When I evaluated what he submitted to me and made my choices, an appointment was made to work with my schedule. Brian, the electrician that did the work was prompt, courteous, respective of my requirements, efficient and willing to answer any questions that I had. A problem popped up the next day and Mr. Pingston responded immediately sending Brian out to resolve the problem in the tight time frame I had to work in, to my satisfaction. I would not hesitate to recommend Pingston Electric.

The cost of the job was setup based on time and materials .

Mr. Pingston came at the agreed upon time and performed the electrical inspection as advertised on Angie's List and provided a clear, concise written report of that inspection. He looked at three GFI receptacles I was having difficulties with and explained the code upgrade would be included with the outdoor one as the code had changed since the house was built. He also explained the other two GFIs were wired together though they were in separate parts of the house and one was interior and one was exterior. We decided together it would be better to have them wired separately. It was agreed to replace one outdoor GFI receptacle adding an "in use "cover and one indoor GFI. He provided a written estimate and a job date with 72 hours of the quote. His workman returned within that timeframe and completed the work quickly and politely. I would hire Mr. Pinston again for any electrical needs. He certainly knows his business and as picky as insurance companies are getting, an inspection from his company could be a valuable tool in dealing on a claim. I would recommend this company to my neighbors and friends.

All the work was performed today, October 16th, by a very pleasant and knowledgeable technician in a short period of time. He arrived punctually which is always nice. We will certainly use John Pingston for all our future electrical needs as well as refer friends and neighbors. Gloria Sproule

John was contacted to provide larger capacity service from the meter to my in-laws mobile home. He was prompt and got the job done in a professional manner.

I am looking forward to the work being done and I will give a review on that at the completion. He will be installing hardwired smoke, carbon monoxide detectors. There will be one on the first floor hall, second floor hallway and one in each of the two bedrooms upstairs. This allows all of the detector to sound the alarm when the one downstairs sounds off enabling anyone in the house to be alerted. I am not able to explain the second item except that it has to do with outside wiring. Because our garage is not attached to our house it requires the garage will done as one unit and the outside outlets attached to the house to be a second unit. Sorry I cannot explain it better.....I understood it when he was explaining it to me but I can't repeat it. John did tell me that because of some of the newer requirements in place by some of the insurance companies he is concerned that if someone has damage due to fire, etc insurance companies may not pay a claim. I know I only have two smoke alarms that run on a battery. I am going to feel much more secure in knowing I am now upgrading I will feel much safer and if I did have a claim it has a better chance of being paid.

After receiving 3 estimates from local electricians referred through Service Magic, I decided Pingston Electric had a better reputation and did a more thorough inspection of what my job would require. They were not the least expensive, but went further than the others in identifying the need to change out the main panel (outside) in addition to the service panel (inside). When the guys arrived to perform the work, they were professional and polite. Unfortunately, the new service panel was quite a bit larger and required some manipulation and modification of the "hole" to fit. In the process, one of the wires leading to a bedroom was accidentally "clipped" and had to be spliced with new wire. In addition, while hammering the new panel to get it to fit into the new "hole", the wall board on the other side (in the hallway) suffered a small crack and they had to patch and repaint a portion of the wall. Luckily, I still had a small amount of matching paint available in the garage. While they were removing the meter to replace the main panel (outside), they discovered there was a problem with the insulation on the FPL wires leading to the meter. It was burned off to within half an inch of the can and arching had damaged the connections within the meter can. As a result, work had to be done and parts obtained (meter can) that was not in the original estimate and FPL was called out to repair the FPL wiring and insulation. Pingston also installed a new grounding rod as part of the original estimate, which FPL insisted was needed before they completed their repairs. Except for frustration related to the clipped wiring, the damaged wallboard, and discovering the meter can damage, all went well and work was completed the same day. The only problem I had with this company was their overcharging for the meter can. When that problem was discovered, John Pingston was onsite and he said they could run by Home Depot to pick up the part. When I asked how much it would cost to do that work, he quoted me $150 for the part and $100 for labor. Being totally without electric power at that point, I OK'd the additional work and was charged the extra $250 on the invoice. Later I went to Home Depot and discovered that the actual retail price of the meter can was around $40. BUYER BEWARE!

Needed some minor electrical fixes. Trouble shooting and repair of a couple bad outlets and switches. Scott bid the job and performed the work within the bid. He was fast and very professional

It went well, on time, clean, also fixed kitchen light, and door bell. No problems.
