I called PINGSTON ELECTRIC to check out a breaker that kept tripping. A simple breaker switch was replaced and I was charged $469. It was a 20 minute job and I was charged for almost 2 hours of time. When questioned I was told it was commute time. UNBELIEVABLE!!!! Also, 2 electricians were sent and I was charged by the hour for both!!!! I do not see the need for 2 electricians to change a breaker. I would stay away from this company....unless you like being taken advantage of. $469 to replace a circuit breaker, that they were told was tripping..... unjustifiable!

He was courteous and professional. He even replaced the battery in a smoke detector in my home that I couldn't reach which was above and beyond the work he was sent here to do.

He's is always there to help, even if it is just advice by phone during emergencies. I have been using his services for about 3 years, they are great.

Within an hour the technician identified the source of the problem and corrected it.

The following work was performed: (1) electrical inspection, 01/25/18, $175 (price rating: A); (2) "LOAD" side improvements & repairs, 02/13/18, $1,636 (price rating: A); and, (3) power distribution assembly, plus "LINE" side improvements & repairs, 02/15/18, $2,432 (price rating: B). For Item (2) above: improved, repaired, replaced, or added: (1) doorbell button, (2) smoke and CO detector, (3) phone wall jacks, (4) secure feed and outside disconnect panel to sprinkler system time clock, (5) seven (7) Customer Furnished Equipment (CFE) light fixtures, (6) kitchen lights ballast and bulbs, (7) dimmer to dining room lights, (8) GFCI to protect 3 kitchen, 2 garage, master and second bath receptacles, (9) new receptacle for garage door opener, and (10) switch and receptacle replacement in master bath. For Item (3) above: improved, repaired, replaced, or added: (1) Siemens 200A power distribution assembly with service ground and ancillary hardware, (2) main breaker disconnect assembly, (3) 3-wire feed to 4-wire feed replacement, and (4) panel circuit schedule update. Item (3) included building permit, inspection, along with Florida Power and Light (FPL) coordination. The technicians assigned to this project did an excellent job in terms of technical quality and workmanship. Their familiarity with the National Electric Code (NEC) was quite important for the execution of the work required.

Great work! Gabriel replaced the ballast in kitchen lighting fixture, also recognized that the fixture was loose so installed a new toggle to keep it in place. Dug a trench out in the backyard to relocate a plug built for an above-ground pool. Installed wires to move outlet from the middle of the yard back to the outer fence line. Great work done in a timely matter. Technician was very kind and professional. Would definitely recommend.

When our power came back on after hurricane Irma, one phase had 140+ volts, and the other had 100± volts. Pingston was able to diagnose the problem over the phone as I described the issues we had with lights, appliances, etc. They told me to save myself the cost of a service call because it was an FPL issue. They also told me how to describe it to FPL. However, the person I spoke with at FPL - for whatever reason - did not see it that way. To make the story shorter, I had to call Pingston back, and they came to the house. While the electrician was here and telling me exactly what to say to FPL over the phone, an FPL truck showed up on our street! Ultimately FPL did indeed fix the issue at the power pole. Pingston's electrician (Gabriel) hung around for a while and answered all kinds of question I had regarding our appliances that were "fried" by this power imbalance, and other general questions as well.

They were really good. They were fine. They came when they said they would come. They could have fixed somethings, fixed the wall plates instead they said to call another company. I would have preferred if he would have made a better recommendation or actually fixed the wall plates. But for the most part he was very good.

My initial meeting was with John, the owner of the company. He was very knowledgeable, professional and very forthcoming with his information. He advised me that the new electrical outlet installed in the slab would be labor intensive and extremely messy to a home that is lived in with furnishings. He informed me of a much cheaper way to accomplish our goal and a savings of approximately $1,000. The 2 smaller jobs were performed this morning by Chuck, a company employee and a licensed electrician. Chuck was thorough, performed the jobs very professionally and even helped me to indicate the colored wires on 5 new smoke /carbon detectors that I was installing as I am color blind. Chuck even called me to ask if he could arrive 2 hours early. My overall experience was even more than I had anticipated and would definitely use Pingston Electric again.

My concerns were the many parts of the Minke Aire fan and my cathedral ceiling, but the installer had no problem with either. I was very pleased with the service.

This was a great experience from the very beginning. I was looking for someone to come out quickly as I was leaving town for a few weeks and wanted to get this work done before I left. I got the number for Pingston from Angie's List (great reviews) and called them. The person that answered the phone told me that their schedule was full until next week, and I thanked her for checking. Just as I was about to hang up, she said wait. She asked for my name and number and said that if an electrician got freed up, she would have them call me and try to get out to my house. I thanked her but did not expect to hear back from them--which was fine because I knew I was asking a lot to get someone out on such short notice. Needless to say, I was quite surprised when Gabriel called me around 4:45 and said he would be at my house within a half-hour. I explained to Gabriel what I needed--something that I thought would only take about 15 minutes. After looking at my issue, he explained the better course of action and said it would take about an hour. By this time, it was well past 5:00 and I felt bad that he had come out for a "quick" job that would now take him an hour. I would have expected him to say I would need to schedule the work for another day. But no, he pleasantly said he would take care of it. Gabriel explained everything he was doing as he did it, telling me (a woman) that he thought it was important for homeowners to know about their electrical system. What?? I feel that Gabriel went the extra mile for me. He came out late in the day and stayed for an hour to make sure the issue was resolved correctly and the little extras were completed (like removing all the debris and filling all the holes, etc). I was very happy with everything about this service call. I highly recommend Pingston if you need any electrical work done. If all of their electricians are as good as Gabriel, you won't be sorry.

The work exceded the estimated time and the cost of the estimate by several hundred dollars.

Bot h jobs were completed on 2 separate trips and both times they were very punctual and very professional. Nice to be surprised when people show up who know what they are doing.
