From the moment I first contacted Household Termite and Pest Control, I was treated very professionally with a true sense of wanting to provide the best service possible. At scheduling I was told they were all booked up this week, yet after looking in more detail I was able to get an appointment within 2 days. The technician, Doug, showed up prior to the scheduled appointment time and everything was done in a professional and quick manner. I will definitely use this company going forward. Everyone I had contact with lived by the the true definition of customer service, which is so lacking in most businesses today.

Moving from Indiana to Pensacola just over a year ago, I knew my house had termites before I bought it, and negotiated that fact into the price. I contacted several termite exterminators for estimates. The national franchise exterminators were eliminated with a simple phone call. These people are not interested in eliminating termites, but just restricting their numbers to justify their monthly service fee. I contacted Dan the owner of Household Termite and Pest Control and was impressed. I invited him to our home for an estimate. Dan?s estimate was not the cheapest, but I was impressed by his expertise, knowledge, and his ability to calm the fears of Northerners who have never experienced the fear of termites. Dan was the only exterminator to notice that our house had been treated before, previous exterminators had drilled holes in the foundation to inject the pesticide, and as a result Dan offered us a discount because of his reduced labor costs. He explained in detail the pesticide Termidor and how it works. Although there were no visible signs of termites during my remodeling, in April 2012 there was a massive swarm of termites in our living room. I took pictures and actually saved some of the termites for Dan?s inspection. He identified them as typical subterranean termites. He explained, as did various sites on the Internet, his treatment might not eliminate one last swarm before the underground colony is destroyed, as the pesticide takes approximately 60 days to kill the colony. I agreed to hire Dan and his company. I asked that he wait several days after it rained so that the chemical would be totally absorbed by the soil under our house. Dan showed up several days later on time with his employee Doug. The two men did a detailed examination of the foundation of our house, and found several old termite tunnels but no active infestation. Dan instructed Doug on the procedure of application, and Doug proceeded to mix 100 gal. of pesticide to be injected in the soil under our house. Several dozen additional holes were drilled in concrete and cement blocks around the house, all properly filled later. All environmental regulations and restrictions were followed including the use of their own garden hose to mix chemicals. Doug wore the proper protective gear, as it was necessary for him to crawl under crawl spaces with only 8 in. of clearance. Dan refused to take any money upfront and insisted on being paid only after the work was completed - that is a real indication of a professional. Because the termites swarm in the month of April and this work was done in March 2013, I asked Dan to extend his warranty by one-month. I anticipated that the chemical would not take effect immediately and I would have another termite swarm in April 2013. If I had another swarm in April 2014 that would indicate that the treatment was not effective and the extra month on the warranty would cover that, he agreed. However, I believe that will be a moot point as there were no swarms this April. That means the pesticide probably reached the colony before the 60day window. Dan also offered to come out and spot spray any infiltration of termites that I might find during further demolition. Household has a low-pressure sales approach to a highly effective pest-control operation. I highly recommend this company to anyone who would rather kill termites then write checks. If you want it done right ? Dan?s the man.

He carefully sprayed my entire yard for ants and the next day I could not find a single ant. Before the treatment they were everywhere. I am very pleased. This company gave me a personal contact after the yard was sprayed to check on the result and promised to come back if the work was unsatisfactory. Such a pleasure to do business with them.

Dan and his crew always call before coming and always punctual. The treatments are effective as we don't see bugs. We once needed an out of cycle treatment because the spiders were bad that year and they came out and treated with no charge. Excellent and on time service! Both Doug and Danny are great to work with, and they listen to my needs and are very respectful and courteous. They also have integrity, which is not always a given. When they discovered that they had overcharged me, they called me immediately to apologize and to adjust my bill. I highly recommend this company. It was a rental house that I had called them about. The tenants thought that they saw termites. The guy came out, looked at it and said he did not see any termites. He also said that if they did see something, they keep a sample of it and he would come back. He was very nice and he did not charge me anything for coming by and saying that.

We have been using them for five or six years. They provide a thorough service. If I find any pest, then there is never a problem with getting them to come back out to treat again. They have always been on time. I would use them again in the future.

I found some wings that I thought were termite wings and thats why I called him. He told me I was right and they were termite wings. He inspected my home and could not find any evidence of termites. He said that he would not charge me anything because he didn't do any actual work but if I came across any other evidence to call him. If I need any pest control services done then I will call him because I appreciate his attitude and honesty.

Other than having to call him after waiting 30 min for him to show up, we had a great expirence. He came in and did the inspection and was very professional. Was very apologetic for being late and did a great job. Told us somethings we may want to watch, and offered us a monthly service package if we were interested in it. Will call again if the need comes up.

They were here when they said they would be, they wore shoe covers whenever they were in the house, they were kind and professional in everything they did. When, 4 weeks later, we noted some spiders again they came back the next day, retreated, and refused to allow me to pay them. This is real service! I have not signed up for quarterly treatments (at only $75.00/quarter). I would definitely recommend them without hesitation.

The estimator/technician was very professional and helpful. He answered all of my questions and was very patient. He very thoroughly checked the home and garage for signs of termites and even pointed out documentation he found of previous treatments and bonds on the home. Very impressed with the courtesy of the phone service when making the appointment and with the services offered and provided for pest control. Very reasonably priced when compared to other local services.
