Our point of contact, Angelo, was very prompt, walked the property with me to determine exactly what I wanted, and had a crew out there the following week to take care of everything. The team was prompt, courteous, and got the job done in just a few hours. The stump grinding was running behind, but was done approximately a week later. We had such a good overall experience that we chose to contact their sister company Sod Express to totally landscape our large corner lot that looked like a beach. Nothing but good things to say about both and I've already started recommending them to other investors I work with.

We had such a good experience with our tree removal from their sister company A Sun State Tree Service, that we chose to call Angelo again for our landscaping needs. We discussed my needs and came up with a plan, while fully discussing the pros and cons of every part of it. Within a few weeks, I had a beautiful green, lush lawn, complete with new plants, mulch, and a large, beautiful tree. Neighbors and other contractors are constantly complimenting us on how good the lawn looks. Can't get better than that! I also love that Angelo took time out of his busy schedule to stop by the following week to see how everything was going and to make sure we were sufficiently watering everything so it could take root properly. I love the personalized attention we received throughout the process and would happily recommend them to anyone needing any sort of landscape help!

The salesman was here the same day we called to give estimate. Workers were here very promptly on the day scheduled. Workers were very polite and funny and exceptionally good at their jobs. Contact salesman sometime was unresponsive and even rude at time. We were happy with the work done. A fence post was broken in the process because another fence panel should have been taken out in order to do the job. Amazingly enough the screen pool enclosure was not damaged at all. Everyone was very professional and respectful except the estimator. I think he has some health issues, but still is a bit too sarcastic for my taste. CAlled Sunstate and they are going to come out tomorrow(July 30) and repair the damages. yeah!

The following week the leaves all fell off and I have been contacting them ever since. They have not responded to my emails, and calls. I got a hold of the owner after months, Randy and he never called or showed up to the appointment I made. I have never been treated so horribly or ignored before by a company. They do not care about customer service or their reputation.

I've been a loyal customer of "A Sun State Tree, Inc." for many years. I have never been disappointed with the tree service they provide. The team that came to my home on June 11, 2015 was outstanding. The team members are: Eugene, Snoopy, Bobby, TJ, Lucas, and Andrew. This team arrived on time as promised and did a remarkable job. All the tress are beautifully trimmed. They even cleaned up the yard debris. These guys functioned as a "well oiled machine"!! I would recommend this company to anyone searching for professional tree trimming at a fair price. J. Dean

The salesman (Jeff) was quite knowledgeable and provided a reasonable written estimate and design. After waiting for HOA approval, work was started on removing existing lawn, working on the irrigation, leveling the site and preparing for paver installation. The paver installers worked hard and did a beautiful job. However, instead of having the pavers delivered to my driveway in the front (per our written agreement), they removed a partition of the rear property fence( belonging to HOA) ran over the sidewalks and cracked them, broke the sprinklers of HOA and also moved some of the landscape plants. After many calls and complaints, they sent someone to fix the concrete, which was horrible. I took pictures, emailed and called. Finally they sent someone to repair the concrete correctly on 4/7/2015. This was after my wonderful son-in-law came over and repaired the HOA sprinkler they broke and helped me clean the area, fill holes, etc. They were to return in several days to remove the staked barrier and clean up and finish cutting the lines(partitions) in the slab. ( 3 sections were replaced as 1) As of 5/13/2015, they have never returned to finish the concrete. It still needs to be scored, excess concrete needs to be removed as well as one of their stakes that I can't remove. I emailed again and received a call from the owner, Randy, on April 24th. According to him the concrete had not cured yet. I informed him I would be posting my opinions on Angie's List. He told me he would have it taken care of. I live in a new small subdivision and there were many people waiting to see how my project turned out before hiring them. Unfortunately, I do not feel that I can recommend them because of their unresponsiveness to correct problems they created. Had they followed the written agreement, none of this would have happened and both of us would have been happy. As of now, it is my responsibility to the HOA to see that the sidewalks and area are returned to their original condition.

The price was good and they did it within a good timeframe. They took down the tree and hauled all the limbs away. However, they left the wood chips on the lawn. Also, they drove their trucks onto the grass area but they refused to fix the lawn. It looks pretty bad and the POA where I live has sent me a notice that I need to so something about my lawn.

