I called because my garage door opener stopped working, tripping the circuit breaker, and I checked first to find it wasn't the garage door opener. First they discover a wire that was broken, apparently nicked years ago by a drywall installer and over time that nick got worse til it broke. They checked the wiring further and sure enough as it made its way through the attic, wire insulation was melted off in various places. At first I was wondering how what started out to be something simple was turning into rewiring my attic. But they showed me what they were removing and it was scary. Glad it didn't make contact with anything flammable! So this simple 1 hour job turned into 4 hours plus material. Part of me was wary given the unexpected ballooning of the bill. But I saw the wires they pulled out, and the guys were very professional & diligent. Ended up my pole light outside which had been working now wasn't working. Coincidence? He diagnosed it as another wiring problem, showing me where the wires emanated from, how they were buried, and the high likelihood it was a broken wiring, which they could dig up another time and verify. But the pole light was really on it's last legs, so I let him cut off that circuit at the box. He said I could buy a timer switch for the remaining outside lights, which is what I really needed (vs. the sketchy light sensor I screwed the bulb into in the pole light). He made a recommendation of a non-digital switch he had good results with. That was validated by reviews on the net. Days later I go to connect the switch, follow the simple directions, but no luck! Made no sense. Engineer friend with a voltmeter was equally dumbfounded. Even connecting the old switch didn't work! I call back Lighthouse, they send Dave back, apparently thinking maybe he screwed something up, although I didn't imply that. I just needed a professional at this point. Same day Dave returns and in about 10 minutes has the switch installed & working. Problem was I connected 1 of 3 neutral wires from a bundle and I needed to connect all 3 to the new switch. No charge. Also, although I did have sticker shock first time, they honored 15% senior discount on Angies List. So on 1 hand it was a strange journey that had me wonder if I was getting scammed. But I'm a pretty good judge of people and instead I'm grateful they found a hidden problem that could've burned my house down, were very professional & courteous, and I'm grateful.

It was interesting how the lights were installed. The installer took his time, measuring and making sure the holes to be cut were aligned correctly. A smooth operation all the way.

The location was quite challenging to engineer the proper setup for ladders and scaffolding, but Billy's team rose to the occasion. They worked very efficiently and were extremely courteous and professional. When they finished cleaning up, you'd never know they were there. Thank you all!

Everything was excellent. Once night time came we were able to fully appreciate the effect of the landscaping lightening and the flood lights. We are more than 100% happy with the work Billy did and completely recommend them.

Bill Rich is the owner of Lighthouse Electric Service, Inc. He arrived promptly on schedule. That was good. He was extremely courteous and professional. He carefully listened to my explanation of the problem and inquired into the extent of my trouble shooting using what I had found to build on. When he removed the light fixture, where he thought the problem was likely to be, the system immediately powered up. The problem was that the original contractor had too many wires going into the over head box with too many uneven wires. As a result, all the wires were loose and not properly tied together. Bill carefully measured the wires to make sure that they were properly and tightly bundled together to make proper connections and reinstalled the light and all the receptacles that I had pulled out to check for power. Bill did not waste any time. He is extremely efficient but takes the time to make sure that work is done correctly and in accordance with electrical codes. I thought his price was very fair for a house call that involved 2 hours, diagnostic work, and repairs. I will definitely call Lighthouse Electric Services again when I need help with electrical problems. Based on Bill's performance and expertise I would recommend him for any electrical repairs and work.

I did not get advance notice that Lighthouse Electric was going to show up the morning of 11/9th, even though I had called the office the week before and left a message requesting a 24 hour window. Luckily, I didn't have any appointments when John & Jason showed up at 8:30 knocking on my door. They could tell I was surprised and annoyed. Advance notice is common courtesy; even a call the day of would have been appreciated. Not just show up at my door. There was a definite lack of communication between the owner, the office and customer for such a large job. Reviewed the scope of work and showed John the locations of the equipment being replaced; so glad that I did; he did not have the sub-panel on his work order. He assured me that it would get delivered and wouldn't be a problem and that it would be installed on the same day. There is some after work that I will need to take care of; drywall repair to a couple of walls, stucco repair & repaint the outside of my home by the replaced equipment. Seems like a little more care could've been taken removing the old equipment but it is what it is and I will spend the additional $$$ needed to fix it even though I'm not happy about spending an additional amount on top of the $ 2,600 already shelled out. I wasn't made aware at the time of the estimate (by the owner) that damage to drywall and stucco repair might be needed. I was told by the electrician (John) after the fact and now I need to get the repairs done by hiring a handyman. I will update this review with the cost of the repairs to my home after the work has been completed. Price was competitive with (3) other bids received; decided to stay local and go with the positive reviews on Angie's List and it was important to have the work completed same day. Not sure if the work would have been completed any different with less repair work on my part, I have no idea if this was the best case scenario or not. Clean-up was excellent, John & Jason worked hard and diligent from 8:30 in the morning until almost 6:00 pm in the evening. City of Palm Bay inspection went well and everything was coordinated with FPL at shutdown and start-up. John kept me posted as things were progressing; the power was off for about 6 hours. John and Jason worked hard to get the main equipment changed out to ensure the power would get turned back on as soon as possible. Overall, the work was tedious, required tear-outs and crawling around in the attic to run the new connections. Negatives: better communication with the customer and awareness of possible drywall/stucco repair should've been explained ahead of time.

