You can tell from our A rating with Angie's List, A+ rating with The BBB and our 100% customer satisfaction rating with Trane that we rarely have an issue with customer satisfaction. Answering customers calls is always a priority and if we do not do this properly we would not have any reason to be in business. We obviously had an issue on this one. We recently switched phone companies for our business because of this issue. We have 4 lines coming into our office and 2 to 3 people who answer the phones during business hours. We have an answering service for after hours with a live person handling those calls and passing the information on to our on call employee. Any call that comes in during business hours when all lines are busy rolls over to a voice mail which when you called was not working properly. Any messages left on our 4th line or voice mail were not being received for about a week until several customers informed us that they had left messages and had not gotten a return call. We called our own phone numbers to see what was going on. We were unable to get our messages left. Our phone company could not remedy the problem in a timely manner so we found another phone service provider. Again I apologize for this and I am glad you took the time to express your concerns. While I appreciated the technician pointing out that the unit needed cleaning & showed what needed to be cleaned, I felt as if the tech wanted me to clean it or expected me to step up and clean it. The service included cleaning. A better approach would have been for the tech to point it out and then step up and clean it. The service event was a bit awkward to me. Also, while I can appreciate the company using this as an opportunity to bring in new business, the quote that was provided to "bring my unit up to full operation" seemed to be over the top with excessive work...seemed greedy to me. I was even willing to have some of the work done, but based on quote I didn't think that company had my best interests in mind as a customer.

We have discussed how to keep this type of misunderstanding from happening in the future. I always suggest that the service technicians try to point out maintenance items that the homeowner can do to keep their system operating and in top condition. From cleaning the drain line to washing the outdoor coil (with the breakers off). We also make suggestions of products that can extend the systems life and make it more efficient as it gets older. It's kind the same approach as a restaurant. They give you a menu, make some suggestions and let you decide what you would like or need. Our service technicians are not on commission so they have no incentive to sell you things you do not need. They are simply making suggestions of things that would benefit you. So I think of this service call & company a C - & an F if i really didnt need that much freon....
Description of Work: Not sure How happy I am about the service, was told something on price & even after it was explained, somehow it went just above the added Freon to charge a little more, which is OK if it definitely needed it or if the lower pressure was due to when the worker was connecting the gauge it leaked the 1st time for quite a bit, which on my air compressor i know for that many seconds it takes quite a lot of pressure out of the system, i questioned the worker and he said it wouldn't make a difference. Then was also told that Freon has gone up in price.. i paid online through angie's list to get the discount and they didn't apply it at first & then said that i would get credited for next service.. Somehow i don't think about $300 was fair to charge my elderly parents~i almost feel like if i wasn't there they might have got charged more... The worker that came was very Nice & professional, I might be totally wrong here yet just feel that there are too many variables that could lean toward the business easily convincing people that dont know about air conditioning systems and how they work that their system has a problem or needs this or that and it might not actually need something. Just the other last 2 company's i used tried to pull some other stuff with an old tenant of mine & then also tried to charge a full separate other service charge for walking 20feet on other side of home asking a question & worker took it on himself to unscrew 2 screws, when i said i did not in no way want to get charged for anything(Total time spent 20feet from original $95 service charge a/c system was no more then 2 minutes) and he called the office explained what he did and they told him to charge me another $95, took me several months to dispute that & they told me i had to pay(Otherwise they could put a lien on my house).... So needless to say I dont have the best experience with these brevard air conditioner company's. So I think of this service call & company a C - & an F if i really didnt need that much freon....

