Bought the inspection package through a "Big Deal" special. Got a same day response from Pure Air's office and were able to make an agreeable appointment date. Pure Air tech, Novie Tocco, contacted me prior to scheduled appt time to alert me that he was on his way. He arrived a tad earlier than scheduled and appeared to due a thorough inspection, both inside and out. He was careful not to track any of the outside back inside. He also explained Pure Air's Preventative Maintenance Agreement. Overall, I was extremely pleased with my experience with Pure Air and will continue to use them as necessary.

Cleaning service was good. Service guy tried to sell me a new air conditioner, which wasn't needed as my air conditioner is not broken and is one of the better rated units on the market, not to mention it's not more than 5-6 years old. Need to be careful down in FL when it comes to air conditioning, as it's an easy market to suggest buying new air conditioners without really needing one.

Service tech showed up on time checked thermostat and gas levels both ok. Tech was unable to clean the coil stating age and condition of the unit prevented him from doing so, which was the main purpose of getting the tune up. The good news is he was able to give me a quote rapidly for a new $5,300 unit, I would have considered this credible if he completed the services originally contracted for. I got a $39 explanation of why I need a new system and my coil was not cleaned as i "The Deal" I did not bother to press the issue it was pretty clear he wasn't interested in working on the unit but to sell me a new one. I thought the deal was too good so my expiations were low, the unit is still cooling the house to 72 in 95 degree Florida weather even without the coil cleaned.

Technician who came to my home was not the same person I was told to expect. This is the one thing for which I might have given less than an A, but I decided not to lower the score because the overall service was professional and he did not try to sell me anything extra. Our upstairs unit wasn't producing cold air. Thankfully, the capacitor was the problem and was fixed quickly by our wonderful serviceman. When the unit conked out again the next day, the faulty part was replaced without charge -- so professional and knowledgeable. I was thankful that we weren't pressured into an up-sell but instead we were offered brochures about an ongoing promotion for new units.

I am a Realtor who purchased this for clients who had just closed on their property as they were of state. I made the appointment through Angie's List then followed up with a phone call. It would be a couple of weeks before they could actually make it to the property, but that was ok. My only issue with this process is there is no communication during this time. Just expect someone between 1-4pm 3 weeks after the appointment. I would appreciate a little more notice or even a courtesy call the day before. Tech arrived after 4pm....as I was waiting since 1pm. I am also 35min away from the property, so when the tech calls when he's at the gate, like the first appointment I made on another property, it really isn't convenient for anyone. The tech was late, which is why I felt he was in a rush through the service. The cover came off the unit, quick inspection with a flashlight, some tablets in the condensate drain, and that was it. Looked around at all the vents to check for blockages(?), then moved outside to check the compressor with gauges and volt meter. That was it. No filter provided or cleaned. I guess for the price there should be no complaints, and I really don't have any. Just my particular experience.

He arrived early and called as we required. Extremely professional and he checked the the outside compressor, washed the coils, checked the freon, and all electrical area's for proper settings. he checked the air handler,and replaced screws that were left out from the previous tech from another company. WE would call him again. Great recommendation from Angie's List....

