The technician who's name was Scott, was very nice and great to work with. He inspected our system. He concluded that it needed to be replaced. He went to the Home Depot with me to pick out a new system. He then installed the new system. I was so pleased with the service that I plan on using this company again in the future.

Very competent, professional electrician installed above outdoor lighting for my patio on Jan 12 2009.

PLUS: On time, professional, bill accurately reflects work done (including the fact that apprentice was 1/2 hour late); they found that prior work was not done properly; alerted me to the presence of termites in the attic; MINUS: The problem was that I had one person come and assess what needed to be done, and then a second team came to do the job; I feel I paid for nothing when the first person came because the second team did their own assessment and admitted that they had not spoken to the person who did the first service call. This is the reason for the overall "B" rather than "A" rating COSTS: They are expensive, service call is $50, per hour for the technician is $94 and for the apprentice is $62. I had the service call fee waived for the second team because it was considered the same issue.

Very negative experience. My wife was the one here and she said the guy was extremely fresh with her and she had to put him in his place. He made her very uncomfortable. I made the appointment myself so I explained exactly what was wrong to the company. I had tried to fix the porch light myself and I could see it was just a bad connection inside the light fixture. If I put the bulb in just right and angled the wires the right way I could get it to work. When the company came out, all they did was tilt the wires around just as I had to make it work temporarily and told my wife he had fixed it. He also told us the reason the outlet wasn't working was that it was a GFI and was connected to 3 other outlets. One of the other outlets was tripped so all he did was push a button to reset it and the outlet began working. The repairs probably took him 5 minutes. It looked like everything was fixed when he left and he charged us $160. The next day (when we had the party) the light was not working again. When I opened the light fixture I realized the only thing he did was tilt the wire. It was the exact same situation as before. He hadn't done anything. He just did temporary work.

Since this company had a very good rating on the list, I called them to arrange for a ceiling fan installation (I had not dealt with this company before). The lady who answered the phone was polite and knowledgeable, and she told me the price for a service call and their hourly rate. I made an appointment for one of their electricians to come to the house the next day, and he arrived right on time. Before beginning work, he told me that Angie's List members get a 10% discount on labor, something that I had not known. He installed the fan, made sure it was balanced and worked correctly, and cleaned up.

Initially there were some problems, but they were fixed. I would use them again in the future if necessary.

Top-notch sales experience. Angel spent time helping us think through our needs, which made us go with Ed Helms as opposed to other companies. Service technicians were excellent - 3 were sent to install our system, as the air handler was in the attic, requiring additional difficulties. The men were professional, polite (no swearing when things went wrong during the installation!), and clean! They left the place spotless! We love the system and it meets our needs perfectly. Not the cheapest system, but quality is great. We noticed a reduction in electric bills immediately. Only problem with Ed Helms is follow up. Although you get lovely letters of "thanks for your business", I have tried repeatedly to get a copy of the closed permit for the AC installation. The inspection failed twice and schedulers could not seem to get things straight. I have yet to receive the closed permit (it ultimately did pass inspection) even though we have called multiple time to request a copy. Today I sent a polite note back to them on their "thank you" letter. Let's see if that gets some action. Would recommend that anyone using Ed Helms be vigilant about the paperwork. I also think that we failed to get the 10% discount promised to Angie's List customers...Although I sent the coupon, it did not ultimately appear on the invoice....and after you've signed the contract, the deal is done! Bottom Line: top quality products, marketing, and technical service, but the administrative "surround" needs a bit of work.

They appeared when they were supposed to. They were courteous and prompt. They did what they said they would. I would recommend them to others. They provided the service that cost specified.

I called the company. The dispatcher called someone on the road and called back to say the electrician would be at my home within an hour, and he was. He was polite, explained the problem(the dimmer switch was bad)and fixed it. While he was there, I asked about another light fixture in the kitchen that was flickering. He said it was not an electrical problem, and that all I had to do was buy a new bulb and change it(which I subsequently did). He even showed me how to take out the bulb. I live in a condo with strict rules for contractors and workmen, and the electrician apparently parked in the wrong place(not his fault, the building security directed him). So there was a little drama until security realized he was working in the building without signing in and obtaining a security pass. So he had to put the work aside briefly and go sign in. He took it in good cheer.

The estimate was very thorough for the work and the people who came to put the unit in were excellent. They all cleaned up after themselves and they were very polite. They also explained what they were doing. I use them on two different houses, the experience was the same with them even though I had two different people come out, all of their employees seem just as good.

