They were late. They couldn't repair it right away, they had to order a part for the range to fix it. The range still isn't working quite the way it should. The refrigerator's ice maker was leaking, and we did what they told us to do, it initially corrected the problem, but is leaking again.
Description of Work: They were supposed to repair my refrigerator and my range.

Refereed to this company by Fridgedaire for warranty work. Called on Monday and had appointment next day (first thing). Ken W. (technician) arrived and was VERY knowledgable about the problem. He took apart parts of Ice Maker and made a modification to a tension spring and the problem was fixed. It's been a week and still no trouble. Ken W. was very professional and a cut above your usual service technicians. I would definitely use this company again if Ken W, was the service technician.
Description of Work: Ice maker was not funtioning properly (it was crushing ice all the time not cubing it) in Fridgedaire side-by-side still under warranty.

The rep came to the house and determined the pump was bad in my dishwasher. He did not carry replacement parts with him so the part was ordered. Approximately one week later the rep returned and installed the new pump. After about 3 washes later the pump was not draining and the rep returned. He determined there was an obstruction in the line and removed it for me at no additional charge.
Description of Work: Replace a drain pump for a Frigidaire dishwasher.

Initial assessment of the problem was done by a technician who was personable, professional, and clearly several cuts above what most consumers in our situation would expect (I was present only for his visit). And both he and the technician who later performed the work were punctual as well as professional, something most consumers in our situation have grown not to expect. Overall, an excellent experience with both representatives of the firm. Someone gave these folks an F? Well, I suppose there is the possibility that it could have been warranted, but we concluded that it's too bad some service consumers are as bad as the worst service providers.
Description of Work: Replacement of a light switch and a major sealed component of the refrigerator side cooling system on 15 year old Sub-Zero refrigerator.

I have all the information with names. numbers and times, dates etc typed on a timeline that I will send to you if you wish. It is quite detailed and is 16 typewritten pages so far.
Description of Work: I contacted the service because they had previously serviced my builtin refrigerator/freezer. I had a moisture problem on the other side of the wall fromt he refrigerator unit and needed to have the unit pulled so I could determine the cause and remediate. Quality Appliance sent out repair tech who found a faulty water valve but could not pull unit as it takes two people. He did not see any water at the front of the refrigerator. Quality Appliance sent out their"independent contractor" who I believe basically just works for them as he did not have a card except for Quality Appliance business card. He told me that the service would be sending out another tech with him or two techs so that the unit could be pulled and the cause of the moisture found. When I called Quality Appliance over 24 hours after the IC had been out I was told a different story other than I had been told by the independent contractor. I told Shelley that I would pay for the two technicians as I did not want them to do it for free. I was not even saying the problem was their fault, I just had to locate the cause. She told me that she would not send anyone out. I said again that I would pay. She said in no uncertain terms that she would not authorize the technicians to come to my home even if I was paying for the call and she was going to make a notation as well to that effect. I told her that I would then have to call the plumbers and offeredc her the same courtesey that I had offered them and that was if she would give me a couple of dates/times I would try to coordinate the appointment so that we could all see the cause together without a case of he said she said. I did not hear back . The plumbing company came out with their head technician and an assistant. What was found is that the drain pan was not fully pushed back in to place when the sealed system of the refrigerator was replaced in July. It was out about an inch and had been trickling down the floor behind the cabinet wall for 6 months. As water always goes to the lowest point , it headed to the front of the house and there are about 15 plus feet of cabinets that have been impacted as well as the hardwood floor underneath. We will have to pull all the cabinets off the wall now to see if there is any mold growing which a couple of cabinet makers a;ready feel that there is a problem. When I had the report from the plumbers, I submitted it to Quality Appliance Service along with the photographs and the names of the technicians and the company. I asked for their insurance company so that I coould contact them regarding this problem. I was told in an email from Shelley that since there was no water at the front of the refrigerator that I would need to contact my home owner's insurance company for the repair. She suggested that the water came from the attic or the wall. I had SerPro out to check on what I needed to do to get this process started. Ron Alderman said that there was no moisture coming from the ceiling or above. In fact it was behind and that it was sinking in the middle because of the heavy stone top on the buffet cabinet. I had to engage an attorney to get the insurance information as Quality refused to give it to me. That took over a month. Then it took almost another month before tthe adjuster for the insurance company that insures the company was able to come to my home. He was out March 29,2010. It is my understanding that he is of the belief that Quality Appliance Service is liable. They continue to say that they are not. In the meantime I have cabinets that are not usable, mold growing and a mess. I might add that the insurance adjuster had expected a representative of Quality Appliance to be out on site when he was here on Monday the 29th as did our attorney. I might also add that the adjuster did not hear from Quality Appliance Service. This is where we are today. I do not want to go to litigation, but I will. If they had not been so adamant about not sending two techs to pull the unit so we could see what was going on in the back of the unit even when I offered to pay, I might be less angry. The fact that the story from the independent contracator was turned around does not help and then for no one but the adjuster on this past Monday morning only adds to the mess. Whirlpool Corporate legal has also asked me to submit the paperowrk to them once we are able to get some sort of resolution.

