This was a special coupon deal that Pure Air offered through Angie's List. I recently purchased my home and wanted to make sure my A/C unit was working well. The first appointment was set for an earlier day, but the service guy never showed up! Somehow our wires got crossed. They had the appointment set for the following day in their appt. book. Of course, I was upset. I sat and wasted half the day waiting for him to show. The company felt really bad about the mix up. I had to rebook the appointment because it was already paid for. A few minutes after rebooking the appointment the receptionist called back and said she spoke to her boss about the situation. They wanted to make it up to me by installing a new digital thermostat free of charge. Stan arrived on time and did the maintenance and installed the thermostat. Stan was punctual, polite and explained everything to me. My A/C unit is 8 years old so I was afraid he would try to sell me I needed a new unit. Instead, he said it was in pretty good condition. He did tell me about their annual maintenance program. I thought it was good deal (a no brainer) for the price, so I went for it! Stan also apologized again for the appointment screw up and we had a great conversation about baseball!! Stan's professionalism removed any doubt I had about this company!

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was fine but it was expensive. They convinced me that my air conditioner had seen its better days and that I needed an entire new one. They also recommended that they redo the duct work which I did not have them do. They were good workers. They completed the job in one afternoon and evening. Their work and efficiency was good. I wasn't prepared with the $6,000 but I guess there was a problem in the air conditioner so I went along with that.

Purchased a special of $ 49 for a cleaning of ac. Received an email confirming ( Sunday night) that they would call me Monday . Monday am got a call to confirm what day and time would work for me and they worked around my schedule . Arrived at 815 and were done within an hour. I purchased the annual maintenance and they subtracted the cost from the amount I already paid . I was very happy !

We own a condo in Naples, FL. I received a call on 7/16 saying that the A/C was okay, but some of the pipes were freezing. It wasn't an emergency, but I bought the Big Deal for the inspection and maintenance. An appointment was made for Saturday, but it turns out they don't perform maintenance on weekends. They ended up lying saying it turned out to be a service call, and tried to charge me more.

Provider was timely, curtious, and knoledgeable and performed the services in a workman like way. Provider offered an ongong service plan for consideration. I graded "B" because an outside water faucet hookup used to clean the HVAC unit was not fully turned off and water was dripping from that outside faucet. I saw this a few hours after the service was completed. It was the only "mar" on what otherwise was "A" service.

I purchased a special deal from Angie's List to give this company a try. I originally set up an appointment in May. The technician didn't show because of bad weather. I rescheduled the appointment for the following morning, 9am - 10am, but the technician didn't show. I scheduled a third appointment for Wednesday, July 10th, and the technician didn't show. When I called the office, because no-one showed, I found out that the appointment hadn't been scheduled. I arranged a fourth appointment for Thursday, July 11th, and the owner showed on time. He came across as arrogant and condescending. No apologies at all for the treatment we had received. He checked the a/c unit and told us that he would need a second technician to correct a fault in the air blower, at an additional charge. We have four condo units in Naples and I would never use this company.
Description of Work: The owner showed up on the fourth attempt to set up an appointment. He inspected the a/c unit and informed us that he'd have to send a second technician to fix the problem, a fault light on the air blower.

I called Pure. I used them the year before, and they did a reasonable job on the service considering the price. So, I called them this year because I was having problems on the afternoon of Friday 6/28/13. I spoke to the person Nick, and he suggested that they come out to do the service for the same price-- which was a excellent deal roughly $25 per system. I told them that likely one system would need to be replaced. and I would need a quote--which was the original reason I called. The service at that price seem like a good idea, and he suggested they could give me a likely quote on the repair or replacement of the poorly functioning unit at the same time. He said no problem they would check it out when they came out and would either provide me with an estimate for repair of replacement. So, I said great. I had to move the kids downstairs so we waited the whole weekend. 20-30 minutes before they were to arrive at approximately noon on Monday 7/1/13 they call me to cancel and say they will not honor the special discussed with Nick even per his suggestion and as ask me if they would like me to still come at about triple the price. I do they best to restrain myself and tell them no. Unbelievable, lack of professionalism, short sightedness, opportunism and just plain stupidity considering that I have old systems and will likely have to replace one and eventually all of them in the not to distant future.

[member name removed], I find it somewhat alarming that you felt that the $24.95 clean and check special was "somewhat of a good deal, considering" and that you liked us enough to call in for another inspection, yet you thought our regular price clean and check was blasphemy. Let me remind you that last year when we serviced your system and recommended work to be done, you called another company to get it done cheaper. Nick is not the owner of the company and did not say so. It's my decision whether or not I think a customer is a good fit for my company, unfortunately I don't believe you are. Nick should have however qualified you better over the phone and explained that the special at that time could only be used once "new customer" so that the appointment was never set to begin with. Keep in mind that we are a for profit business and the really low clean and check price is a chance for you to experience the service and great advice that Pure Air offers. In my opinion Angie's List was created for people who want excellent service, not for people to bash contractors who aren't the cheapest in town or will not provide a service for X amount of dollars. The owner met with us, discussed the current a/c unit, and provided a bid for a new a/c system. He explained how the humidistat worked and why it should be replaced along with the thermostat. He answered all of our questions and was very helpful. The new a/c was installed within 48 hours, but could have been earlier if we had wanted. The three technicians removed our old unit and had the new one cooling within 3 hours. They were on time, professional and explained how to set the new thermostat and humidistat. The installation passed inspection with no changes. We went with this company because we wanted a local company that had been in business for a while. Our bid spelled out exactly what would be included (type of unit, hurricane straps, mastic seal, permit & disposal). The price also included 3 years of preventive maintenance. The office staff was polite and pleasant to talk with.

