Started off great. The salesman came out around the requested time to survey and give a quote to replace our old A/C with a new state of the art unit. They were even able to come out the next day after giving us the quote to install the new unit. The service guys did a great job installing and everything looked very professional. The only downfall was when they were completed and came in to let me know they were finished up, I asked the tech if he could explain the new digital/wifi thermostat to me and he only showed me a couple things and said here's the manual to learn more. It felt like he was in a big hurry to get out of my house and didn't want to take the time to explain anything. So my wife and I spent a good part of the evening reading up about the new equipment so we could better know how to use it properly w/o messing anything up. And another disappointment (in my opinion) was the next day the salesman called up to ask how things went and to let me know he was going to stop by to check out his technicians work and answer any questions that we had. That was almost a month ago and still haven't heard or seen anything out of the salesman. Don't get me wrong, while different members of the company were at my home it was very professional, but in the end there was no follow up. Kind of feels like it was just another sale and then time to move onto the next home.

The systems that we install typically come with a wifi thermostat that can be programmed for different schedules and set points for the temperature. I'm not trying to brush your concerns off, but there is not anything you can screw up. Filters are very important. Other then that you can enter in a schedule or you can adjust the temperature manually with no schedule. Please call the office at 239-597-7873 and ask for myself. We can go a step further and enter your thermostats AUID number so that we can get alerts if your system should fail. Ok I usually don't do reviews but I do brag and tell the story about these guys every chance i get for all the the 4 things they done and beyond that. GREAT BUNCH they ALL were "SO REFRESHING TO DEAL WITH AND THE UTMOST PROFESSIONAL, NON PUSHY, NOT TRING TO OVER OR UPSELL YOU ANYTHING - I'm in sales i know the game... We live in Illinois & were notified by our home watch service that our a/c unit failed in our Florida condo. I called Mike Elkins at Pure Air for some quotes & choices to choose a new unit. The workers were very efficient completing the installation in one day as promised. They cleaned the work area and left it so you would not know anything was done. This was a $59 big deal purchase. They could have been more professional to complete the job in a timely manner. I guess the workers were unprofessional. It rained that day and the guy did not feel like being outside so he just decided to cut the job short. I said okay, then I will just cut my ties with you.

Called Pure Air because the air conditioner was not cooling. The service man called Mike to set up an appointment to see about getting a new air conditioner, He came out the same evening and set up an insulation for the next day. The installers did a great job. There was a small problem but it was handled with no problem. We are very pleased with the job they did. Great personal to work with. Would use them again.

It went fine. The service included one pound of refrigerant and he noticed that it was going to be a little bit over that. Because I was an Angie's List member, he did not charge me extra. I thought that was good. He was very professional and took the time to explain quite a few things to me. Checking the heating system was not included, even though it's an extension of the unit. I found out my heating did not work. I checked to see what it included because I thought maybe he forgot to do that. But he did not.

