Well, but did not appreciate the charged amount. He wanted $300! I contacted a local vendor and paid $109 per hour/only cost me $124 total.

Gordon was always responsive to our inquiries and call. He provided a very professionally presented estimate and once we decided to go forward he completed the labor intensive work in the time frame proposed. He was very patient and thorough in explaining the use of the system. We would highly recommend him and would use his services in the future.

Very pleased with what Gordon did. He came out, spent about 1 hour looking over every thing and gave me an estimate. Did not charge for the estimate. Told me what to buy. Came out to do the job. Spent a lot of time making sure it was right. He was here almost 3 hours making sure the antenna was placed correctly outside my house. Very professional and informative.

I contacted GLS initially in February 2015 to see if my ideas for my media room were feasible. Gordon came out and we had a discussion about what could be done and the best way to accomplish the job. He gave me a professional estimate very promptly. It wasn't in my budget at the time but I contacted him 3 months later. Gordon was able to work with me on getting the system to where it needed to be and he installed it last week. He did the work himself. He was prompt, professional, and the workmanship was exceptional. The system works exactly like we had planned it out and I am extremely happy. When spending as much money on a project such as this it is hard to find someone who can deliver what is promised for the price that is promised, along with someone you trust working in your home. Gordon accomplished these things with no issues. I will be using him again in the future and will be strongly recommending him to others.

After meeting with several A/V contractors - some of whom stated the TV could not be mounted on our first floor (masonry exterior) wall - Gordon came out and provided a detailed estimate with recommendations. From the beginning Gordon communicated via email in a very prompt time frame and was very patient with my many questions as well as my budget. While he made recommendations for addtional products and services - he readily accepted my decisions and desire to keep the cost within my budget - the interaction I appreciated the most. Gordon completed the job as stated - cleaned up the job site - and provided exactly what we were hoping for! I would highly recommend this company and wish all contractors provided this level of customer service! Tried to post a picture but was unable.

I needed some advice on setting up a Home Video system at home. I contacted "Gordons Light and Sound" by email and they responded promptly. Based on my small budget, they directed me to a solution that I had also looked at through an online search. They helped me confirm that my solution was viable and I could implement it myself (I work in IT). I really appreciated the fact that they took the time to answer my mail and provide some advice.

Great work by Gordon! He designed a new home theater system for my family room (working with as much of the existing equipment as he could), while at the same time making some great suggestions for new components that would really modernize everything, while not overwhelming my budget. He delivered as promised, made sure everything worked perfectly, programmed the entire system....really went above and beyond. Would use his services again, and happily refer him!

When we moved into our home 2 years ago we had Gordon install our home entertainment system and dinning room lights. Gordon advised us on the design and selection of various components of the entertainment system. He ran the cable for televisions in multiple rooms and installed ceiling speakers inside and outside in our lanai. He also had to install the wall switches and various outlets for the dinning room lighting. Having just moved in, the house was freshly painted. Gordon was extremely neat and meticulous in his work. You would never have know he was there. After that we had Gordon install outdoor lighting with motion detectors. We had some issue with our XM radio due to both our internet provider and XM-Sirius. Gordon was there each step of the way to help diagnose and correct the problem. Recently we had to replace the receiver and Gordon came out on a Saturday afternoon to help hook it back up. Gordon is the best. If you have home entertainment system of lighting needs call him. You won't be disappointed.

Gordon was punctual, professional and helpful. He was a pleasure to work with and deal with. I recommend him to everyone.

Gordon was extremely prompt and knowledgeable. We bought a house pre-wired and Gordon got us up and running. He also came back a week later to help us with an update to the system. We will absolutely be using Gordon for all of our AV needs. He is amazing and knows his stuff! A+++++++!

It went fantastic. We had purchased a new smart tv and unfortunately it was smarter than us. We could not get the tv to work well with our older surround sound system. We were using way too many remotes. Gordon came to the house, on time, quoted us a very fail fee. Upon our agreement, he got right to work. He hooked everything up, recalibrated the sound for our Bose system and. Coordinated the remotes. Then he took the time to explain everything to us. I would absolutely use Gordon again and can sincerely recommend him.

Gordon is our go-to guy for A/V. He installed our original A/V system a couple years back; stand-alone rack, multiple sources including various game systems, satellite TV, remote programming, in-ceiling speakers, and wall-mounted TV. He is always very thorough and professional. This project was the addition of new equipment, remote programming, and various other minor updates .

I called Gordon for a quote to mount a 65" TV in one room where the pre-wire was already completed, and also mount a 32" in a second room where the we would require some wiring work. He picked up on the first call and was quite professional and personable. He said that he would provide a quote via email later in the day. His quote arrived several hours later and read like a statement of work. I am impressed with his level of professionalism, but I believe that the job was too small for him based on the quote. I then asked that he split the quote into two, one for the great room, and the other for the guest room, and he replied that he could, but it would take a couple days because he was behind on paperwork. It's been two days and I didn't hear from him, so I suppose that I wasn't important enough. So all that said, if you like the price, I assume that he probably does really good work that you would never be upset about, simply based on the level of effort put into his quote, but unfortunately, things did not work out for he and I.

Gordon was hired to mount my 65" TV and install a top of the line 7 (ceiling mounted) speaker home theater system. I could not be more pleased with the work. Gordon was a pleasure to work with and is very skilled and professional.

