I saw only a couple of reviews that had some negativity. I've been in the contracting business for 45 years and I can assure you Jim Behan has more integrity and knowledge of his business than one could hope for. He manages a great crew, respectful of the homeowner, his property, etc. I would recommend him to anyone I know, friends and family alike. If your looking for a source make sure you talk to Jim if you want a really dependable contractor. No short cuts, he makes sure you get a really quality job.

The flat roof in the leak area was removed and repaired also the adjacent tile was removed and the underlay was sealed and tiles were replaced and painted..This was a tricky repair because of the location that required two visits, However Jim was patient and did a great job..

Jim scheduled the initial quotation meeting promptly and arrived on time. He correctly pointed out a difficult flashing situation that other contractors glossed over and provided a detailed record of previous jobs for me to review. The quote was mid-pack but his commencement time was the soonest. His knowledge and experience made me comfortable with accepting the offer. Work began on time and went on schedule for the most part. The crew showed up every day on time. There was a one day delay in the shingle delivery, but in fact only a half day was lost because the crew worked on a Saturday to make it up! The house was always left water-tight and several hard rains including a severe thunderstorm during the process proved it. The major debris was removed daily, although the crew was chased off the roof twice by thunderstorms and were unable to clean up completely on those days. A nail sweep of the lawn was preformed regularly and followups by myself with a borrowed magnet have found only a few missed nails. I am completely satisfied with the end product and would recommend this company without hesitation.

Showed up on time and got the job done when promised. Very professional and courteous. Cleaned up after each day. would definitely use this company again, if necessary.

Rarely does a homeowner experience the pleasure of finding an organization that effects repairs in such a professional manner and at a realistic price. Jim Behan, the owner, provided the original ballpark estimate based on labor, materials and expenses incurred instead of a fixed price. As a pleasant surprise, final cost was less than the estimate. Then Chris and Rob performed the work under Jim's initial guidance. A lot of tear out and replace that was handled expertly by both technicians. Jim returned and inspected the job, did some touch up of the drip line to shingle caulking as a preventative measure, and then thanked me for the business. A nice touch in this day and age. I would highly recommend J. K. Behan for any roofing needs from repair to full replacement.

They missed the first estimate appointment with no contact or reason why. It was a rainy day but a call would have been appreciated. Estimate was to replace 5 missing/broken tiles using foam to seal to the roof and patch the end of tiles with cement. I was shocked at $850 for this effort! Reading other reviews I knew they would be a higher but I can't get the material and labor to come close to $850. Even if the tiles cost $25 each (can't imagine) and a small amount of cement was high at $25 that leaves $700 to cover an hour of labor and profit and is less than fair. While the estimate process was very professional once they arrived I can't imagine paying someone $850 to replace $50 worth of material and will continue to shop for a fair price for the same quality work.

An inspection to determine remaining roof-life was necessary to obtain home insurance. Scheduling and completion of the task were most responsive to our time-sensitive needs. The results of the inspection were documented and even delivered in person to us, which was most helpful. We were surprised and pleased, and would certainly call upon this company again should the need arise.

They did an excellent job. They kept me informed with what was going on. They took photos of the before and after the project.

He came, looked at the job,but price was too high.

they were very professional . Each day when I came home, the yard was left neat and clean. Mr Behan explained everything to me and even did a little extra by sanding down the walk way in front so I could open my screen door more easily. I was extremely satified with their work and would recommend them.

I called on Tuesday and received the estimate on Friday; the work crew arrived at 8:30 AM on Monday, completing the job by 12:30 PM. The crew worked efficiently and did a good clean-up after the work. While it hasn't rained since the repair was made (the ultimate test), my inspection of the work from both outside and inside indicate that the repair was professionally done. I will amend this report if subsequent rain proves me wrong. (Should that happen, the company provides a one-year repair guarantee.)

It went very well, and they did a great job. There isn't anything to dislike about them.

Their pricing was high but they did a very good job. The roof is still holding up and they were very polite and professional. We will use them in the future.

One day while putting laundry a closet, I heard a leak. I could not believe it. I called up JK Behan. He diagnosed the problem as being related to a vent from our oven. He gave an estimate of $200. The next day, he replaced the roof vent and recaulked and also recaulked other vents on the roof. He manner was courteous, his estimate spot on. He came when he said he would. He even gave us a way to clean the stained ceiling.

We were extremely satisfied with them. I did not like the price. They were far from the low better but they were the most professional company we talked to. They also were very responsive to us. They did extremely good, high quality work. We would use their services again in the future.

If you need a good quality roof at a great price go with JK Behan. Not only were their prices competitive their service and professionalism was OUTSTANDING as well as their quality of work. I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone! Mr. Behan met with us before and after the work on our new roof was completed to answer any questions and to ensure that we were satisfied. This is unlike many contractors who simply leave a bill attached to the front door. They took great care to keep the area around my home tidy during their work and cleaned up nicely when they were finished. I had just put in new landscaping prior to the new roof and they took care not to damage it. I have to say this was one of my best contracting experiences to date.

Gave prompt quote. Completed work on time. Should have done a better job up-front explaining that the final look would be somewhat different than how it looked before. Advise you meet with him and ask about how it will look when finished.

We have a 55 year old house that had an existing shingle on shingle roof. During heavy rains it leaked in numerous places. We decided to replace the roof with asphalt shingles. Behan Roofing was recommended by a friend and was the 3rd roofer we interviewed. Even though he was not the lowest bid, we decided to give him our business due to his forthrightness in explaining what was best for our house, he provided a book full of references and his longevity in the roofing business in this area. At the intial meeting he gave us 2 quotes. One for asphalt shingles and another for torch down. The shingle quote included 3 options for underlayer at different pricing. We also asked for a quote on soffit replacement which he emailed to us later that night. He was the only roofer to recommend an additional layer of plywood over our tongue and groove decking. This improves the integrity of the roof as well as smoothes out the bumps and bulges from the addition joints. His crew showed up and spread tarps all around the house for demolition. These tarps kept the debri to a minimum in our yard, driveways and side walk. The performed the job in the time estimated, were curteous and happy to explain the process as well as identify the structural problems with the roof. My wife and I both went up daily to inspect the damage as well as the repair work. The repair work was done to Miami/Dade code. It took about 4 work days to strip, repair, re-soffit and shingle the roof. After all work was complete, we only found 3 or 4 nails around the property. Last time we had a roof redone we found nails for months. The final price exceeded the estimate by about $800 due to repair of the roof and soffits. There was a significant amount of rotten wood and this seemed a fair price. The workmanship is excellent and our roof looks very nice. He gave us folder with our warranty information, release of lien, pictures of the work as well as a CD with pictures at every stage of the work. We are completely satisfied with Behan roofing. So much so that we gave him more business to put fish scale siding on the front gable.