Although the technicians have all been nice, this job has been nothing but a disaster. After the new unit was put in (10/2014), it couldn't keep the temperature I set it to. My expectations were realistic, I simply asked it to keep my house at 77 during the day. Seems simple, right? After many, many, many months of complaining, multiple different techs at my house and repeated unreturned phone calls I ended up speaking to the owner (left him more than one message before getting a response). Eventually they discovered they sold me the wrong size unit - I wasn't making it up after all! They did end up replacing the unit with the correct size, 9 months later (07/2015)!! Currently I am still having problems with the drain line from the unit and a problem with the "top of the line" thermostat. I had a technician out over a month ago (11-12/2015). I asked him how to solve the drain line problem. He gave me two options, and I decided I was interested in running a new drain line. He stated that Mike, the owner, would be the one to tell me the cost. I told him twice to please make sure someone gets back to me on this. He said Mike would but to give him a week. I have yet to hear an answer. I called Mike (01/2016) and left a message on his cell phone (after waiting for several weeks). It has been over a week since my last message and yet again, no return call. I understand things not working correctly, I understand things breaking down, what I don't understand is being blatantly ignored. Beware, once they sell you the unit, you are on your own unless you fight tooth and nail! In response to Mike's statement: I have absolutely stated the facts and nothing more. I left two messages on the office phone prior to calling his cell phone and leaving him a direct message (during the most recent problem). I would happily provide proof of this to Angie's List were there the option to do so. My original complaint in 2014 was that the AC didn't keep up - thus the need for a new air conditioning unit. Furthermore, in July 2015 Mike acknoweldged that the technician didn't size the unit correctly and had incorrectly assumed my house was smaller than it was. In his response to me here he again acknowledges that a 3 ton unit is not large enough for my house. It is the HVAC companies responsibility to determine the correct AC size, not mine. I did receive a quote from one other company, I don't know if Mike saw that quote or not but quite frankly, it is irrelevant. Many people/companies within the same field will take different approaches to the same problem. They are each responsible for doing the work/quote correctly. I clearly stated that they replaced the unit with the correct size but apparently didn't specify that they did not charge me any more. That is true, and unfortunately seems to be what Mike is focused on. I still paid for the original unit, but did not pay anything additional for the correct size unit in July 2015. My complaint is (and remains) the lack of returning phone calls, lack of listening to the problem, and the length of time and many hours of me chasing them down it took to remedy the problem. Since leaving this review Mike called me yelling at me and berating me. He has stated that he will not fix the unit until I remove my review. He has stated that I am trashing him and he won't do business with people like me... Not exactly the approach I would have taken with a dissatisfied customer. I never intended to leave a negative review. I generally try to give people the benefit of the doubt but unreturned phone calls became such a repetitive problem I felt I had to say something. I actually had every intention of updating my review with a better "grade" after the unit was working properly but after being yelled at, blamed for the problem, and essentially blackmailed into removing the review, I couldn't. I would also like to note that I have left MANY other reviews on Angie's List and all except one have been positive "A" reviews. I am clearly not the annoying hypersensitive type that complains about everything. As I previously stated, people make mistakes. We all do. I am no exception to that, and I understand things happening due to an error or even something beyond our control. How we handle those mistakes is what speaks to our character.

This customer doesn't acknowledge that we put in a bigger system FOR FREE. They had a three tons there originally, they were quoted a three ton system from every other contractor, the three ton was never big enough for the house. My best guess is that the previous owner had found a used condenser on craigslist and had it installed to sell the home. Zillow reports that the Snow's bought the house in 2014. So, Pure Air took the system we originally installed out and installed a bigger new system FOR FREE. Let's state all of the facts please. Very poorly. Company did not honor the deal. However, they did refund the price I paid for the deal.

It's a new system in a newly built home but we have learned that preventive maintenance is cost-effective. We used Pure Air at a prior home and based on the prior visits by them, we hired them again for the new house. The tech told me that doing any work on the system would likely void any agreement with the HVAC installer, but because of Pure Air's reputation, I was comfortable with his doing the servicing. System running quite well and efficiently.

First, let me say that I had a variety of opinions/quotes regarding what I should do or what I should pay. When Novie (Sales/Part Owner I think...) came to our newly purchased home, I insistently felt comfortable about his knowledge and expertise when speaking to me about my options. Although Pure Air is not the cheapest game in town, I knew that I would rather pay a little more for the comfort of knowing that if there should ever be a problem with our new system, I had someone I could call 24/7. There were a couple of delays due to a couple of emergency calls they needed to handle and since we had not moved into the new home yet, I didn't mind the owner of the company calling me himself to first, apologize for the delay and then to reschedule a time that worked for all parties. The job itself was tricky due to limited access into the attic and crawl spaces, but they sent a crew that got the job done exactly how it was explained to me when meeting with Novie. The Crew Leader even called me to verify the location of the new return to be cut into the guest hallway. It took a full day just to remove and then install the new system so, they came back the very next day to clean & sanitize all the duct work in the house. Now that we have fresh & clean conditioned air, (PURE-AIR) my wife is happy to be at the house in a kool environment, so that we can finish remodeling the rest of the our home in comfort! (Obviously, I did not use Angie's List for some of the remodeling otherwise, I would be writing several other reviews on how great Angie's List has helped us find the right people for the right job! On a side note: I work in construction myself and deal with a number of inspections as well as inspectors in my day to day routine and when it came time for the county to do the inspection, he came and did his inspection and at the end came to me and said that, "This was the first inspection that I have passed on the VERY FIRST VISIT with the newly implemented codes for our area and they did an exceptional job!!" Thanks Angie's List and thanks PURE-AIR for a job well done!
