Overall I was very pleased. The workmanship was excellent. It was done quickly and neatly. The workers were very pleasant and professional. When they left they took all the old equipment and scrap material with them. If it were not for one issue of not replacing an existing copper line that had a kink in it (as promised by the salesman), I would have given them an "A" on Quality. The system is operating fine with the existing kink but I would have felt better had it been replaced. I still would use them again in spite of this issue.

Removing the old ductwork was very labor intensive being they had to cut it into pieces in order to remove it. It was the original hard metal ductwork from 1973. It was extremely inefficient and had to be replaced. The employees were very professional and very good at what they were doing. Everyone I dealt with went out of their way to make sure all of my questions and concerns were addressed. The new system has been working very well with better air flow and I am anticipating lower electric bills. Another big advantage to using Pure Air and a Trane unit is it has a lifetime warranty which is transferable when we sell this house.

It is refreshing to see a hands on owner that works to assure that his clients are happy with their installation. I have been very pleased with the staff starting with Mike Elkins (sales) to the technicians (installers). The end result was a professional installation and a very pleased client. Having dealt with 6 or 7 a/c vendors in the Naples area for my condo, I can say with a high degree of confidence that in every measure from ethics, competence, commitment and quality, Pure Air Conditioning is number 1...by a very large margin.

Sorry to hear of your displeasure with my company. I have spoken with my technician who assures me that washing your coil would have disentegrated it further, as the unit was in very poor condition. When a system is as corroded as yours, the aluminum fins can simply break off with something as simple as water pressure. I assure you my technicians all carry hoses on their trucks. My technician does however have in the notes that the drain was clogged and that he unclogged it.. It is possible that it was so clogged that something else broke loose and clogged it again. We would have happily returned at no charge. I feel the root of your complaint is the quote for replacement that my technician provided you. We sell mainly Trane air conditioning systems, which are consistently the highest quality of air conditioning systems. Made in America. Beware of these guys.. He was removed from Angie's list once. I'm not sure why he is back again. Him back on Agie's with an "A" rating makes me question the whole process. I had a brand new Trane unit put in by Pure Air. I hired these guys because the flyer delivered to my home said, "#1 ON ANGIE'S LIST." The guy who came to my house, Novie, told me that there is a leak and it would cost me between $1600 to $2K to fix it. He offered me a very sweet deal, which included 1 yr labor and 3 yrs of extended warranty. He made it even sweeter by offering to install it unit next day. The catch, I had to pay a non-refundable $3500 on the spot (I should have smelled how rotten this deal was.) I signed the contract as it was very hot and I was made believe that I would be stupid if I pass up on this best deal in town. I called another installer the next day and was told they could do it at least $1K less than I had paid. I was taken advantage of the situation. I ended up talking to the owner Micheal Crothers who must be the meanest bully in the business world. He cursed me out over the phone and basically told me to go f**k myself (please read my Yelp review.) Fast forward to April. The new unit stopped cooling off. I called the company and was told I was on their "DO NOT SERVICE" list and told me to find some else. I didn't think much of it. Called a guy who didn't want to do anything as I was still supposed to be covered under warranty. However, he added Freon and things were fine until this Nov. Same thing happened again. Called them back, was told the same thing; "WE DON'T SERVICE YOU." Contacted couple of other companies and they all verified that the condenser coil has been leaking from the time it was installed, I contacted Trane directly and unfortunately they referred me back to the installer. I'm looking into other options as it's a breach of contract. I have always supported local business, but not anymore after the experience I had with this guy.

Well, this isn't fun to respond to. I don't want anyone thinking I'm responding out of spite. However, I feel the need to address what I know as facts, as I run a reputable business with over 600 reviews and an A grade, here on Angie's List alone. For starters, we were this customers second quote on a new air conditioning system. There was no taking advantage of anyone here. We required a deposit because we were going to install the system the next day to appease the customer. We subsequently had to move another installation for someone who's system was cooling to another day. Let's go down the list of things you are conviently forgetting: 1) The system was installed on the 25th of August, 2015. You apparently called around while we were finishing our installation and found another contractor giving price quotes over the phone. You then in turn refused to pay the balance due after your deposit, $4000.00. 2) After you explained to me that you would right bad reviews all over the internet if I didn't take $1000 off, I, Michael Crothers the owner of Pure Air, agreed to knock $300 off of the remaining balance and told you in return you would not be our customer anymore. I explained that we charge $295 for a three year maintenance plan, and you were foregoing this as it was originally included in the installation contract. The contract you signed for a total price of $7500, not the $7200 you paid. 3) The system passed it's first inspection by the county on August 31st, 2015 as it was installed and working properly. 4) You also filed a complaint that proves that you had an unlicensed contractor add refrigerant to your system on April 2nd, 2016, 8 months after our installation. This doesn't sound like an air conditioner leaking from day one to me. By the way, August is one of the hottest months of the year in southwest Florida. Pure Air spent the time to do a thorough inspection of the house and submitted a proposal for the necessary work with recommended options. I had multiple bids for the work but Pure Air was the company I went with for a number of reasons.The initial contact was with Michael Elkins the Sales Manager who walked me through he proposal. There was no pressure or a heavy sales pitch. He told me what to expect concerning the installation and we scheduled a date. The installation team showed up and upon closer inspection we needed to adjust a few items to accommodate the system with what I had planned to do in the future. The team led by Cesar could not have been more helpful in determining the best way to layout the air conditioning system for the optimum results. My experience with air conditioning companies over the years has not been worth mentioning with two exceptions. Pure Air is one of the exceptions. I would recommend this company to anyone who is tired of false claims and hidden fees.They stand behind their work and go the extra mile for the best results for the customer. I just retired from being the Director of Operations for the U.S. Open Golf Championship for 23 years and I would take this company on the road if I were still involved with the Open. I was very satisfied the the installation process. I have since had a situation arise where I needed a service call this December.......turns out that the common drain line was clogged and backed up. The float switch did its job by shutting the system down and prevented a water overflow. The owner of PureAir personally responded to my call within 1/2 hour and diagnosed and corrected the problem.
Description of Work: I had the HVAC system replaced in my condo. It started as a service call on my "old" system that resulted in my replacing my 16 year old system with new Trane equipment.

