Description of Work: Reed Roofing did and excellent job, they were neat and did quality work completing the job in the time they said they would. Would recommend them to anyone!

Description of Work: After relying upon a local handyman who failed to perform, I signed on to Angie's List to help determine what contractors to use for my projects. Don Reed Roofing had good reviews so I contacted them for a quote on a metal roofing project. The good news is that they did handle the short time frame well and completed the job within the agreed upon price. | |The bad news is that I did not know they had hired a subcontractor that I would not have chosen to perform the job. The subcontractor's installation has a number of issues. First, the quality of the installation is only fair. The subcontractors failed to properly seal a chimney hole prior to installing the new metal roof. They failed to take the time to ensure a good fit. They failed to seal the plumbing vents. They left some nails holding down the purlins into the roof protruding too high and then installed the metal roof over these nails thus puncturing the new roof. They also left an exposed edge instead of overlapping the metal roofing which has the potential for leaking in the future. Second, the drip edges on the gables were too short allowing water to run onto and down the actual wood rafters. A call to the Don Reed led him to visit and he said it was installed properly and he would not install a wider drip edge. Thus I had to call another roofer who fixed the drip edges and discovered all of the above errors in the installation.

Description of Work: Complete kitchen remodel, subcontractor Craig Moorman and crew were fantastic, ceilings, kitchen, granite, travertine backsplash, ceramic floors in dining, kitchen and laundry room, new den flooring. I love it all!!

Description of Work: Removed roofing over deck and built a new peaked roof. Put metal roofing on house and deck roof. Very professional and polite workers. Highly recommend them! Came through with plans and accommated our schedules. If you are in the market for quality roofing don't hesitate to call Don or Paul. Cleaned up as promised also!

Description of Work: The staff is generally great, but I did have two issues. First off, we were unsure what type of roof to have put on, and asked for help from the estimator. He told us the pros and cons on each type and we made our decision and selected a metal roof. We were not told that there are two types of metal roofs and that the one we selected would have the bolts showing. The other type, which has the bolts hidden and the type we had seen in other areas of the United States, is fair more costly. It would have been helpful if the estimator had shown close up views, as we would have selected a shingle roof if we had known. FYI, the type the we have is common in Lake City, so it is less a problem on devaluing the house; I just do not find it as nice. |The other issue was the actual roofing crew threw stuff down from the roof on to fragile/young plants and the guy on the ground not only was slow to pick up stuff (increasing the damage done), but he also knocked a metal roofing panel onto a plant and then just left there for a couple of hours. The supervisor talked the crew more than once about this, but obviously some of the crew was either hard headed or slow on the uptake. |The owner, Don Reed, and the supervisor were both very responsive to both of my issues. Unfortunately, they are unable to stand guard to police the roofing crew to be cognizant of damaging the plants.

Description of Work: First, a lady made me an appointment next day; then received a message later in the day that they were booked solid, but could send two men out to find and repair the leak for $200 per hour plus materials. Since I got the message later in the day, I called and got the answering machine; left a message to "forget it" as I felt I was being taken advantage of by them!

Description of Work: We purchased a home Don Reed Construction built in 2005. We are very pleased with the quality of the construction and the durability of the home. It is now 7 years old and we have no problems with any of the components. We would highly reccomend Don Reed Construction for any construction needs. We will definitely use Don Reed Construction/Reed Roofing when we build again.
