Inspect and pump septic system

Acme Environmental Services was very nice, informative and efficient. I was able to go back to work afterwards they were so quick! They were such professional and knowledgeable gentlemen. I recommended them to others as well.

They were the most hustle free, in and out and did a great job. They were amazing and they responded back to me very fast.

I contacted acme by phone. They came out to survey the situation. We discussed the scope of the job. i received an estimate and authorized acme to proceed with the job; they returned the next day and completed the job in a completely professional manner. i would gladly work with them again should the need arise and I heartily recommend their services.

Several years ago a company broke the top on my septic tank. I had a lot of difficulty in finding some to commit to fix or replace the top. I found John on Angie's List and he said he would come look at the situation. He called me that day and gave me a complete explanation of what was needed and an estimate of the cost. He had to make a new lid in a different configuration than the original which was less costly but just as effective. We arranged to do the work on Saturday and he and the pumper truck showed up exactly on time. After the tank was open we of course discovered lots of roots which he removed. He did explain that due to the age of the drain field that it may have to be replaced later because of roots. They replaced the lid, recovered the tank, removed the roots and debris and left the yard neat and clean with no cleanup for me. He organized every step of the job well and had all of the right equipment. He answered all of our questions and if I need my drainfield replace I will certainly call him.

Drainfeilds are expensive and the work can cause havoc! For that reason, I researched and met with several companies before settling on Acme. When John Johnson and I first met, I could tell that he would be a man of his word and would NOT lead me down one path only to change directions along the way. John educated me on the options, shared with me a range of costs for each option and the date he would start and how long it would take. Other companies provided proposals, which proved to be more than what was required by the County and Health dept., required more distruction to my yard than was needed, as well as much more expense. John shared with me potential cost savings if things were discovered once he removed the old system. True to his word, John provided those savings to me when they were present. He was prompt in the starting date and time and early in the compleation. The Health Deparment inspector that reviewed the work was impressed in the quality of the work, as was / am I. Met all expectations

All went well.

Quick to call back, but slow to come out

ACME Environmental Services identified that I had a drain field problem (most likely due to tree roots wrapping around the old style pipe). They reviewed the situation and provided alternatives and estimates for each alternative. I decided to replace the entire septic tank and drain field. They obtained a permit (the longest part of the process) and then performed the work on the agreed upon day. The work was performed efficiently and everything was cleaned up when they were done. They explained the maintenance that would be required and how long I could wait before cleaning thew filter. I was very pleased with their work and the time they spent ensuring I understood everything. I will continue to use this company for servicing the septic tank.

Nice guys, good to work with. They recommended an engineer because of the complexity of the issue. We used the engineer for permitting. We got the permit, and the engineer said that he had told Acme everything there was to know about the specific job. There was a problem in the placement of the drainfield on the lot, and we failed inspection. I don't think they have ever failed an inspection before, and they were very upset. I think this was due to a miscommunication between the Engineer and Acme. We have been working with contractors a lot recently, and this kind of thing can happen when muliple people are involved. We judge a company not only on the total absence of "hiccups", but on how they are handled when they occur. John from Acme called in a crew and they brainstormed for a solution that would not involve any of the (ridiculously expensive) suggestions made by others. He ended up in moving the components to a different area, and we passed inspection that day. Some extra materials were involved that we paid for, he supplied the extra labor at no cost. Great final result. Acme have previously pumped our system, quickly, efficiently and at a good price. Even with the unexpected challenge posed by our site, John kept us informed each step of the way, and did everything he could to work towards a speedy and correct solution. I recommend them and will use them again.

The technician arrived within an hour of my phone call and identified the problem. He unblocked the pipes to get us back in business for the time being and showed me how to prevent blockage from coming into the house in the future. He didn't charge me anything for this visit (the truck is in the shop and they will come back when fixed and drain the septic for me). I was very pleased. He was here for an hour plus.

They came out within an hour of my call, which was great. I needed a new drain field. They are going to do the work within a couple of weeks, hopefully. He was very polite, and he explained everything. He was very knowledgeable. He knew what he was doing.