They did excellent work. they came on time, very professional. I got about 4 prices from different electricians, theirs was the lowest and most detailed. Polite and very responsive.

Other than obstacles created by incompetent public servants providing incorrect and conflicting information regarding arcane and nonsensical permitting process at Indian River County government center (not the fault of Lighthouse), the work was done swiftly and professionally. Billy was patient in working with and through delays and hassles created by ill-informed, officious, and oddly rude clerks/administrators who seemed uncertain about overlapping authorities and procedures between Vero Beach City and Indian River County utilities and permitting. In the end, it was all done and done well. I am happy to recommend these folks.

It went really well. I initially called for an estimate after my neighbor's tree branch fell across our power lines. They did have to come back 2-3 times during the length of the job , but that's only due to coordinating a few things with our local power company. They were on time, professional and personable, and cared about the customer. The cost of repairs was very reasonable. I would not hesitate to call Lighthouse Electric again if another problem arose.

Because of the nature of my two story home, the job was atypically difficult. Nevertheless, the crew did a fantastic job. I couldn't be happier.

Ed from Lighthouse Electric was here promptly this morning and fixed my broken ceiling light and checked if it had been damaged by a leaky roof - even going out to buy a new fixture since mine was broken. Super nice fellow, easy to talk to, knows what he's doing and did a good job. The owner, Billy, actually called and talked to me on the phone beforehand about all of the expenses involved with changing out an electrical panel like the insurance company is saying I need to do. I will call them again whenever I need an electrician.

Ed arrived on time and replaced the panel. He also mentioned something else he noticed that needed to be replaced and took care of that as well. He was pleasant and knowledgeable. I'd definitely use Lighthouse Electric again.

Billy's team previously replaced my electrical panel and did a good job at a reasonable price. During that time I asked the technician for an approximate cost to install a junction box and switch in kitchen and fix a faulty switch in bedroom. The technician said it would cost roughly $150 to $200. I contacted Billy to schedule the work and confirm the quote. He was very accommodating with the schedule, however, he said that the work would be performed on a time and materials basis. I agreed and the work was performed on 12/18. Two workers arrived around 1:00. One of the workers was a young apprentice. The other, more experienced, worker seemed very knowledgable. It ended up taking the two workers approx 3.5 hours to perform the work. Mostly because the older worker was coaching the younger worker while he was performing the work. I was perfectly fine with this approach until I was handed the bill. The final cost was $424 to install a junction box and fix a switch. This was more than double the anticipated cost of $150 or $200. I am fine with on the job training, but not on my dime. This was not a 3.5 hour job. On top of that, I was charged $95 for materials. These same materials would cost about $15 at a hardware store. I will not be calling Billy to perform any more work on my home.

Ed was extremely professional, friendly, and funny. He was able to make it out the same day I called. He refused to give up when one thing after another would not solve the problem. He was extremely courteous in helping retrieve the ladder, returning into the attic 4 times to get our electric working. I was so happy to find an electrician that was knowledgeable and also willing to explain everything he was doing. Lighthouse electric now has a lifetime customer! I couldn't be happier, and thank you again!

Billy and his team are a breath of fresh air in a world where service often appears to be a thing of the past. They are very diligent in making sure you are happy and informed! We had thought that it would take a couple of days to do this work because there were so many fixtures that needed replacement. Instead, his team did all of the work in one day, cleaned up, and even proactively reduced the charge upon realizing that we mistakenly had specified replacement of three fixtures in the garage instead of two. Both Mr. Rich and his team were helpful and attuned to our needs. For example, the workers double-checked each item with us (and discussed in detail where necessary) to ensure that they would do exactly what we wanted. One thing that impressed us was Mr. Rich's handling of an issue that had arisen after his team had left. Several days later we'd realized that the electrician's assistant had placed lunch garbage into our recycling bin. Since this could have contaminated the recycling load, we were concerned that the assistant was not sufficiently aware of the importance of recycling. When we informed Mr. Rich about this, he discussed the issue with *all* of his workers, not only the individual in question, to ensure that our concerns about recycling were "taken seriously with . . . all of the guys". We are very pleased with Lighthouse Electric and the work that they did for us, and we would certainly call on them again if needed.

Billy had come by first to research our needs given our circuit panel arrangement. He called us as soon as the ordered parts came in. He installed them at our first convenience. And he took the time to just be a nice guy. We have already recommended him to friends.