Horribly. Two years ago I needed a new A/C in our condo, which is only occupied during high season (three-four per year.) I engaged Pure Air, and installed a new Rheem system for a total cost of $5000. The unit had a five year parts and one year labor warranty, and the purchase included a three-year maintenance agreement (which stated "Never a service call charge.") Last weekend, the unit froze up and ice was present all over the filter. A repairman came out and found the freon two pounds low. He thawed out the unit (with our hair dryer, I might add - he didn't bring one) and replaced the freon. We arranged for Pure Air to come back early this week to search for a freon leak, which they found. This is where it got nasty. They gave us an estimate of approximately $900 in labor and materials to cover the service call, the thawing out, the freon replacement, and the replacement of the evaporator coil (the site of the leak.) Pure Air is no longer installing Rheem units, because according to them, Rheem began making their evaporator coils in China and the problem was due to poor manufacturing processes in that country. (FYI, Rheem is currently facing a class action suit by customers who had the same problem as us - it's being alleged that Rheem knew of the problem and continued to sell the units.) Mike was a very nasty man who has no empathy for homeowners who less than two years ago spent $5000 with his company for a new A/C unit. He demanded we pay the original service call, and all labor and freon costs for replacing the unit. He maintains the $900 charge for all of this is a discounted price - I maintain it can't be. My wife and I both spoke at length with him and got nowhere. He basically wanted the customer to eat all the losses to keep himself whole. He was nasty and belligerent with my wife, and with me also. We offered to split the cost of installing the new part with him, but he thought that idea was absurd. In the end, we hung up on each other with us refusing to pay him anything. I am amazed because Pure Air has such a good rating here on Angie's List. But... anyone can have a good rating when everything is going swell. It's when problem like these pop up that people and companies show their true colors. Pure Air has certainly shown us theirs. Buyer, beware.

1) We do not charge for the service call if you're on a maintenance plan with us. However, when we are there for over an hour defrosting a coil which we must do in order to add the proper refrigerant charge and then find the leak, there will be labor charges and a cost for the refrigerant. 2) Rheem does a have a class action lawsuit against them for their defective coils. 3) Pure Air is an independent contractor which services all brands, and gets no money from any brand in order to do so. 4) Showing a company's true colors does not mean getting cursed at by a customer, doing something for free because a customer considers his 2014 install a new system, and having customers that do not even want to pay for the thawing out of the coil and the refrigerant. 5) I find that people that write scathing reviews calling someone a "nasty man" or people that refuse to pay a bill for services rendered are usually the same kind of people you don't want to do business with. 6) If the customer had a labor warranty we would have been happy to honor it, this customer did not, by a year. It's also important to note that you will pay more for an extended labor warranty for any installation, on anything, unless it is automatically provided by the manufacturer (washers, dryers, etc) So as it stands, a customer that does not want to pay his bill for services rendered is not my customer. The Guys were there right on time, kept me abreast of their progress through each step, explained everything in detail along the way. Mike and his team from the Pure Air did excellent job for me. I got a new AC without leaving Michigan! Mike coordinated all work for my at the job site, including a crane (the AC was installed on the 2 nd floor roof). We communicated well by phones, texts or emails. All process including final work was documented by the smart phone camera. All work at the site was done in 6 hrs. I`m extremely satisfied that I hired the Pure Air for this job. Last week I was in Naples again. The AC works with no problems. This was not the case as we agreed on a price $650-700. We returned the next day later then expected, due to the part not being in stock (blower motor on a Rheem system). We charged the customer $675 and included cleaning the blower wheel that Bruno Air expressed was completely full of mold. Too make a long story short, I believe your review is very unfair, however I respect your right to write it. If you feel that by us saving you thousands of dollars and getting ripped off by another contractor in town was not a service to you, then I do recommend you go elsewhere.