The inspection fellow told me that I had mold in my a/c system, which alarmed me. He then attempted to press me into purchasing a dual ultraviolet light system, duct cleaning and sealing, and a service contract -- all of which would supposedly clear out the mold problem for $3000.00. I do not know if that company has "mold specialist" qualifications; however, the diagnosis of mold was made. The duct system was not checked, but the duct cleaning/sealing was recommended. A week later, I got a second opinion from another a/c company. This group indicated that the "mold" was mildew build-up on the inner casing of the a/c unit in the garage due to condensation build up. He cleaned all visible mildew off. The duct system was checked and the verdict was that I did not have a mold problem. The new a/c company offered to install an ultraviolet light system, if I wanted it, for $400.00. This second company, 4 Seasons Air, seemed very upfront, answered all of my questions, and was much more reasonable in terms of their service contract, too.

(member name removed), I have spoken with my technician about your air conditioning system. He identified microbial growth inside the system when he had the panels off. We do not claim to be mold specialists but rather would like to see your coils and insulation free of microbial growth. When a coil is dirty for any reason it hurts the systems ability to efficiently and dependably cool your home. The coils should be cleaned and if the customer chooses to, an ultraviolet light can be installed to prevent any further microbial growth from occurring in the future. The ductwork is also a major source of air loss. I again was not there, however if you can feel air coming from the connections in the attic, a mastic seal will properly seal them so you aren't cooling the attic. In fact, a mastic seal is required for any new installation of an air conditioning system per county code. I do have to rely on my technicians to be fair and honest with any new or existing customers. They are paid hourly and do not have a reason to sell you something you don't need. I hope you are not upset with us and will consider using us in the future.

I was very impressed to say the least. The technician who recommended the particular ac system was very knowledgeable and explained several options. I felt well informed and made the decision to put in a Rheem system. The installers were also very clean and polite. They installed the system in one day, it passed inspection with the county, and they will be maintaining it for the next three years. They also gave me advice on proper filters for the system. Like I said, very impressed!

I was frustrated with our previous a/c service company as there were always repairs and/or coolant needed on the units we had recently purchased from them. I was able to get a same day quote from PURE AIR and was quoted less than half of what the other company had quoted for the exact same work. Also, the semi-annual service contract was far less than the other company. Unfortunately, when the service date arrived there was a mistake and the part was not put on the truck so service had to be rescheduled for the next day. The following day the technician arrived on time and completed the work within two hours. Unlike with the other company, we were not charged for additional coolant and I was shown the parts that were replaced. I am very pleased with Pure Air and will be recommending them to my neighbors. Great job!!

Prior to leaving town for an extended period I thought it prudent to have my A/C system serviced. The subject company was called and an appointment set. All appeared to go very well; the serviceman arrived that afternnon within the timeframe specified; he seemed well informed and, worked diligently. After completing his tasks he informed me the system was fuctioning properly within specified norms except he suggested a U/V light be added to inhibit the growth of mold in the condenser. I selected one of the three choices offered on his advice and an appointment was scheduled for future installation. The very next day the air conditioner almost ceased to function. Although it operated continuously the unit labored to maintain a temperature just a few degrees below outside ambient. Being somewhat suspicious I called on a different company to check the system. After checking the technician informed me that the coolant pressure was barely above minimum, Subsequently he added eight pounds of coolant, which he said was highly unusual since he could not detect any leaks. The system immediately began functioning normally and continues to do so.

[member name removed], I am sorry to hear you had air conditioning problems the next day after my technician was there. It does happen sometimes that the schrader valve had most likely become stuck open after my technician had put his pressure gauges on your service ports to check the pressures. Although it does not happen often, I would have liked to have been the company to come back and take care of the issue free of charge. Most likely the shrader valve also needed to be replaced and wasn't discovered to be faulty until the refrigerant had all leaked out. The schrader valve is a valve that has a rubber seal and when depressed opens up and should close when the gauges are taken back off. We had you scheduled for an ultraviolet light installation in your air handler and I was made aware that your unlicensed neighbor could get them cheaper. I can assure you are intentions were not to let the refrigerant out of your system. I can understand if you were upset and didn't want us back, however in the future I would still like to be the company you can depend on for excellent and honest service.

The AC unit had continuous problems, even though it was only a 2005 Carrier. Finally the compressor went and the coils were rusted over.And of course it was the hottest day of the year! I didn't have an AC company to call on that I felt comfortable with... and once again, thank God for Angies List. Read the reviews, decided Pure Air was the company for me and called. Friendly, professional and helpful! Came right over, diagnosed the problem, worked with me on the price, letting me know of FPL incentives and tax rebates and offered the best warranty program I have heard of. One that included a 3 year maintenance program! Had it in the next day, cleaned up after themselves,explained everything they were doing and as far as I am concerned, went over and above to make sure that I was happy and at ease with the process. Thank You Pure Air for making this BIG purchase a good one.
