Vic Quillen returned my call within hours of my initial contact and sent an estimator the next day. The estimator inspected the roof from outside and in the attic to gain an complete understanding of the leak and cost of the repair. The repair involved both flat and mansard roof replacement of rotten wood with roof decking and then the necessary replacement of flat decking, roofing, sealing, metal flashing and mansard roof shingles. Quillin took extra care in matching the current shingles that were 11 years old so that the finished job gives no visual appearance of a repair. I congratulate Quillen on providing me with a good roof repair and experience in completing a job that could have easlily turned into one of those often reported Florida contractior nightmares! I reccomend Quillen for any roof repair!

ic came out and checked out the roof. While he was at my home he explained what he had found and showed me the pictures he had taken. He explained some options for repair and answered all my questions about reasons for each option. After someone else at the company looked at the information he took, they emailed me 2 different options for repair along with the cost of each. They came the very next week after I had emailed my decision on which type of repair I had chosen. They cleaned up so well I couldn't even tell they had fixed it while I was at work! I had them repair my mom's roof too after such a great experience with them. They did a great job there, too! They were great about letting me know which repairs could wait a while, if necessary and what needed to be done as soon as possible.

We had 2 leaks in garage called V.E. Quillen. Very professional from the start. Great communication. Returned calls promptly and came out to give us a bid right away. Gave very detailed account of what they would do and how much it would cost. Decided to hire based on positive feedback on Angie's List. And what we deemed a reasonable bid for the work. They showed up on time, were very polite and professional. They were able to complete the work on same day. We paid upon completion of the work. Very impressed and happy with work done. Would definitely use again.

IThe rain was coming from a direction that it does not usually come from & it was a really hard rain. I was doing a remodel in the kitchen/dining room where the ceiling had been removed & I noticed dripping on my counter from that area. I called this family owned business, they came right away & made suggestions which entailed alot of work. In the long run, another suggestion was made that I could do. I really appreciated the input & I was not charged a dime. I am sorry now that I did not even think to give them something ($) for the great suggestions. If I ever have a problem again, I will call them & make up for it. I think they would be honest , professional & be accountable for their work.

They removed some of the flashing that was no longer good and caulked accordingly. They also replaced some of the fascia and painted where necessary. They were able to identify the problem immediately and solve it. They were quick with follow up and worked quite efficiently. The young man worked continuously for many, many hours. He was also quite knowledgeable and informative about the project. Along the way, another issue was discovered that seemed to be too severe to be completed by him. I really appreciated his honesty. They completed the work to my satisfaction at what I felt was a very reasonable rate. I would never again work with another roofer!

After seeing what appeared to be a leak in my garage roof, I called on a Sunday. Mr Quillen answered and said they would be out on Monday. His son came and inspected the area. He could not tell if it was a new leak but went into the attic and said the wood was dry. They gave me an estimate but suggested I wait until a heavy rain to see if it is still leaking.

Owner's son came to give an estimate. He was on time and inspected the roof as well as the attic over the garage. He was very thorough, and on a hot summer day when temperature in the attic must have been a thousand degrees! Gave me a detailed diagram of what needed to be repaired and said his father (the owner) would call me with a price, which he did. On the day of service they arrived on time. The owner came with the repair crew and explained exactly what would be done. They did an outstanding job and cleaned up when they were finished. The repair crew was curteous, professional and very hard working. I can't say enough good things about this company. They gave old fashioned, honest service, which is almost impossible to find. I would recommend this company to anyone who needed roof repair work.

They were on time, which was one of their most repeated remarks in reviews. They were very nice and knowledgeable. They gave me a quote within a couple days. They seemed pretty solid. I'm not sure if I want to do anything with the project, period, which is why I haven't used them yet.

This is one of the best service providers I have encountered in South Florida. They were prompt in making the estimate and stuck to the price. The work was delayed by bad weather, but as soon as the weather permitted, the crew was at work, putting in a long day on a Friday. They returned on Saturday to complete the job. The leaks are gone, the roof is old but looks good -- and I will get a few more years out of it. These folks are friendly and honest; and they really know their business. They do exactly what they say, and they do it cheerfully and skillfully.

