They were courteous and they did the job.

Called Ed Helms specifically (rated A at the time) because they were "closer" than the other "A" people above them. Firstly, they told me in order to "process my request for emergency service at 5:30 pm, I needed to give them a credit card for $150 up front. I was very concerned about this and told them so.... Another person got on the line and said they do this because of "travel time" and the possibility of a "cancellation". I did go ahead and gave them a credit card (which was used toward the labor). The first visit came at around 7 pm. Immediately, there was a problem found. Our AC compressor (2001) fan was not rotating. The cost for this (including Angie's List coupon)? $592.00! The service man replaced the fan. Of course he said that our AC condenser was old and we need to think about replacing it. This was basically all he did. Before he left, I checked the vents and they were "cooler, not cold". I told him this and he said, "give it time". The next day, no cooler. I went to work and again came home to a "warm" house. I recalled Ed Helms. They told me "the service guy said I would call". They said he wrote that our AC needed replacement. I told them that I knew our AC was "old" (by today's standards) but at this point I need to have a bit of time to look into replacing the AC system. They sent another person out who arrived at around 5:30. First thing, $150 up front! I asked why - because I called Ed Helms to help with the original call and they did not. Of course, the service guy was very company oriented and said "I understand"..... He then did a much more thorough check and found our Compressor dirty (which he cleaned) ( the first guy also mentioned the dirt) and a compacitor was replaced. He checked the pressures etc.... This charge was $345 ( with another Angies list coupon)! I cannot even breakdown to tell my husband!!!! The AC is cooler now, not the best given the understanding that I need to replace. What would help is if Ed Helms would apply all these charges to a new system that is compatible with other companies....I personally think they are way overpriced.

I thought that he did a good job. He did the job and stayed out of my way. They were friendly and they just came when they were supposed to and did their job.

Showed up as expected. Quickly diagnosed the problem (burned out cutout box outside). Informed me that technically, the wire was undersized. I decided to stick with what had been working for 15 years and hope that the box would suffice. After two months, it's been fine. Edd Helms is not the cheapest, but I've used them 3 or 4 times now and always had a good experience.

Ed Helms Electric was very professional. They were very prompt and timely. They're not the cheapest but that's fine.

Expected new re-wiring..turned out to be a blown fuse. Mr Diaz was very professional and very prompt and I would definitely hire them again. Janice in the office was very helpful and returned my call promptly. Good job.

Excellent This is the fifth time we are using Ed helms and we would definitely use them again. They are prompt and reliable.

The guy was on time, a pro, did the job

It was excellent. All the technicians are very courteous and their work is very reliable.

Badly. They gave us an unrealistic date that they could perform the work. They said it would be a few days, but it took three weeks and caused our roofers problems working around them. They blamed permitting, but the code did not change until after they were to have completed the work. The result was that we have an ugly bracket in the ceiling of our porch. They did not fit the hoses right, and they had to come back to fix it. Recently they had to come out because the controls were not set correctly for the heater to run.

The installers came as scheduled and were licensed professionals. They did the work efficiently and were pleasant. We did have to get a new air handler 5 years ago as our old one too old to fix, and at the time we were not Angie's List members and so we picked a company that was referred to us by our condo management. The Edd Helms installer told us of a number of violations this previous installer made when our old handler unit had been installed, which was not good. The previous installer also didn't make it clear to us 5 years ago that we would need to upgrade to this new R410 coolant that FL State Law now requires, so we didn't make the change over back then (continued using a freon unit) and now we've had to pay to do it the right way since our air compressor was on it's last leg. I would highly recommend Edd Helms for their professionalism and how well they explained the whole process and their reliability. We are enjoying our new AC and it's warranty guarantee!

Overall, things went pretty well although the technician did initially think that I needed to pay for the maintenance service that was being performed even though it was actually the second of two prepaid yearly maintenance visits. However, once I provided a copy of my receipt showing that I had previously paid for this service call this issue was resolved fairly quickly . In short, the technician arrived in a timely fashion and seemed to be very knowledgeable and competent as I have found most of their technicians to be which is why I have continued to use Edd Helms for both A/C and electrical repairs for the past seven years or so. The only draw back is that they are a little on the pricey side but as the saying goes you get what you pay for which is precisely why I continue to use them.

My experience has been very good. They are always on time and they send people who know what they are doing. They are reasonably priced and they follow up with me after the appointment.

I asked my husband to change some lightbulbs. He told me that it was an electrical problem and that i needed to call the electrician. Ed Helms confirmed the appointment, and they were very punctual. The tech was quick and fixed the issue. We were charged for the service call, and I would ABSOLUTELY use them again.

Very pleased in all details. They come out when you expect, do the work professionally, explain all options and pricing is fair. And great service when you talk to someone on the phone to set up the appointment. Definitely recommend.

They stated I would need a new AC system. Once, I was able to get my regular AC guy he said I didn't need a new one and was able to fix it for $400. When I called them back they stated I must have received a cheaper price.

The price was a little on the high side but they did a good job.

We moved into the house a few months ago and wanted to have a few things checked that didn't seem to be working properly, especially since it is an older house. Also, we needed to have a light fixture installed. Mr. Kozar took care of everything in a professional and efficient manner. He showed us a few things that we needed to know, but mainly assured us that there were no major issues that should be of concern. In addition to his skills, I was most impressed with the fact that he made sure that he finished the work in a timely manner so that he didn't have to charge us an additional hour of labor. I think that is the first time that I've ever been extended that courtesy. Such a positive experience insures that we will use the services of the Edd Helms Group again when needed.

Edd Helms Group were decent. They are definitely high on the price. They pretty good at responsiveness. I got them off Angie's List and it was kind of a bummer, because I thought they were more local than they were. I was trying to stick with contractors in our principality and for some reason they showed up as being in Palmetto Bay, but they were driving from Fort Lauderdale or something. Had I known that I probably wouldn't have used them just because I was staying with locals. Their service was good. They were good, but I probably won't use them again. I think had I looked a little harder I could have probably found better pricing. I had other contractors that went above and beyond and in comparison these guys were just okay. There was one big ugly part that we talked about and they never fixed. They were responsive. If I called them they would answer. It was a big contract so they better answer. They took commission later for the stupid smoke alarm. They were on time and showed up when they said they would. I probably won't use them again. They were responsive and did show up on time. My biggest complaints were that they were not actually local and they were on the high side for what I thought was a pretty easy job.