I waited a few weeks to respond to this review as we tried to contact this homeowner and recieved no response. We were called out to the customers home because the system was not cooling properly. We found the system approximately 2 lbs low on refrigerant. We did a standard leak check with an electronic leak detector and a visual inspection of their system. Due to the minimal rate of leak in the system, We could not locate the leak with this method. The home owner was presented with a price to complete a leak check/isolation which would have to be done on another day pending his approval. We then added a little more than 2 lbs of r-22 refrigerant and reccomended that the customer have an isolation leak check completed on the system to determine which component in the system is leaking. The customer called our office and expressed displeasure with the amount of the bill. I reviewed the customers invoice and found the charges to be fair and competitive prices for the work completed. I checked these prices by calling a few competitors to see how much the approximate bill should be for these same services. Of the three companies that would give me this information we found our invoice was lower than two of the companies and $20 higher than one. I authorized the office to give a credit for the leak check isolation the customer said he was going to have done. While I value everyones opinion of our company. It seems that in this case we are paying the price for this customer being treated unfairly by another company. The customer shows in his statements that he thinks that there in not a way to tell if he actally needed the services provided. I can assure him that all of the work was needed and was fairly priced. I do not like to pay for repair services any more than this customer does and frankly I dont blame him for not trusting service companies as there are many who are dishonest and make it tougher for customers to think that there are actually honest companies. We have been in business for 28 years with an impeccable reputation. We are in business. The goal of our business is to exceed our customers expectations by providing the honest, high quality services at a competitive price. We also need to sustain our business by charging a certain price to allow us to be here for another 28 years. I would ask the customer this question. "when you got to work in the morning what is your goal?". Most would answer "to do a good job and hopefully make money while doing so". I would hope that customers would allow us to do the same. I am sorry his distrust in service companies made him feel it was neccesary to write his review. I would hope he would call me to discuss this soon. Thank you

I'm not sure what the price was because my husband paid the bill. We were very happy with them. Their service was really good. The gentleman and the two men who installed were very good. They were very knowledgeable and very nice. They did exactly what they said they were going to do. We were very happy with it. Our electric bill actually went down tremendously and that was the best part of it. We keep our house cooler yet our bills still went down. They were just very professional. They did a great job and they knew what they were doing. They were very organized. It was a good experience. I'm pretty sure that we found them on Angie's List. We checked around and it was a good price.

I originally purchased an Amana system with DeckAire in October of 2009. For a few months, the system ran without any problem. But, in December of 2009, the condenser unit locked up, leaving the system completely non-functional . It was cold outside during this time and I had young kids at home. In the middle of the night, DeckAire had an on call technician come out to my home to inspect my unit and provide instruction on running emergency heat. By the next day, they had scheduled an entire replacement unit to be sent to my home due to a bad condenser motor. DeckAire replaced the entire outdoor unit under warranty at no additional charge. For a few months following, I did not experience any problems with my Amana unit. But, as the warm weather started to approach, I felt as though the unit was not keeping the house adequately cooled. Multiple times, I had called DeckAire with my concerns, and every time that I called, a technician was sent out to my home to investigate at no additional charge. As we got into the dead of summer during 2010, my home was peaking at nearly 80 degrees. My Amana Air Conditioner ran non-stop and my power bills continually crept higher and higher. I can honestly say that I was not happy with my purchase. But still, each time I called DeckAire with concerns, they dealt with me professionally and respectfully, each time accommodating my requests by sending out a technician to inspect the unit and check for any possible misconfiguration. As concerns remained through most of the summer, Dave Decker, the owner of the company, came to my home personally to do an inspection of the unit and installation. Dave visited a second time later because of my continued dissatisfaction. Again, standing by their product and business, Deck Aire made some recommendations and improvements at no charge -- all of which was above and beyond what they were really required to do. Unfortunately, at the end of that December 2010, it was deja vu all over again. My unit locked up again. The morning I went out, it was very cold outside and there was literally steam/smoke billowing out the top of the unit. Again, DeckAire had to come out to investigate the unit. It was behaving extremely erratic. During one visit with the technician, the unit was completely non-functional and showing similar symptoms. The following day with the technician, it seemed to be working ok. During a 3rd visit, the unit displayed the same erratic behavior. DeckAire, now over a year since the original installation, began coordinating a warranty replacement. The Amana area manager again visited with Mr. Dave Decker. After some coordination, the Amana rep found that apparently these units had a faulty circuit board which caused the main reversing valve to malfunction. Because of this finding, DeckAire was told by Amana that they would not warranty the whole unit, but instead only pay for the replacement part and labor. This was the second broken unit in just over a year. As a consumer, I did not want a "band aided" system. I wanted a full replacement. I wanted a working unit that was considered "new." One that worked correctly for a period of time. I did not find it fair that I was being forced to accept a repaired system when I had paid full price for a brand new, functional system. Thankfully, DeckAire sided with me. I was looking for two options. Either they replace the current broken one with a completely different Amana model number or apply my existing money towards a Trane unit, the other brand that DeckAire sells. The distributor would not agree to replacing the unit. Only to replace the faulty card and pay for labor. I was so put off by how the company was represented that I actually wrote a very extensive email to both the president and vice president of Goodman/Amana in great detail concerning my issues, experience, and what I though of the poor company representation displayed by the Amana rep. Within a day I had received a return call from their customer relations vice president and spoke with her extensively concerning what had happened. Although she was very sympathetic to my concerns, the end result is that they couldn't do anything further. They were not willing to give me another unit, replace with a different model or refund my money so that I could apply it to a different purchase. Again, DeckAire stood by their company and their promise. They said they would either personally replace the system or they would replace my system for me with something I wanted. I ended up having the Amana system replaced with a Trane unit and I could not be happier. This Trane unit has exceeded my expectations on all levels. My house is significantly cooler and more comfortable than my Amana ever was. Now, even at this time of writing of a year later, I haven't had a single problem. This unit runs great! DeckAire most certainly backed up the quality of their work and continually strived to ensured that their customer was 100% happy. If there were more companies that held to "customer care" and that stood by their company and product like DeckAire, consumers wouldn't have anything to worry about. I simply could not ask for a better company to deal with. I would highly recommend DeckAire to anyone. Despite all of the unfortunate circumstances, I have continued to refer friends and colleagues to DeckAire for the effort they put into their customer base, their level of professionalism, and the overall quality of both personnel and the company as a whole.

