Description of Work: Went very well they first came out to do a service call but there were problems with the unit as it was old and not worth repairing and the cost of old freon, better to replace with new. Very happy with the service and thanks to the guys that came and installed it on News years eve day.

Description of Work: We took advantage of Cornerston's $39.00 44-Point Heating and AC Checkup. Jason was very thorough with his inspections and the majority of potential problems with our AC/Heat Pump system were justified considered both Trane units, including air handlers are now 20 yrs old. I could readily tell by Jason's comments, after the inspections, he was very disappointed with not being able to "pull a sale" on any of the items items identified as potential problems in his written inspection. Of course, I expected that from any Company performing such a service since that is the premise for such "specials." Nevertheless, Dana and Jason's conduct throughout was not only pleasant, but professional, much as you would suspect from a member of Angies List.

Description of Work: After 6 years with another company that I had become unhappy with their declining quality or work, I found Cornerstone. They came out on March 20, 2012, Jason, the repairman, was friendly, very professional, and found the problems I was having. He explain in detail, which was very helpful to me, seemed very honest and quoted me a price. I hired them and Jason fixed the problems that day to my satisfaction. He returned the very next day to install a surge protector at my request. I was very satisfied, and signed a contact for six month service intervals, the first of which was performed on September 2012, also by Jason. I'd definitely recommend this company.

Description of Work: I bought a Big Deal from them for a 77-point AC maintenance tune up, cleaning, and duct sanitizing.

Description of Work: On April 1, 2012 I responded to an Angie's list "Big Deal" email for an Ultra Violet Filtration Sysem insalled in your HVAC system. I placed an order for the system. Acording to the ad, this system would remove all the pollutans that I would like to have removed from my system. On April 2nd I received a call from Ms. Dana acknowledging receipt of my order and set up an appoinment for the installation for the same day between noon and 1.00 p.m. The inslaller, Dennis, showed up shortly after noon. He begn to dismantle my air handler and as he did so, he told me that the unit that I had ordered (which is pre-paid when you order) was designed for a heat pump AC and not for a gas furnace, which I have and that there would be a problem with the placement of the unit for 100% efficiency. That is when he began to pitch to me for an upgrarde unit that would do what I expected this unit to do, according to their ad. I asked him how much this upgade would cost, he ignored and went to his ruck to get a brochure for the upgraded units, (There were two) then he began to tell me how much better the upgrade units would perform than the one I had bought. I again pressed him for a price, to which he replied about $400.00 more. That's when I told him that his pitch smelled a lot like a "Bait and Switch". He then started to back track, that the unit I had bought was OK, but the upgrade was much better. He made the analogy that the unit he was about to install as a "Chevrolet" and that he upgraded unit would be a "Cadillac". I told him that I did not want the upgrade, and if the unit he was about to install would not do what the ad said it would do, then he was not to install the unit and cancel the order. He said he did not know what the ad stated. I printed out the ad and showed it to him. He read it, and said this unit would be OK. He finished the installation and gave me his business card and left. When he left, I felt I had just wasted $299.00

Description of Work: The tech arrived and as soon as he saw the old heating/air conditioning system he said nothing could be done. Although I told him what other people have done, he just shook his head and said "why would anyone leave such and old system and only put air part rather than the heating unit too is beyond me" I apprectiated that he drove all the way out, but I had to call a local business for an emergency call which cost me $160 because it was after 5pm. He came out and did what needed to be done - it was fixed and has been fine since. This company probably does quite well with newer homes but is not suited for anyone with a house built pre-1970.

Description of Work: I was a routine yearly check. Overall it was complete, but it came with 3 different offers of things they really, really recomend, but I did not need... A maintaince contract, a UV light and a surge supressor for a total of almost $800.00. So, not sure if this was a quality check up or an invite to a sales pitch.

Description of Work: I used Cornerstone initially from an Angie's list deal. Had both units serviced and then paid for the annual membership for both at $100 per unit. I was pleased with the young man who came out. He was thorough and analyzed my units explaining they were both reaching the end of their life and because they were all unmatched were less efficient, but that they were fine for now. The membership allows for a $49. service call with no upcharge for weekends or nights, and discounts on parts and equipment. My unit went down and a different guy came out. He showed me why my unit was iced and went thru a dog and pony show explaining I had a leak and it would be impossible to fix and went thru a whole sales presentation... The numbers were so astonishing I just couldn't put in a 3 ton unit with the lowest seer for $5200 without checking around. It seemed high. He left without even trying to get it working for me and I spent another night on the couch without AC in my bedroom. The next day I had the first of three contractors I called, arrive and analyze the unit. He said the leak was very small because his Freon tester did not even go off until he went all the way back to where it was. He said it would probably last thru the summer and for sure get me thru the evening (I had 10 people coming for dinner!). Its been working fine since. I just felt like the whole reason they offered the maintenance plan was to make me feel stuck with them so they could sell me the a unit for a lot of money. It just felt like a sales job with no interest in getting my unit to work. The second company that came out also went to another home for me. The unit is toast... its no good... HOWEVER, it is a 5 TON GAS heat/ AC unit which is more expensive than a HEAT PUMP and he is quoting $5200 for a 15 seer. AMAZING

Description of Work: We really like how the check/cleaning service was performed : the company called us to schedule appointment,then they called us 30 min upon person's arriving,technician was polite and attentive .While performing cleaning and tuning up he explained us every detail-we know our A/C and it's needs much better now. It was nice and helpful visit of knowledgeable friendly person (sorry,I forgot his name). We didn't need any extra service right now but we will use this company in future ,for sure.
