about their work other than, it speaks poorly of a company when they forget about a client. I will say, what experience we had with Bill was very good. Unfortunately, I would not contact them again in the future for a remodel project and we have went with another company who gave us quotes on time.

Overall a very good experience. I enjoyed working with Luke, Greg and Bill. I am enjoying my new kitchen. Craftsmen respected my home and took care not to make a mess of my home during the project. They have good subcontractors for electrical and plumbing. The job was done in the time frame I expected and to my expectations. They communicated well and I always knew when someone would be in my house. I felt comfortable allowing them to come and go when I was not at home.

It was fine. At the time I got the contract, nothing was done. Two years later, I contracted them to do a bathroom remodeling. I knew what I wanted but I didn't get a blueprint. He didn't actually draw the scale, he gave me a cost list. There were spaces that were excellent and there were spaces that were not good.

They were absolutely awesome. They were timely and acted as the general contractor for the sub contractors. They gave great advice on my kitchen and gave a professional informative decision. They were an expert in their field. They also pointed us in the right direction for materials at a lower price. It took about 2 and a half months to complete all the work. We are satisfied with the outcome.

The gentleman did come out, talked through our ideas with us and took measurements. What he delivered for a plan was a standard design from Home Depot that I could have gotten myself for free. He clearly didn't take very detailed notes because he had existing windows/doors located on the wrong walls. He was not able to provide any input or suggestions. Merely a drawing of what we told him were our initial thoughts done by Home Depot.

Bill and his team helped update two bathrooms. They installed ceramic tile in one of the full bathrooms. They also installed a new toilet and vanity (including any related plumbing) in two bathrooms. We had some issues with the faucets we selected, but Bill's team told us the correct kind to get. They also procured the appropriate supplies if they had not been provided passing the cost through to us. It was very nice that they just took care of business. We appreciated that they completed the work on time and pretty close to the quoted price.

My husband and I initially chose Caraftsmen Service Company because of the positive reviews, however, our experience with Bill was very disappointing. First of all, he didn't show up to thescheduled appointment or call. After waiting a half hour past our scheduled appointment, we called Bill to find out why he didn't show up. He claimed he had the appointment written down for the next day. We understand that mistakes happen, but it was very inconvenient to be waiting around during the middle of the day. Bill ended up coming but was over two hours late. Once he arrived, he was quite nice and seemed honest and professional, so my husband and I felt better about using his company. After discussing everything Bill said he would email us with an estimate by that Sunday. Sunday came and went with no estimate. We understand that he may have been busy, but we certainly would have appreciated a call or some sort of follow up. My husband and I waited about another week and a half to call him to find out what happened. We left Bill a voice mail but he never returned our call. My husband and I were very disappointed considering the other positive reviews. Our whole experience with him was a negative one, and we found his lack of communication very unprofessional.