It went very well. He was prompt, went straight to the task at hand. Completed the job and tested it.
Description of Work: Washing machine wasn't agitating or spinning. Gary came and in less than 5 minutes knew what the problem was and replaced the coupler. He was quick and thorough was here about 1/2 hr. This is his second visit. He was here in February and replaced the dawgs on the agitator. The machine is 13 years old and now it still has some miles left on it. The part is warrantied for one year.

When a burner in my Frigidaire ceramic cooktop shorted out about six weeks after the warranty expired, affecting two other burners as well as the bad one, Quality Appliance sent a technician with plenty of experience repairing that particular brand and style. He diagnosed the problem immediately, installed a temporary replacement sensor that he happened to have with him, gave me instructions on ordering a new one, and gave me extremely valuable advice on how to persuade the people at Frigidaire's customer-service number to send a replacement at no charge even though the unit was out of warranty. He arrived promptly for both the initial service and two follow-up calls and was very neat and efficient. Unfortunately, he failed to diagnose a second burner that had also gone bad and had to come back out and replace that one as well.
Description of Work: Replaced cooktop burner that had bad sensor.

I called Quality Appliance on Nov. 13, 2007, because my dryer was not producing any heat. I was told that the technician, James, could come out and look at it in two days. He would call between 7:30 AM and 9:30 AM to give me a two hour window on his arrival time. James called at 8:00 AM on Nov. 15 and told me he would be at my house between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM. He verified the problem that I was having and asked for the make and model number. He arrived at 9:30 AM. He spent 20 minutes examining and testing the clothes dryer. He told me it needed a heater, but he had to order one. It would take about a week. On Nov. 21 I was called that the part was in. The next available appointment was Tues., Nov. 27. That morning I again was called and given an hour window of 10:00-11:00 AM for the visit. James, the technician, came right at 11:00 AM. He installed the new part and tested the dryer. It worked fine and I was able to start loading it with my laundry.
Description of Work: My clothes dryer had stopped heating. James, the technician, did a diagnostic on it and said that it needed a heater. He ordered the part and installed it 12 days later.

Description of Work: I purchased a brand new washer. When I tried to wash the first load, it did not spin or agitate. Frigidaire gave me the number of this company since they are a factory rep. A repairman came out the next day and fixed the problem at no cost. I would hire again. Also, they called at 8:00 in the morning to give me a two hour window in which they would arrive. They ended up coming at 9:30 am, so I didn't have to wait around for them all day.

I HAD TO WAIT A WEEK FOR THEM TO GET HERE, WHICH REALLY WAS NOT "CONVENIENT'' OR TIMELY. I HAD DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AND THE TECH SPENT 20-25 MINUTES REPLACING THE VALVE. I WAS PLEASED WITH THE WORK, DISMAYED BY THE PRICE CHARGED.

Description of Work: They said the oven would not heat due to gas valve needing to be replaced. Work was done, but did not heat when tried. On following service call they said the igniter coil was bad. Replaced it, works fine, but no return of initial cost and wanted an additional $115.00. I have disputed thier bill (have not paid) and have not heard back - about 4 weeks now!

Description of Work: They charged $225 to replace timer in dishwasher, it still didn't work right, then they came back and said it could be the motor. I bought a new dishwasher. Not a good company. They overcharged and didn't fix it.
