Young Home Inspections

It is important to note that we have used this company twice before in 2012 and 2014 for inspections. We decided based on our most recent phone contact to not use this firm again based on their availability and their expressed preference for home inspection versus insurance inspections. I do not recommend Young Home Inspections for insurance inspections based on this interaction and their expressed preference for home inspections. The person I spoke with did call back to follow-up, but we will find another inspection service for future work.

This is my second time using Young Home Inspections and I am so pleased, I look forward to continuing to work with them! Christine is friendly and pleasant as your point of contact and was able to squeeze in a weekend inspection for me AND have the report rushed for us to meet a deadline for the contract. Brandon was our inspector and was extremely knowledgeable about homes in the area and of the era, and pointed out several issues for us right away during the inspection. He was very professional and up front about what he could see in the home and helped us to make a decision on moving forward. As a homeowner, Christine and Brian have impressed me as the professionals whom I would be happy to recommend to anyone who need home inspection service. The couple is not only diligent and committed to their inspections but also cares about helping me understand the inspection report insides out. I found Young Inspections two weeks ago on Angie’s List where the firm has over 200 positive customer reviews. After talking with Christine over the phone and looking through the firm’s sample inspection report, I decided to hire Young Inspections to do a full house inspection. The inspection was conducted on October 24, 2017, for about 2 hours. After receiving the inspection report, I asked Christine to walk me through the report and Christine arranged Brian, the licensed inspector who did the inspection at my house, called me thoroughly answering all of my questions. Brian also helped me come up with an action plan to tackle the issues that I have with my house. During the whole conversation, Brian truly impressed me how respectful he was to me as his customer and how serious he was about helping me to keep my house in good shape. I would highly recommend Young Inspections to anyone who needs home inspection services. There is no hidden fee for the firm’s services and the firm honors its commitments to customers. The firm’s inspection report touches every details of a house and leaves nothing unnoticed. In summary, Young Inspections means what it says and says what it means. I actually feel that Christine and Brian have gone above and beyond what I paid for their professional service.

Brian and Christine were wonderful people to work with. I especially appreciated their honesty, responsiveness and punctuality. I would HIGHLY recommend them and use them again but the area I am looking in now is unfortunately out of their range :(

Everything went very well and the inspector, Brandon, was very detailed. My only advice would be to document the prices you're quoted. The office manager quoted me a price for the updated insurance report after the new roof was installed, unfortunately the listing agent forgot about the appointment to let the inspector back in. Upon follow up, I was quoted a difference price and when I corrected her she proceeded to tell me she would not have given me a discount off their standard wind mitigation report - I specifically remember her quoting the discounted price because she stated she remembers us telling her up front that the report would need to be updated after the new roof was installed. It wasn't the money itself that bothered me, it was that this employee firstly failed to document what she was quoting me, and secondly calling the customer an outright liar. I'd hire them again just because of the quality of the inspector, but make sure that every quote from the office manager is confirmed via email. As I said, it wasn't the money, it was the manner in which I was treated.

This company only takes 1.5 hours to do an inspection! I learned this after scheduling my inspection, I learned that I was double-booked and was asked to move my inspection to an earlier spot. I was fine with this as I understand mistakes happen; however, I was not find when finding out that they do their inspections in 2-hour blocks. Unacceptable.

Our home inspector was exceptionally professional and very thorough. The pest inspector, she too was very good informative and we will continue to utilize their service with our new home!

Went very well. The inspector was on time and was very detailed with his report. It was very easy to get an appointment.

