I contacted the company via phone a few weeks before the closing on my condo. I don't recall the lady's name, but she was very polite and helpful, and said that I could use their $10 off coupon I clipped from the local community paper. My closing was going to be on a Friday, and I called back about a week before that to schedule the locksmith work for the following day (Sat.), since I wanted it done as quickly as possible. I don't recall the exact details, but something came up at the last minute and I was concerned that I might not get there at the designated time to meet the locksmith, so I left a kind of frantic-sounding message on their machine (I think it was after business hours a couple of days before) explaining that I did plan to be there and to wait a few minutes if I was late (as a first time home-owner, I was a bundle of nerves, and running around like crazy trying to accomplish things). I came home later to find a very courteous message (from the lady with whom I'd already spoken with on the phone) waiting on my answering machine. I don't recall the exact wording, but it was something like, "We got your message; please don't worry! The locksmith will be there, and he'll wait for you," - something to that effect. It all worked out fine - I met him there on Sat., and he assessed the situation. I originally planned to get 3 locks rekeyed. It turned out that the lock on the outside storage closet was broken and could not be shut securely. He said that I could leave it that way, if I didn't plan to keep anything valuable - but, there was no point in re-keying it, since it wasn't a secure lock anyway. However, if I wanted to, he could put in a new door knob lock, and have the key match the rekeying he was doing of the entry door bolt and knob locks. So, that's what I authorized. He also gave me 2 key copies along with the original key. He took care of the paperwork and honored my coupon - he also didn't charge me for the 2 key copies. He advised me that if I memorized the code on the key, and I ever locked myself out, that I could go to any locksmith, and they could make a new key from that code - much less expensive than having a locksmith make a call to fit a new key.
