TruGreen Lawn Care - 5764

I've been using TruGreen for 6 years and finally I've given up. The service has been mostly positive, my lawn has always been green and weed-free. However their billing practices have been degenerating. In the past I've had difficulty with them applying additional services such as fire ant treatment without consulting me first. I have them service my mom's lawn as well, so the bill was massive. In order to pay it down I suspended service for a few weeks. When I asked them to restart the service, they decided to create a new contract and apply fire ant and other treatments for the second time, again without consulting me. The only way they would compensate me was by giving me small discounts on different services for several months. Finally I got a bill for $200; they had treated both properties and double-billed me for each service. UPDATE June 3rd 2014: I discussed this with Tru-Green customer support and they credited me for overbilling, but the billing details are still a mess with the accounts for both properties remaining merged. Changing grade based on CS rep's efforts. I'll stay with them for the time being due to the unarguable effectiveness of the treatment. The service is VERY good as long as you keep on top of the billing. UPDATE June 25 2015: The billing nightmare continues. Looking for another service as they absolutely refuse to call and schedule services with me before performing them, accounts for two properties remain merged, no way to see scheduled services calendar, and corporate office does not seem to keep in touch with local offices. No more. Again, this is an issue with billing and support, not treatment or local personnel.

TruGreen has been treating my lawn since March of 2007 and today it looks awful. Large patches of grass are ruined and I have plenty of weed growth. When I complain about the lawn, management tells me I should be calling and advising them of my problems, even though they are here every month applying their chemicals to my lawn. When I did complain all I got was, what I considered, ridiculous excuses and no results. Two weeks ago a manager was supposed to call and make an appointment to discuss my dissatisfaction with their services. No one called. Yet another example of poor customer service. I have had enough. Today, May 12, 2013, I finally cancelled their service and am now with another lawn care company. Let's see how they do!

I had TruGreen for 3 years. During the 2nd year, call them back between service calls to retreat because the weeds and bad spots did not improve. I called them back 6 or 7 times during the year and still the yard did not have any improvements. Called to cancel the service but they convinced me to stick with them for one more year. I did and the year got worse. Will not use them ever again. The absolute worst service.

Tru-green did a super job with making my lawn look green and healthy. They called before they came as I requested. The only thing I didn't like was they raised the price the following year, so I dropped them.

They make the pitch that every issue you have in your lawn they can fix. As it turns out MUCH of what I had going on they did not do without extra cost but did not tell me that up front. A week after my first treatment I received a call from corporate by a very pushy, relentless salesman trying to sell me a full lawn aeration. I finally had to be rude before he would hang up. I saw absolutely NO improvement in the lawn after the treatments and a too much "talk" by the technician. In fact, it looks worse now than when they started. I was to receive an extra (free) pesticide spray. No one ever came out. There was always confusion on scheduling. When I'd call to talk to someone I got a different person each time and not local. The right hand didn't seem to know what the left hand was doing. Terrible communicators. I would never use nor recommend this company to anyone. The only bight spot is that I didn't sign a contract so I could fire them anytime!!!

It was relatively smooth. My main issue with this company was related to billing issues I had on a few occasions. However, most were settled pretty quickly.

The service was average. I tried to get somebody to come out and give me a quote, but the first time they canceled on me. About a week later somebody came out, but they were an hour late. When they quoted me prices I told them I wanted to talk it over with my wife, but I kept getting high pressure to do the service. When I finally told them I would call them and let me know I got something in the mail yesterday saying somebody would be out a number of times for annual applications, even though nobody has called me to confirm whether I even want the service. They told me somebody would call me before they stop by, but that is not what I told them. When they came out for the quote I did not get a lot of time with them to discuss what they were going to do.

Aggressive sales tactics. Very uncomfortable experience

They are pretty consistent and they have the weed under control.

The only good thing about them was their contracts. They didn't do the job and there were still red ants. The grass were dying and weeds were popping out.

I have been using them for quite a while. They have always been responsive to my needs. Their quality of service is good. i have no complaints.

They are one the big companies. I have a big lawn. Their lawn service is pretty good. They have ornamental planting.

I don’t use them anymore. I wasn’t pleased with the service. I thought that I was paying way too much for a monthly service. That was one of the reasons why I cancelled it for something that I could do twice a year. My lawn looks much better than what they were doing.

They are good and very regular. They are reliable, on time, show up to do the work, then put a little sign in the yard and it works. I will use them again in the future.

At their last visit my husband asked the man if he would do another service, Instead of charging us some, he charged us another whole service call for doing something when he was already here. We didn't think that was fair. For each service they charged $61. We complained to corporate. My husband sent an email and they called. They said they would like to do another service for free. We said that was fine but we weren’t going to pay them any more and we weren't going to use their service. He said that was fine. A few days later the local people called and said that if we had stopped, they couldn't come on our property and they weren't going to do it. They were very snotty. The local people were really very unkind. They did come when they said they would come each time. The person who did the work was professional but the office was not.

Tru Grain is a very reliable and punctual company. Their people are courteous, professional and very knowledgeable. Since we have used this company our lawn looks really nice and we have very little bug infestations, weeds and so forth.

In September 2006, a Chem Lawn operator spilled fertilizer on my lawn. This created a dead area in the center of my lawn. I had the Chem Lawn salesperson,come out to examine this. He acknowledged that his operator had killed the grass. The remedy offered was that his personnel would come out promptly and plug the dead area. Subsequently, a Chem Lawn employee came to my home and left me a notice telling me that I needed to dig out the affected area and prepare it for planting. I still have a large bare spot in the center of my lawn. Avoid this outfit, the service personnel are careless and not under adequate supervision. The sales department is pushy and communication between the two is ineffective. Of course, the correct remedy for negligent destruction of one's lawn is resodding the affected area, not sticking some plugs into it.

I wasn't happy with Tru Green Chem Lawn. They sprayed more often than we agreed to, so we had to pay more then the contract stated.

TruGreen ChemLawn was hired to green up my lawn, and now it is worse, more weeds more bugs. I think they used bad fertilizer that contained bugs and weeds. I will not use them again.

There have been times when I didn't think that the weed killer was performing as it should, so they came back out and sprayed. We have used them for a few years. They do a pretty good job.

Trugreen Chemlawn did exactly what I hired them to do. They were terrific when it came to customer service. They were also easy to contact in case I had to change my service.

I am very pleased with Trugreen Chemlawn. They call before they come out, so I'm never inconvenienced. The quality is very good. My lawn and plants look amazing.

TruGreen ChemLawn reduces my work and makes my lawn look great. I've been with them for many years, and I would never go else where. They offer reasonable prices, are friendly, and do great work.

I have used Trugreen Chemlawn since January, and they do a wonderful job. My yard has never looked better. They come out on time and are dependable. Their professionalism shows in their work. I recommend Trugreen Chemlawn to everyone.