Rotten wood under overhang that the gutter is attached to was replaced and all roofing tiles-gutter-etc was replaced, it looks good. They cleaned up work promptly.

I scheduled an appointment a couple days prior - think it was a Tuesday. They were nice enough to work with my schedule and agreed to come after hours (6:30pm on a Thursday evening). The owner's son (Damon, I think) arrived shortly after 6:30 and was there for awhile - he checked the roof itself and also went up into the attic. He seemed pretty thorough - took about 45 minutes or so. He said that it wasn't the skylight itself that was leaking, which would have been my responsibility to fix. He thought it was the point where the skylight was affixed to the roof, which in turn made it the HOA's responsibility. He definitely gave me the impression that he wanted to help me out and thought that the HOA should pay for it as it was their roofer that did a poor job to begin with. He said his father would contact me the next day (Friday) to advise me of the estimate. I didn't hear anything for a week, and then I finally got a message the following Friday from Mr. Quillen, saying he was really sorry it had taken so long to get back to me but he had a lot of stuff going on, and that I should call him back if I wanted to discuss the estimate. By that point I had called the HOA and gotten their roofer to come out. They ended up fixing it on their dime, so I didn't call Mr. Quillen back. My experience with Damon was good, but I didn't think it was very professional to wait a week to get back to me, so the review is mixed.

I knew all my flashing was in bad shape, & was going to ask them to repair it all, not just the part that happened to leak this time, but they anticipated me, & told me a complete flashing replacement was already included in the bid price because they knew it would have to be done. They made the estimate the day after I called & had the roof repaired before the weekend. The owner stopped by to oversee the job (done by his sons and a hired helper) and while there inspected the tiles & under-paper and let me know that other than the ancient worn-out flashing, my roof was in excellent shape. He also pointed out another point-of-entry for rain that wasn't part of the roof and told me how to fix it myself easily and inexpensively. I have used Quillen before and all in all I get the impression they truly know what they're doing. By their own admission they are not the cheapest--I could have gotten an adequate repair for less, but on my house roof in Florida I want more than adequate. He described to me what they did and what they could've done cheaply to get by, and I remain convinced I got more than what I paid for. I paid out a little more initially BUT I have a roof that will not leak, not just in the spot it did leak, but anywhere--I won't have to call anyone back to fix additional leaks, which in the long run, of course, saved me money.

His son showed up, went up in the attic and also on the roof to investigate the leak. He drew a diagram showing me exactly what was wrong, what they proposed to do and advised me his father would call back in a day or so with an estimate. The following day, Mr Quillen called me and gave me the estimate, ($430-$100 Angie's discount = $330). He told me they would be out in a day or two, and that I didn't need to be home for the repairs. Within 2 days, the leak was repaired, and a few days later, I received the bill in the mail for the estimated amount. It has since rained, and I have not seen any more of the leak, so I'm very happy with the work provided by Quillen roofing. I would not hesitate in using Quillen again or recommending them to someone else!

I moved into a foreclosure and had several repairmen working at my house. VE Quillen was by far the hardest working, most reliable and best bang for my buck out of all repairmen I used. They were punctual and the work they performed was exceptional. I would definitely recommend this company and use them again.

Family owned company that is reliable and trustworthy. They visited our home twice to inspect and gave us a discount for referencing Angie's List. Very reasonable in price -- value outweighs the price. We will certainly call them if we need them for future services. We have recommended them to everyone we know.

i signed contract on 6/11/10 and made arrangemnts to be home for repair using my time frame-brett came out promptly at 9.15 am and worked till 6.30pm- he tore out rutting wood and refitted gutters and overhang-replaced boards along front-primed new wood and cleaned up-frankly i was surprised at his detail work and fact that he worked the whole day to get it right. you cannot tell any work was done it looks perfect and im sure the leak is also repaired