Came out on a Saturday to quote, took about 10 minutes. Was able to schedule service for Monday to trim 3 very large oak trees and 3 large Palm trees. They showed up on time and they took less time than they thought. They clean up after themselves. Unfortunately one of our oaks is rotting from from the inside out, they let us know what could have caused this and gave us a time frame of when we need to plan to just complete removal of the tree as the removal of the tree will cost $1500-$2000. They have cut this tree back in a way that it will not affect my house and give me time to save up for its removal. Their price was a little more than I was expecting to pay, however they did an amazing job and did even more than i(having no clue about trees) realized needed to be done. I am very happy with their work and will call them back to remove the tree.

A Sun State Trees hadn't been down our way before (we're quite a ways from their home in Longwood) so they took a little longer to arrive than expected, but we got a call to say they'd be late and why. Since we work from home we weren't bothered, but good communication is always appreciated. When Jeff and Joe arrived my husband went out to let them in the backyard and they got straight to work unloading and stacking our log rack (8' x 4') with firewood. We were amazed at how much firewood they brought; their office said $120 would get us about half a cord, but we got more than that because a good 20 pieces had to go on the ground. They charged an additional $20 for stacking and $10 for travel (as I said, we're a trip for them), $150 total, which they took by card over the phone the day before when we rang to set up the delivery. That's much better than the price we paid for local firewood last year, even with my husband having to go get it, load it, and both of us stacking it when he came home. Since A Sun State Trees are primarily a landscaping/tree trimming outfit, I asked about our trees when they were done. Jeff explained that it wouldn't be worth it for them to send a tree crew all the way down to us, but he was happy to take a look and offered great advice on how to trim them. Both he and Joe were very courteous and professional. I felt so good about our experience with this business that I wanted to write a review here. I can't comment on their landscaping and tree trimming services, but gauging by our firewood experience I'd say you'll receive quality work from them at a fair cost. And if you're in Central Florida and need firewood, they have that too!

I had used this provider a year ago almost to the day and some parts of that experience were not so good (see my review from September 2013) We decided to go with them again. I called the office on Monday, and received a callback from the sales consultant within 15 minutes and had an appointment for him to come evaluate the job and cost it out for me that same day. Kevin was on time, polite, remembered us from last year and we agreed on a price. They were set to come on Thursday of the same week. As instructed, I called the office the morning they were due to come, and was told they were en route. They pulled up less than 10 minutes later, and began work. They moved some hanging baskets so they would not be damaged, which was appreciated. Start to finish ( cutting, clearing, sweeping up, etc) was all accomplished within 30 minutes. The supervisor walked around with me, asking if I was satisfied, or if they needed to cut anything else for me. I was very happy, wrote the check and off they went. I will call this company next year when my trees are starting to look unkempt, and recommend this company to others. One caveat to those who have an issue with the climbers using spikes on their boots: if that is a problem for you, discuss that ahead of time, because that is how they scale the trees. I have had no problems at all as a result of this practice, but I did read a review where a person was not happy that they did that. My trees have not suffered at all. Thank you, guys! On June 11, a terrific, windy storm came through Maitland. Two huge trees from my neighbor's yard came crashing down into my yard, taking the 30 foot electrical power pole with them. We lost all power, internet and phone service because it was all on that pole. I located a person with the power company in the neighborhood assessing another problem and asked him to come see what happened in my yard. He told me that in order for the power company to get in and replace the pole, all the tree branches and limbs would need to be removed. I needed a tree service quickly in order to get power back on anytime soon. I called Rick Nellis of A Sunstate Tree Service, as their company had done work for us before. Rick answered the phone and promised to come right over. He arrived within 30 minutes and behind him came a crew and equipment. His team cut up and took away all the tree branches and tree trunk that had fallen within a couple of hours. The men were very efficient and got the job done quickly. I so appreciated the speedy, courteous service and would call upon Rick Nellis (his cell- 407-949-1483) again in the future.

I purchased 5 pallets of "Classic St. Augustine"sod on 4/9 for a 4/11 delivery. On 4/11 I called and was told there was a problem at the sod farm and would it be okay to deliver on 4/12. I said okay no problem,sod arrived and looked good. Fast forward 3 weeks and the grass is coming in but it appears to be about 10% crabgrass,about what you would expect from low budget sod. If you want a nice lawn avoid these guys as they claim no responsibility for the sod they sell,quite a nice way to sell a "low budget" product with no repercussions

They had a crew of about 17 men that worked quickly and efficiently.