If you would have asked me last year what I thought of pure air I would have given them a rave review. They came out to our house last year when our a/c quit working. We had to wait a day but the technician that eventually came out was awesome. He was very thorough and explained everything he did. Fast forward to this year. I noticed that our thermostat was reading high so we called pure air to see if they could come out. I requested the same tech who came out last year. I couldn't remember his name, so I requested they pull the paperwork so they could send the same guy. To my surprise, they only found paperwork from 2012. The receptionist said she wasn't surprised because of someone who used to work there and her lack of filing?! I don't know. Maybe that was a sign from the beginning to go somewhere else? Anyway, she said that Novi would be out around 4-6pm. I asked her if I could use my Angie's list coupon and she said yes. Around 5:30 I received a call that Joe would be here after the job he was already doing. No problem, I was happy they were coming! Joe arrived around 6pm. He got out of his work van and from the beginning was not very pleasant. Again, no problem. Its the end of the day and he clearly didn't want to be here. I understand that some people do not have great personalities. Joe grabbed a few tools and went up into the attic where my husband already had the ladder down for him. Before he went up, I explained exactly what the tech did last year. Joe went up into the attic, was there for just a moment, came back down and we walked around to the a/c unit. He got another tool from his van and said that we needed refrigerant. He got the refrigerant from his van with a scale and started to put it into the a/c unit. He did not explain anything as to what he was looking for. He just talked about some old car he restored. The only thing he was sure to tell us was that we need a new a/c and that he added 3lbs of refrigerant. He said that the condenser line had thawed out so he was done. I asked him if he wanted me to help him take his items to his van and he said sure. I told him that we are not from this area and he said he wasn't either. Somehow we got on the topic of Lehigh Acres. I stated that I heard Lehigh was not the place to be. He muttered something and said he was going to sound racist. Then he started talking about how the "black meme's" were ruining everything. That Lehigh used to be nice until he "black meme's" started moving there. He continued saying it wasn't the Hispanic people who were making it bad. I was shocked to hear something like this come out of this guy's mouth. From those nasty comments, I figured he was just prejudice against black people. I am a white lady, so maybe he assumed I would take no offense to his comments. Well, next my husband came home from the store. He was carrying groceries and greeted Joe. Joe said nothing to him. By the look on my husband's face, he was irritated that Joe could not say hi. When my husband was finished carrying in all of the groceries, he came outside to see what had been done. He asked Joe what he did, and Joe walked away from him and said he compressed the air. My husband followed him and was trying to ask him what that meant, and Joe did not answer him. He just kept mumbling that he compressed the air. My husband walked away, at this point, very angry. Did I mention that my husband is Hispanic? My husband started putting the drinks into the outside refrigerator, I went inside to grab my payment, and Joe told me he was going to get the form to fill out to take my payment. I was getting my credit card to take outside when Joe walked past my husband and stated he was going into the house since it is now cool. He did not ask if he could enter, just walked right in. My husband was right behind him and Joe tried to shut the door, when my husband grabbed the handle and opened it so he could come in too. At this point you could cut the tension in the air. Joe walked around to where the chairs are at our bar, and sat right down. He continued to talk and try to make conversation, only looking at me, as you could feel the tension. As he was talking to me, he told me how he has only worked for Pure Air for 2 months, but has been n the business for 38years. At this point, I did not care what Joe had to say. I just wanted him to take the payment and be gone. I started walking towards the door as a way to get him up and out. As we walked outside, he actually had the audacity to say, "I hope you enjoyed my service?" I wonder how a company with around 410 good reviews could have such a person working for them? I called Monday morning on the 13th to talk to someone in charge about Joe and what happened on Friday. I was connected to the VP Tiffany Riley. I told her what had happened. She seemed as shocked as we were. She asked if she wanted me to have her send someone back to do a proper check of our unit. I told her I didn't know. I would need to discuss with my husband having someone else from Pure Air come here. She asked what else could she do. I said that we could pay for the 3lbs of refrigerant at $60 a pound, but I did not agree with paying for the service preformed because I felt Joe did not do a thorough service check of our a/c. She agreed and said she would get the $59 that we bought through Angie's list back to us right away and to let her know if she could do anything else as she gave me her cell number to reach her. We live in Cape Coral. They are out of Naples. We have not received the check in over a week so my husband called Tiffany this morning to see what is going on. We have received mail from Tampa the next day, why have we not received this from Naples? Tiffany had no clue who my husband was. He explained to her that he was my husband and that I had talked to her last week. She said she thought she remembered. He continued to tell her that he did not agree with being charged anything because of how poorly we were treated, but since his wife had agreed to just get back the $59 he wanted to know why we had not received it. Tiffany then said that her boss was out of town and that was why. So your telling me that the VP of the company is not allowed to issue such a small amount back to a customer who is so grossly dissatisfied? Obviously our major complaint was not taken seriously. Just when you think a situation can not get any worse, it does!! I have never felt such disrespect, let alone, in my own home. I am appalled that if Tiffany took our complaint seriously, why would she not immediately contact the owner and figure out a way to make this better? The world is ever changing. If you don't like black people or Hispanic people or any other person who is not the same as you, you should probably not be in he customer service area....or at least, be smart enough to keep you opinions to yourself. I would never recommend this company to anyone.
