Took three weeks to get work done which was a little long but they had just moved in to the new place the day I brought the machine in. When they did get to it, determined carb needed replacing due to ethanol damage. When I picked up machine, they demonstrated that it started right away and worked like new. Only issue was kinked hose end which they bent back in shape but it looked to me to now be a weak spot that would soon break. Did not pursue them to replace since the hose was 6 years old. Bought a new hose at Home Depot. Asked for a quote for all new lawn equipment (intended to discontinue lawn service in the Spring) and was promised that they would work up a quote for a mower, trimmer and edger. Never heard back from them. Again, it may be because they were swamped with setting up the new location.

They ended up not able to do service they said they were able to do. They seemed really nice people and very pleasant to deal with but we were disappointed with their service because they were not able to fix what we asked them to fix.

Dropped off the mower. They were helpful and explained that they would take a look at it and call me with the problem They diagnosed a failed coil and called to tell me that if they were lucky the part would come in the next day, which it did. they replaced it and the mower works like new. Very friendly, professional interaction

There are still some small businesses that go above and beyond what is expected and treat customers with respect and charge a fair price for their work. Mac Daddys is one of those businesses. I didn't ask for priority service because it was clear that they had a lot of work in progress. Yet, I got my lawn tractor back after only 3 working days. They fixed the "would not start" problem" and also found some other problems with the tractor's deck that should be addressed. They called first to get my permission to repair these problems by replacing several pulleys. Whenever I buy parts from anyone for anything, I expect the charge to be at least twice what I would expect the part to actually cost. But, this was not the case. I don't know if they made any money on the parts, but it was clearly not their desire to drive up the repair cost by replacing costly parts. In addition to cleaning the carberator, the "no start" problem, they replaced the pulleys, changed the oil, and sharpened the blades. I expected that all of this would drive up the labor charge which is $55/hour. But, it didn't. In fact, I was only charged for 1 hour of labor. I don't know how they make any money. In the past, I have had lawn equipment carberators cleaned and the cost was about $100. Here, their price is about $55. Some places won't even try to clean the carberator, they charge you for a "new" one. So, before you take your lawn equipment anywhere, you should check their "per hour" rate and their basic repair policies. Gasoline engines are a disaster waiting to happen so I'm glad I found someplace to take all of those machines that I have in my garage.