Overall, we were exceptionally happy with the pricing, work, and professionalism of Deck-Aire. We would absolutely recommend them to anyone needing A/C services.
Description of Work: We called three different companies but ended up going with Deck-Aire because they offered the best price and were willing to work with us on ensuring we got all rebates and 3 year interest free financing. They did professional work and went above and beyond. Example: they put in a temporary window-shaker A/C unit to keep us cool since our A/C wasn't functioning. They did this even though we explicitly explained that we had not made up our mind to go with them yet (although, ultimately we did). Another example: our clothes dryer vent was right in front of our old A/C unit. In fact, that contributed to it's early retirement - the coils were covered in lint! So, Deck-Aire extended the vent down the wall so that it woudn't be exhausting on our new Trane unit! They also re-ran the lines that go between the outside unit and the air handler inside. The lines had originally been put in under ground, but several people in our subdivision had had problems with their lines. So, Deck-Aire decided to re-run them through our attic. The lines were properly insulated and they did a great job!

I had issues with them and they weren't good enough for me to continue using. It took 3 times over a 5-6 week time period for the same problem and they never really fixed the problem. They patched it and each time it was something more and I had to pay each time they came out for the same problem. It wasn't a good experience. It seemed like a scam. I thought they were just charging me each time for a good conversation and they didn't fix the problem. They did patch the problem so something was done but it wasn't to my satisfaction for what I was paying. I absolutely will not use them again.

