Description of Work: Painted the living room (vaulted walls), wall leading upstairs and dining room. Also painted some doors, baseboards and crown molding in dining room and hallway. Not the best detail work on baseboards and door frames, but overall a very good job. The only other issue is that the painter did not speak English so he to call his boss if we had a question.

Description of Work: I purchased a pressure cleaning special they offered through Angie's List. They cleaned my cement fence and we also had them do some additional work. They did an excellent job.

Description of Work: I paid for 40 ft of rotten wood repair and they replaced 4 ft. The problem with paying up front and the contractor not seeing the job to be done is that when they tried to do the job it was a lot more involved and actually needed a roofer to be able to do the job. The name on the van of the people doing the job was not the name of the company that I paid. At one point they walked off the very incomplete job. Painting the repaired wood was to be included. I needed 65 ft of wood repair, so was to pay an extra $150.00 for that work. They tried to get me to pay that up front as well. Thank goodness I did not. I agreed to give them a glowing survey so that they would paint the 65 ft of wood, which I discovered was in good condition. I filled out some survey that was on my computer, but was not Angie's List. They then also expected me to do some survey on Google, which I deleted. When I demanded they at least paint the 65 ft he said that was agreed to for the whole job. I felt that as they only repaired 4 ft instead of 40 ft, which I had paid for the least they could do was paint the 65 ft. He then started to lie and say the offer was for up to 40 ft and not actually 40 ft, which is not what the offer says. |I am quite bothered by this event and do not feel that Angie's List contractors are well vetted. I do not expect to find the company I have paid is subcontracting out the work. I had a problem many year ago when that happened to my house I was selling. They found a lien on my house from a company I had got through Sears. I had paid Sears off in full. Years later I found the subcontractor had put a lien on my house and when the attorney contacted Sears they refused to show that they had paid the subcontractor. The only reason I did not have to pay out a couple of thousand dollars was that the company no longer existed. |I have more work to do on the house, which is why I renewed with Angie's List, but now I am feeling very nervous about using your contractors or even recommending your company to anyone.

Description of Work: They arrived when they said they would. The job was completed in 2 days. My home is not easy to paint and I was very satisfied with the job done.

Description of Work: Removed old paint and rust from large iron gate. Repainted it white.

Description of Work: The painter showed up on time and ready to start work right away. He prepared tools and supplies quickly and started painting shortly. Overall, the painter was clean and polished. However, was was not as responsive to comments and suggestions as we would have liked. He worked the hours we paid for and cleaned up well before leaving.
