Pure Air

The Pure Air Service Provider was to present between 8 am and 10 am. He called ahead to let me know his estimated time of arrival and he was accurate, arriving within the stated time range. He introduced himself as Novie Tocco. I noted his name badge stated "Sales and Service." His behavior and uniform were professional. His speech was perfectly understandable. He worked quickly and efficiently. He practiced safety measures as in disconnecting the power source from the unit before inspection. He used diagnostic equipment to obtain measurements. He discovered, and showed me, that even though I could hear my A/C running before the power was disconnected, the compressor was not working and had become very hot to the touch. He doused the hot compressor with water from a hose. He found the "Contactor" not working as its electrical wires were burnt. He found the "3 MFD Capacitor" in poor condition as it was covered in oil because of an oil leak. He checked-off items on the company's checklist as agreed on Angie's List for the stated cost of $59.00 which I had pre-paid Online. The checklist included performance of charging the unit with a refrigerant; unfortunately I cannot attest as to whether or not he did perform a charge as I had not known what the procedure looked like, and I do not recall him stating he had done so. He told me, then put in writing on the company's service ticket, the name of the parts that would need to be replaced and the costs involved in replacement: "3 MFD Capacitor" at $89 and the "Contactor" at $119. I initiated a brief discussion of the cost of an entire new A/C system. I appreciated being spared a "pushy" sales pitch. A couple of days later my brother-in-law referred me to his friend who is an HVAC servicer stating that I could expect to be charged less for the servicing my A/C needed. I agreed to have this person inspect my unit. He concurred that the 2 parts the Pure Air Servicer said needed replacing did indeed need replacing. He also found, and showed me, a third item that needed replacing which the Pure Air Service Provider had missed. I decided to have the second Provider (not Pure Air) repair my A/C. However, this second Provider took two weeks to finish the job during which I was without A/C in SW Florida in July. I wager had I paid the higher cost of the Pure Air service I would not have had to be without A/C for two weeks.

I did not pay extra costs. He showed up right on time and went right through it. He did a good job and i had no complaints. I would use them again. He was friendly and he called before he arrived. He was dressed appropriately for his kind of work.

Used Pure Air because my previous provider thought these A/C maintenance visits should be high pressure sales efforts. Pure Air gave me prompt service without any sales pressure. I am very happy with the service from Pure Air.

Service was provided satisfactorily.

The provider came out and explained that they wouldn't be able to clean my air duct vents as they are fiberglass. The technician and owner were very honest and explained everything to me and it was a pleasant experience.

The PureAir technician arrived at the house on time and serviced the A/C in a very complete and professional manner. All went well and I woud certainly used PureAir again if the need arises.

This is the first time using Pure Air for A/C service and I would definitely use them again. Rob was within the appointment time specified, calling 15 minutes before arriving to let me know he was on his way. He was quick and quiet and professional in his work, showing me what he had done and what needed work, but not trying to sell me on extras which I appreciated. I'd definitely use them again and would recommend to others.

They were honest and very thorough.

They no longer service Englewood even though it says they do on Angie's List

We recently purchased the home and even though the inspection had not turned up any issues with the unit, the technician found that it had NOT been serviced in many years and needed it BADLY. He also found the main drain line was clogged and part of it had to be replaced. I had found a coupon on Angie's List for maintenance service from this A rated company just two days prior to this issue. So we knew exactly who to call when the system stopped working. There was a little misunderstanding with the bill. I was not present when the tech finished with the work and my husband forgot that i had purchased the coupon. However, i was able to call the company later and I spoke with the Assistant Manager. I described the circumstances and she adjusted the bill right away. We are very happy with our technician and with this company. As it turns out, the tech was new to this area too and spoke of how he wanted to work for a highly rated company and how he found Pure Air on Angie's List. Pretty cool how Angie's List works somethings. Thanks

I know my system is very old and may go at any time. I just wanted it cleaned and checked. The tech did exactly what I wanted and expected.

Pure Air replaced my complete A/C system. They were recommended to me by a neighbor who had a system replaced. Pure Air's price was more reasonable, including better efficiency units, compared to higher quotes I received from other companies. I spoke to Mike Crothers several times discussing the details of the job to my satisfaction. The installation was scheduled quickly because my A/C was dieing & the work was completed on time. The techs were very professional & did a great job. The office staff was very pleasant & responsive. I would use Pure Air again & recommend them to others.

We had some storms blow through on a Saturday. Our electricity kept going off and on. That night we realized our a/c was not working. We thought we could fix it by turning off the main breaker, but that did not work. So Sunday we called Pure Air. Rob, the technician, told us he would try to get to us, but there were 6 ahead of us. 4 being in Naples, 2 in Ft Myers....we are in Cape Coral. He did not make it here on Sunday which was disappointing, but expected since there were a lot of people who were in front of us. Monday morning/ afternoonish Rob made it here. We were so relieved seeing that the inside temp already had gotten to 84. Wow, talk about amazing. Rob was AWESOME. He thoroughly checked everything and found the problem. He had our system up and running in no time. I followed him around the whole time and he explained everything he was doing and answered every question I had. He did not try to sell us anything or mislead us. We are not from this area. As soon as we bought our house we needed an a/c company to come figure out what was going on with our a/c seeing that it was not working properly. Based on our realtors recommendation, we used one company who was horrible, so we then had to find another company for a second opinion. The second company was better and fixed our problem but we wanted to find a company that really impressed us and left no question in our minds about the work that was done. We decided to try Pure Air based on their rating and reviews on Angie's list. We are so impressed with the work Rob has done and how personable he is. One thing that really seems to stay with us is that Rob talked so highly of Mike, the owner of Pure Air. How he is a great person who seems to want the best for people and out of his 20 plus years in the industry, this has been the best company he has worked for. We are excited to have finally found a company that we feel completely confident sticking with. If my friends or family ever need a recommendation on an a/c company, I will not hesitate to tell them Pure Air is the way to go.