I will refrain from using the customer’s name in this response out of respect for his privacy. I appreciate any customer feedback and consider the voice of the customer the most important feedback in keeping our company a top rated customer satisfaction driven company. This homeowner has a 12-13 year old builder’s model air conditioning system. When we were called out to fix the initial issue our service technician Chris told the homeowner that the system was past its life span (8 to 10 years) but he could try to get it working. The thermostat was bad which was causing the system to run in heat and cool at the same time and the heat strip was not operating properly. Chris offered to install a new thermostat to get the system operating properly and he offered order a new heat strip and have the system operating. Chris told the homeowner with all of those things wrong and the age of the system he should get an estimate for replacing the system. He also said it would be in his best interest to get a maintenance agreement because it would insure that the system was regularly checked and serviced and most importantly would get him a discount on any repairs that were required and that a system that old in its current condition would more than likely require more repairs. The customer told Chris he would go get a thermostat and install it himself and he would deal with the heater at a later time. A week later the customer called Deck-Aire back out because the system was not cooling or heating properly. The technician found that the homeowner provided and installed thermostat was not wired properly. The tech re-wired the thermostat and replaced the capacitor due to the compressor not consistantly starting properly. The next time the customer called was in June for a drain leak. We went out and cleaned the drain line and billed the customer for the call. The next day the water was still leaking so we sent a technician back out at no charge to work on it again. The technician was able to get the drain line working properly on that visit there was no charge for that call. We were again called out on July 8, 2011. The system was not cooling again. This time the capacitor that starts the compressor was out. We replaced the capacitor and billed the customer for the service call. Our service tech scheduled an appointment for an estimate for a new system. The customer then cancelled that appointment. At Deck-Aire we regularly tell customers that there are fixes and there are solutions. Making any repair to any system that is in poor condition and / or past its normal life span is a fix because that same problem could occur again or another unrelated problem could occur. The only solution is to replace the system. This gives the customer a system that is properly sized, the highest efficiency, under a long term warranty. I am sorry that this customer feels that we should not charge for the additional calls. These repair calls were all unrelated. We did give the customer a discount on all of these calls. I am always concerned with customer satisfaction. I am willing to apply some of the money paid to date for service toward a new system if the customer so desires. The fact is that everything that is done to this system until it is replaced is a patch or a fix. The only true long term solution would be to replace the system which we told the customer on the first visit to his home. If the customer continues to delay the replacement of this system he will continue to have failures which will require repairs to the system no matter what company is working on it. I would welcome a call from this customer to schedule an appointment for an estimate for a new system.

Although our existing air conditioning and heating unit was still working, we were inspired to consider replacing it after seeing our neighbor's unit and the work your company did. Ours was about ten years old so it was just a matter of time. We scheduled another company to come out for an estimate but cancelled them after meeting with Dave.As you know we are very happy with the work Deckaire has done and as a result highly recommended your company to our neighbor across the street, who went on and had a unit installed by your company. Deckaire will be my a/c company from now on. They are honest and trustworthy. When it is time for me to get a new a/c system, they are the ones I will call.
Description of Work: On September 22, my a/c was not cooling. I called a local a/c company that I had used in the past to come out and take a look at it. The company told me once they came, that I needed a brand new a/c system. They told me due to the age of my system, which was over 8 years, that it was time to get it replaced. I was none to pleased to hear this news. My neighbor told me to call Deckaire and get a second opinion. He had used Deckaire for over ten years and said he trusted them and that they were honest people. Deckaire came out that same afternoon, the service tech that came, told me all I needed was a simple part and some freon. He had the part on his truck and replaced it. My a/c was up and running in no time and is still working today. No new a/c for me!!! I can't say enough how much I appreciate Deckaire. They saved me from spending thousands. Money I do not have.

Our 10 yr old A/C stopped working. A repair man from the company that had installed the original system was called. He diagnosed the problem and said that the repair cost would be $700. He agreed that getting a quote for a new system would be a good idea since the avg life of Florida A/Cs is 10 yrs. We got a quote from the company that had installed the original system. We also got a quote from Deck-Aire at the recommendation of our neighbor. Since the Deck-Aire quote was less than the other quote and for a much better system, we hired Deck-Aire.
Description of Work: Installed a new air conditioning system. This was the top-of-line Trane system with dual compressors, variable speed air handler, and a SEER rating of 18. The installers were very efficient and did an excellent job. We are very pleased with the Deck-Aire work.

They are timely and professional. They installed the whole system for me and it went great. The work they did looks great. They always show up on time. I have used them for 6 years now. I know most of the guys because they routinely come to my house. They don't do bad work or try to sell me things that I don't need. They come and get the job done quickly. This is a really good company.

This firm provided quick and efficient service on old unit. When new system was needed (updating and economic use) esimate was quickly given and when ciontract signed installation was set up and work performed quickly and on time. Service since installation has been done economically and satisfactory. Compnay responds quickly and pleasantly. I will continue to use them in the future