He was very polite, very efficient, and did a marvelous job! I have no complaints.

Entire process went very well!! They went out to our property exactly when they said they would and presented us with a very reasonable bid. Excellent communication and professionalism.

A $94 charge is required for an estimate. Given the overall glowing reviews on AngiesList, I felt it a safe bet that I would at least get a competitive estimate, so it seemed a reasonable investment in researching a large job. There was a week delay for the earliest estimate. The technician was prompt and courteous. I was quoted what must surely have been the Cadillac of implementations at approximately $7000. Two quotes from other companies came in at less than half that amount and I went with one of them instead. I am sure this company does good work and that their solution may even have been technically superior, but they need to offer their customers options if there are several ways to accomplish a job and the price points of each are so drastically different. (And in restrospect, their charging a fee for the estimate when they have such comfortable profit margins really smarts.)

It went very smoothly. I called, got a quick answer and an appointment the following day. The tech showed up on time, did the work quickly and efficiently and cleaned the place up.

They came out on a Saturday night and fixed it for us because it was an emergency. They was polite, nice, and on time. We give him a ten out of ten.

They were very timely. They finished up within an hour so they stayed within their hourly rate. The workers were very knowledgeable. They gave me some other advice on electrical system. They gave me an analysis of the job and what I should and should not do.

It turned out good. They did a good job. They cleaned up after themselves. They didn't scratch my new countertops.

This company is very well known. They are prompt, punctual and professional in their dealings with their customers. They took away the old heat pump and cleaned up very well.

All of the aforementioned services took the entire period of 4 days/ 8 hours daily, with a half-hour for lunch. Both of the two employees were very prompt, professional, and courteous at all times. My services began promptly on August 4, 2008 at the time agreed upon, and ended accurately as estimated on August 7, 2008. The company's estimator originally gave me an estimate of about $4800, or I could exercise an option of the two-person team (electrician and apprentice) completing all work contracted for a flat fee of $6000. I selected the hourly rate option because I knew that I might have additional electrical work around my home that I might want them to complete which required them to crawl around in my very hot roof attic.. I would strongly suggest to anyone having extensive electrical work that might become messy as my installation of recessed lighting did; purchase "painter's plastic," or a few drop cloths; and be explicit that you prefer to do your own clean up. By cleaning up after the work was completed, I saved money; because I preferred the electricians to be working on the next project which I wanted to be completed. Mr. Amauri Diaz, electrician; and his apprentice, Mr. Frantzson Joseph do excellent work. They are are asset to the company, and because of them, I would never hesitate to hire this company's employees to work for me again. While they were working in my home, I learned that it takes four years of documented good work performance before an electrician is be allowed to take the FL state licensing exam I did not know this, and now because of this information from them I have a respect for the work that they perform everyday. Although this company's price estimates may not be the lowest in the industry, I now know that due to their training standards for their electricians; and the quality of work done by these two employees, it was worth every cent for the quality of work that I received.

Left message and early in the morning and call was returned promptly. Technician came on time. Work was performed promptly.

They returned my call promptly, and when Edd Helms Electric and I spoke this morning, they asked if the sparks were coming from the wall or the lamp. When I explained it was coming from the lamp itself, he recommended he not come out because it was a problem with the lamp. I appreciated him telling me that on the phone so I did not have to pay for a service call.

I called on a Thursday and made an appointment for the following Monday. The electrician - Scott Davis, very nice guy - showed up on time and got right to work. After taking down the old fixture, he put up the new one and also assembled it. A switch that wasn't working in one of our rooms - another electrician had stated that the fixture was broken - was taken apart (Scott discovered it wasn't even connected!) and fixed/replaced. Scott also discovered that another switch for an outdoor lighting wasn't working (we've got way too many switches), investigated and found out that the wiring of the lamp was disconnected. All in all, he spent 3 hours and did a thorough and excellent job. I'd definitely hire them again! They charge by the 1/2 hour plus a service call fee. Probably not the cheapest one, but definitely worth the money.

I WAS TAKEN BACK BY THE COST JUST TO COME OUT AND OTHER QUALITY PROVIDERS THAT WERE AVAILABLE FOR HALF.

The VP of company arrived as scheduled and provided a lot of information. However, the quote he promised via e-mail NEVER arrived. I'd called and left an e-mail to remind them of my pending quote and no response from company.
