Description of Work: I called Reef and spoke to owner on the phone. Gave him a list of things I needed done and asked him to send his best employee that spoke English. I told him I had another appointment I had to attend but his guy can stay there, but I need him there early so I could make it. He set up a date and said no problem. | |A week later was the appointment we set up. Two guys show up 15 minutes late already. I answer the door, and not to my surprise, neither speak a lick of English. Great, I've had only bad experiences when this is the case, hence why i made it clear on the initial phone call. So i called the owner (Victor, i think is his name) and asked why did i get two spanish speakers. he says oh i had to send him on another job. i told him i asked specifically for an English speaker. it makes my life easier to explain what i need done. He states that its no problem, i can call him to translate. | |So now I have to cancel my appointment to watch these two guys try to do work. As I stated earlier, i told the owner what i needed done. these guys show up without the correct tools. I prefer a nail gun to be used when installed door casing. I prefer a tile saw when cutting tile for windowsills, not a multitool with a circular blade. (which they tried to use and made non straight cuts and used up all the tile i had for the project. | |my bathroom door needed to be adjusted before putting on the casing. they didn't seem to get that at first, so i had to call the owner and tell him to tell his guys that theres a gap and needs to be fixed before the casing is installed. they were pretty much about to use a hammer to nail the casing in. i asked him if they had a nail gun. no they don't, they don't need one, it will be fine with a hammer......umm, ok. a true carpenter would have a nail gun for this project, IMO. so i told them to forget it cuz they are going to screw that up even more. next thing, the tile. so I'm watching this guy cut tile without a tile saw. I'm cringing. its chipping, the lines aren't straight and he's cutting the tile into smaller sections. Why not cut the tile long ways and have less cuts in the sill? he cut my tile into 6 small pieces instead of cutting into two and using it that way. i didn't get that either. | |an issue came up with the tile. apparently the wall wasn't plumb. i saw that when the two spanish speakers pointed it out. ok, what solution do you have? they told me then would let the tile stick out and then i plaster the wall out some more to make it even. sorry, I'm not going through all that work again. to plaster, dry, replaster, paint etc. the reason why they could cut the tile at an angle and make it even with the current wall was because they DIDNT HAVE A TILE SAW. common sense. at this point i am livid. i have called victor(?) about 8 times already. he is even becoming frustrating with me. which he shouldn't cuz he said he was there for communication. but if i am paying for something, i want it done right. i am at the point where i am going to explode, so i have my girlfriend call him. she explains to him the situation from beginning to end and he gets snappy and raises his voice at her. uhhh, no this isn't going to happen. first you don't raise your voice at customers, and secondly, don't do it to my girlfriend. you have no right when you send guys without equipment, that can't do the work, and cannot accommodate a customers initial requests. | |they seem to have a good rating on here, so this is why i inquired with them. but maybe its for the cleaning portion. and maybe they should stick to cleaning and let professionals do construction work. I will not recommend this guys company because of his negative attitude and his employees negative competency.