This guy is awesome. Incredibly professional, showed up on time for both the estimate and the work, and stayed later than he really should have in order to make sure that we were more than satisfied. I should've written the review back then--my wife asked me to--but it's in her account, and I never got around to it. The fact that I'm doing it a year later should show how much I liked this guy's work. He did a fantastic job, and we've had nothing but enjoyment from his work. He even gave me his cell number if there were ever any issues, and I actually called him for some advice in replacing a DVD player that I'd bought before he did the service. He was incredibly helpful--no charge, of course---and talked me through how to integrate a new one into our current system without having him come out to do a service call. This kind of professionalism is truly rare today, and I'm ashamed that it took me this long to review him online. For any of your lighting or home theatre needs, you'd be crazy to go anywhere else. Gordon represents the best aspects of an excellent contractor: - Great communication - Arrives on time - Cleans up afterwards - Presents himself and represents his company like a professional - Keeps to his estimate The job at my home went great. It took about a half day longer than expected (1.5 days total) due in large part to the hot attic work for the cable runs and the need to confine that work to the cooler morning hours. I supplied all of the hardware (TV's, mounts, speakers) and Gordon did the physical installation of the in-wall and in-ceiling cable runs and mounting of the TV's (47" and 50") on the walls. After the cable runs and mounted TVs were in place, I did all of the hook-ups and configuring. I would absolutely use Gordon again, and in fact he's working on a bid for different project in another part of my house.

Gordon was prompt, efficient, reasonably-priced, and did outstanding work. He also set the remote and explained in detail how it worked as well as apps that went along with the new receiver.

Awesome!!! Gordon was extremely professional, punctual and expedient. He not only performed the work initially requested, within the cost estimated, but he went the extra mile to fix gaps that other providers (cable company and electrician) could not fulfill. Although I knew what I wanted, I did not have the expertise to know the best ways to execute and Gordon was able to recommend the best plan to ensure the end result was flawless. For the new mount location, it required a new outlet (performed by an electrician, successfully) and a new cable outlet. The cable company had me convinced the only way to do so was to extend an outlet from inside the home (approx 100ft or more) with cable (visible) coming out of the wall and trailed out to the mounting wall. Not only would this have been unsightly, but also a few hours of work. Gordon's willingness to look a little further to help me achieve what we wanted, found an easily accessible access via the garage, installed a cable outlet & cable extension (not connected) and made the job for the cable company an easy 15-minute solution. Gordon also returned the following day, in between other jobs, when the electrician could not come back due to a family emergency, and helped me complete the additional work needed on the inside living room TV/wall so that the cables were no longer hanging to reach the original outlet, by installing a raised outlet. Gordon's primary goal was to ensure I was happy with the end result, regardless of what it took to do so. Customer satisfaction was his priority, and he met that 1000% !! When Gordon was done, the result exceeded what I had envisioned and I am so pleased. Thank you, Gordon!!!! Everything is great!!!!

Gordon showed up exactly when he said. He sold us the front speakers in the living room, which sound great. The other speakers we had purchased. Any issues that came up he talked to us about (as far as speaker location due to studs, etc). All the speakers were installed and sound great. Our receiver was a little old so programming the remote ended up taking longer. He stayed until it was all working. We love the remote control. We went from 4 remotes to one!!!

Gordon was great. We were in a bind as we only had a few days to take down the ceiling mounted surround sound speakers before the ceiling work would begin. On very short notice Gordon worked us into his schedule that same week and took down the speakers. We can't thank him enough. After the ceiling work was complete he returned to our home and re-installed the six ceiling mounted surround sound speakers and mounted our TV to our entertainment center, covering the floor with drop cloths in the area where he was working. I highly recommend Gordon and Gordon's Light and Sound.

Gordon was very patient in dealing with us. he came out and inspected the house and we discussed what we needed. We made some last minute changes to our original plan and he was very receptive. He was running late on the dat of the install but called to let me know which I really appreciate. His work was very professional, it looks and sounds great! I've already recommended him to a friend and would heartily recommend him to anyone who wants a home theatre installed right the first time!

We have a home theater and whole-home speaker setup that was professionally installed several years ago. Over time, individual components were replaced, moved, etc. and as a result some pieces of the system no longer worked, either due to loose connections, component failure, etc. The components are housed in a cabinet with very little space, so getting back behind the system to check all the connections was nearly impossible. In addition, we had a problem getting a signal through the coax in one of the bedrooms. I suspected a cut cable somewhere but was not able to diagnose it on my own. I found Gordon on Angie's list and decided to give him a call based on the positive reviews. Boy, am I glad I did! Gordon answered my call and was able to come out and take a look at the situation within a couple of days. He was very thorough in his review of my current setup and was able to provide several alternatives for improving and upgrading. He did not push any over-the-top solutions but simply gave me alternatives based on how much I wanted to spend, from simply getting all my existing equipment back up and running or upgrading individual components as well. He gave me the pros and cons of each option, gave his recommendation, and let me decide which was best. He provided a detailed estimate within a few days. I was able to purchase one of the new components on my own, so he removed that from the estimate no problem. Within a week Gordon was able to come out and perform the work. He was very courteous and professional in our home. He kept me updated on what he was doing and asked for my input as necessary. He worked quickly and efficiently but did not rush through the job. His estimate included the price for the total job, so I didn't have to watch the clock as he worked. The end result was a greatly improved system, both functionally and from an organization standpoint. I never dreamed it would come out as nicely as it did. Now the whole system works wonderfully and I am able to take advantage of some of the newer networked technology such as controlling the system with an iPad. The components and cables are organized nicely and it will be much easier to maintain the system going forward (no more rat's nest of cables and cords!). Oh, and he was able to fix the bedroom coax line that had been broken since we moved in years ago. I can't say enough how pleased I am with Gordon. I will definitely call him again should I have any home theater or electrical needs.