The work went without problems. They have great tree climbers, the helpers are courteous. I have also had them remove two very large pines in the past few years- one of which was 3 feet from the house and required lifting over a large wide oak tree to the street. They have always done a great job, know what they're doing, and are fast.

Tom Stone and his crew were exceptional. They arrived when scheduled, went over and above to ensure everything was completed as agreed upon and cleaned up and hauled all debris.

I called this service provider to have 2 trees removed from my yard. They told me I should keep one of the trees, which I did only to have to contact them again in October to take down the "dead as a door nail" tree. On the second tree, took a long time for them to come back out a 3rd time to remove the stump.

Did a good job, prompt polite punctual. Seemed very knowledgeable - they have an Arborist (tree specialist).

They were professional in every aspect of the work. They clean up after they have completed the work and i was very happy with the results.

The overall service was above average. I was a little disappointed in the debris left behind in the street in front of my house after the crew trimmed a 30ft+ palm. They also hired a subcontractor to grind a stump who made no effort to clean up the debris from their work. The work product leading up to and performance (workmanship) of the job I would rate an "A" however, the post job work effort was a "D-". I was not at home to provide oversight to the clean up effort which probably contributed to the very poor effort by them.

It has been awhile since they worked for me. I do recall they did a good job. Arrived on schedule and completed the job.

He seemed to be pretty good. He was pleasant and nice. He asked if they could dump the chips from the work in the yard, I said alright, but they weren't even going to be able to take the chips. I want nothing to do with them now, after they raised the price because I couldn't do the work on Saturday. It shows on their paper that they are licensed and insured, but I am not sure if they really are.

I have to admit that cancelled this provider after several unsatisfactory conversations with the person who answered the phone. When I called to let them know we had chosen them for the job, Kevin, one of the owners told me he would put me on the schedule for the following day, which would have been Wednesday and told me to call in the morning for a time when the team would arrive. I called the next morning, and whoever the woman was who answered the phone told me that I was not on the schedule and could not be done until Thursday. Okaaaaaay, strike one. Called the next morning and was told "you will be done sometime this afternoon" by the same less than pleasant person who answered the phone. I pressed for more specifics, as I had other things to attend to. She rather rudely asked "Do you really need to be there when they are working?" I informed her that yes I did, as these people would be climbing 23 foot palms and cutting very large and dangerous seed pods. After some time on hold, I was told it would be around 3 oclock when they would arrive. Strike 2 for lack of basic courtesy on the phone. Finally, at 6PM ,no one had shown up or called, so I called the office and spoke with a different very nice lady, but it was Strike 3 for me. I said to tell the owner that since they could not get the times straight, to cancel the service and I would find someone else. The next morning, Kevin, one of the owners called and apologized profusely for all that had happened. I informed him of my disappointment with the lack of courtesy of the person handling the phones and that if he did not want my business, I would find someone else. He begged for another chance and promised me that his team would be at my house Saturday morning. I was not holding my breath.Imagine my surprise when a crew of 10 really nice guys showed up to my house, introduced themselves and asked specifically how I wanted the palms cut. After a short discussion, they moved planters and potted plants and went to work. They had those 8 palm trees cut high and tight in no time, and cleaned up all debris, grinding up the fronds in their truck. They did an awesome job and my husband and I were very pleased. I had the opportunity to discuss the issues with their office staff and he assured me it had been addressed. Would I use them again? In a heartbeat! The quality of work was wonderful, workers polite and checked with me to be sure I was happy how each tree was cut.They worked very well as a team, had some laughs and really were genuinely decent hardworking people. The only reason they did not get an A from me was the experience with the office person and the issue with scheduling. But from a work performance perspective, A all they way. Thanks, Alisa Fuller

I have been very satisfied with their services. They seem to do good work. They clean up really well after themselves. Their prices are reasonable. They do exactly what I want them to do and what they say they will do, they are also very efficient. I would highly recommend them!

We have been using them for about four years. They are good. They are always prompt, courteous and clean up well. They have also re-sodded my backyard and installed my sprinkler system which I have not had any issues with.