Very helpful & friendly service from the entire Pure Air staff. Pure Air tech (Josh) was on time and very competent & efficient in servicing the A/C system. He is also extremely knowledgeable regarding the operation & effectiveness of HVAC systems. In summary, a great value service delivered in a most timely manner!

I originally had my A/C installed last year by a highly rated company due to getting a huge discount from work. I called to have a scheduled cleaning and they wanted almost three times what Pure Air was asking. The technician Josh showed up and was very professional. He did not try to up sale anything. He explained that if you do not have your A/C on a Maintenance Schedule it will void your manufacture warranty. This made perfect sense. If something goes wrong you must provide documentation that the unit was maintained. Just like a car and oil changes. If not, you are stuck paying for the part. The company who installed the A/C failed to tell me this. He was very thorough while doing the maintenance. Anyone who needs future work on an A/C I highly recommend this company.

2 men arrived on time and removed old unit, then installed new A/C. Owner Mike Crothers spoke with me via phone to explain the system in detail. Servicemen were courteous and hard-working, and careful to clean up at completion of job.

Great guy. Cleaned units, confirmed pressure. Pointed out issues that are reducing the units efficiency and life span.

I am disabled and need special air conditioning. I had a Mini Spit Air conditioner installed in the bed room and there was a problem with the line set. My brother who installed the unit, who lives a long way away, sent me the correct line set. The line set is only 15 feet long and the job is to bend the copper line set to attach the condenser to the compressor, evacuate the lines and then repressureize the system. They walked away saying we don't use customer owned supplies. I called the main offfice up and complained and they rescheduled another service call. They never showed up but I did get a phone call quoting me $1100 for the job that is about twice what it should cost. Obviously their Big Deal is a bait an switch.

Update to my last review (sorry it took so long). The owner contacted me and said that they had some issues with staffing in the office, and asked if he could still honor the Big Deal for free. I told him that if they were going to do the work, I would still pay the bill, and wanted to give him a second chance. The service tech came by and was friendly, informative, polite, and not pushy at all. It went very well and I am happy to revise my review to a much higher level. Still have to give a "B" for punctuality based on the office issue, but would definitely use again.

I paid up front for this project, and I have had nothing but problems with Pure Air since. They installed the new AC unit, and installed the return vents in the wrong area. They stated that they would have a company repair it but the work was never completed. I have still have a hole in the ceiling above my bed because of it. They said they were going to rehang the duct work in the attic, but installed in improperly. I have insulation all over the new ducts, with is causing it to sweat on condensate. The thermostat has also not been working properly, and has been trying to run at 100% for over a week now. I have reached out to Pure Air many times in regards to all of my concerns, and I have gotten the run around every time. They schedule appointment times with me, and never show up, or show up hours later. Every time I wait around for them to show up, I am missing work. The owner of Pure Air has been very unprofessional with me, and it is clear that he does not want to fix the mess that he has created. He does not even call me, but rather likes to communicate via text message. I paid him upfront, and now he just wants to work on his own time, not mine. I have been spending lots of money for the air conditioning to run 100% due to the incorrect installation. The owner, Mike, has been telling me over and over that I am handling the situation wrong. He has not been willing to work with me at all because of this. I would never recommend Pure Air to anyone else, based off the experiences that I have had with them.

Needed a quicker service than was possible with company, so no longer needed the voucher. No fault on the company just have no need of voucher.

Went fine. Very detailed explanation of our system (what was good about it and what wasn't). Service tech was the most knowledgeable A/C person I've ever had look at our system. Spent about an hour with me.

Our air conditioner stopped working. I looked on Angies list and saw Pure Air excellent reviews and called their office. The owner showed up the same day. He looked at our unit and recommended a replacement and gave us a quote while he was here. The quote not only included a replacement of our existing system, but with an efficiency rating twice that of our existing unit. The quote also included a new thermostat and 3 year maintenance agreement, We felt the price was fair and signed the contract. His backlog was out three days so we asked him to do the best he could. He called the next day and asked if we minded if his people came out that evening. They showed up at 6pm and finished just before 10pm. We were thrilled. All four employees were professional, totally cleaned up after themselves and we enjoyed a comfortable nights sleep. There was no extra charge to us for them to come after hours. I have already recommended Pure Air to many of my friends and am using them to service a friends unit who does not live here full time.

He did a fine job. I felt like he was trying to sell me on replacement of the unit. A prior inspector and contractor told me it was fine? No complaints about service.

Everything went well. He was very professional and courteous. Also very efficient.