Very knowledgeable, reasonable price. Great reports via PDF with lots of photos. Was a bit disappointed in some of the things missed though. Upon move-in, our dryer does not function, with lint all over the place behind the dryer. I would think he would have looked briefly behind the appliances to check for leaks and ventilation. There was a big hole cut out in the wall behind a bathtub that we suspected of having a leak. We mentioned that we thought water damage was from a leaking bathtub, so you would think he would look at the wall behind the bathtub to check. Instead he said there was no way to know whether the bathtub was the cause. I asked him upon entering the home to turn the water on in the bathtub immediately so it would be running for a while, giving a better indication of whether there was a leak. He refused and said he would get to it when he got to it. Any time we wanted to watch, ask questions, or be involved in any way, we were told to stay out of the way. I like to be involved in a home inspection so I know what I am getting into.

Great! They found a number of issues that we would not have identified prior to warranty expiration. Well worth the price.

He was terrific, he found everything and I didn't buy that house. He saved my a**. Money well spent. I thought the written report was a little hard to follow, It didn't really highlight the things that were really important to know. The reason I did so well is that I was there for the inspection. He went over everything with me. He was very punctual, in fact he got there ahead of me and he was already working when I got there. He was up on the roof and everything before I could let him in. But I don't know how well it would of gone if I would of relay on the written report. Because everything was in it but everything was written the same way. It was just like a list and it wasn't like hey you know this is very serious. You know orally you get that. But it's not really his fault they have like a form that/s filled in kind of. They didn't really have a spot, I think they needed like a summary at the end with the key points. All the pieces of information were there maybe to much information.

The inspector was detail oriented, provided his cellphone to answer questions, and walked us through his findings while at the property.

They were punctual and professional work was performed in a timely manner and pointed out other deficiencies to help with the sale of the home

What a great company, I had to re schedule a couple of times because of a new roof being put on there was never a problem. Brandon did a great job of inspectioning the house and Christy went out of her way in helping me. I learned a lot from her. Would highly recommend.

Went to Angie's list and looked for the home inspection company with the most positive reviews. SO glad I did. Not only will I hire them for every inspection I do I am sure my realtor will suggest them to her clients also. Brandon Walton was there early and took his time to test everything. The house is a short sale and I wanted to make sure I knew what I was getting into. I am so pleased with the detail of the report and all the photos of the items needing attention. Great experience.

Brandon came to the house and performed a thorough, professional job. I can't imagine there is much he didn't uncover! A great job. Christy in the office was always helpful, too. We also liked the company they recommended for termite inspection, Knight.

It went really well. They came out last minute. They were very helpful and knowledgeable through the inspection process. The price was very reasonable as well.

This inspection was so worth the money. Our new home was 11 months old and we wanted to make sure that any problems were identified and repaired before the builders warranty expired. The inspector was very thorough and gave us the peace of mind that our home was solid and well constructed. We have recommended this company to many of our neighbors and they also are very pleased.

Excellent company. From my initial contact with Christy who was very professional and upbeat to the outstanding inspection done by Ron. The process was seamless. They were prompt, courteous and professional during the entire process. I would highly recommend them. Great value as well.

I wished agent would have showed me roof/attic. I'm a home owner that needs to sleep at night-hands-on. Agent very cordial and professional. I'm a RC Navy vet. He's also a US military Vet. Great combination. The report was very thorough. Just wished he could have given a little extra time to show me attic/roof. Angie's list provided a discount on the major report. Christy was very pleasant, knowledgeable and personable when calling to schedule an appointment. My inspector Brian was meticulous, he was very cautious and detailed. They arranged for my termite inspection to be done during the home inspection. I also utilized them for a follow up inspection which Brian did not disappoint. Overall I would definitely use this company again and recommend them to family and friends. Thank you for a job well done :)

Their representative was able to perform the inspection on noon at Thursday after we called on a Wednesday He was right on time and spent 2 2/12 hours on the inspection. Nothing huge was found, although there were a few electrical issues. The owners of the home had purchased it a year ago and their inspection service failed to find the issues the Young group did. I appreciate the fullness of the inspection and we had the formal report early the next morning. Being that the house was over 2,000 sq ft and we included the pool, the cost was slightly higher but this was explained to us prior to ordering the service, so it was fair.
