Although they were able to turn my front yard around; they consistently did not treat the back yard. After IRMA we had a lot of damage which included a tree to be removed from the roof and one from a back yard fence...half my front yard was filled with cut up tree. It required 2 months of phone calls and the service guys still treating half my yard ( at the same price) to have the service suspended. A couple of months later they tried to sell me an additional treatment service of which I said I’d think about it...they promised to confirm. They did the extra service. When I called to cancel, they talked me into waiting a couple of month and then we would talk about renewing or discontinuing the monthly service. They never called but came and did the service again. I have now, hopefully, successfully fired them and been placed on a do not call list

It was mediocre. They treat the yard, it's looking okay, but we had to call and have them come back to respray some areas, they over sprayed and killed some flower bushes. When I called them about it they did just re treatment of it, that was about the same, and it was, again, it's just not as professional as we'd hoped, not the performance that we'd expected for the price we're paying. We've had them for about 6 or 7 months.

They come out once a month for fertilizing and weed control. They usually call me the day before they come out. It takes about an hour. They usually leave me a slip. They'll knock on the door when they come. If I'm here, great I'll see them and talk to them. If I'm not, every time whether I'm here or not, they always leave me a slip on the door telling me what they've done. It's not always the same person because they have turnover, but so far it's worked out well.

Started out with Scotts lawn care and was happy until they sold to TruGreen... now services that were included before like a winter dormancy treatment cost extra in the lawn service, and the separate outdoor pest control service I also have with them does not cover fire ants in the yard as it did before. These are just the things I know of which are not covered ( I am sure there are more) because they have called me to up sale the services which I thought were included as they have been for the last 5 years with Scotts before they sold to TruGreen. Not happy with them, A nickle here, a dime there and they are ripping off customers with services which should be part of a complete service plan.

Terrible! Lost most of my back and side yards to sod web worms. The attached pictures are from 5 weeks after they started the service. I called weekly to get them to come back out and tried to talk to or get a manager to come out. It was months before I was successful. The manager made excuses and wouldn't accept responsibility. I demanded a full refund.

TruGreen did NOT get either the chinch bugs or the sod web worms under control and the damage to my yard is substantial, to the point I'm going to have to replace sod. I called repeatedly for technicians to retreat and the yard continued to get worse. For the past month I've been calling to request a service manager come out to see the yard and, to date, I haven't seen anyone. The picture with the mostly green lawn was taken on August 1 and shows damage occurring to the lawn, but the other two pictures were taken September 15 and show how much damage has occurred even after TruGreen has supposedly been out here at least 5 times since early July. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY FOR INSECT CONTROL!
Description of Work: I started seeing chinch bug and sod web worm moths in my yard in June and tried to eliminate them using store bought product. I was keeping them under control and the sod damage wasn't bad, but I received a call from a TruGreen service manager in early July saying he'd driven by and noticed the damage and he convinced me TruGreen would have no problem taking care of the the insects. I signed up July 5, 2016.

It's a winter treatment so not much to take away. My ratings are specific to the past 5+ years of service. While the first 2 to 3 years yielded improvements the past 2 years were unremarkable. This year I sent multiple pictures of weeds that continued to sprout, receiving no response. They continually tried to sell me shrub treatments for insects that did not exist. They even attempted to correlate shrub bugs to lawn bugs. Having an arborist in the family allowed me to get evidence to the contrary. Tru Green is a marketing and service machine. I cannot recommend them. That said the technicians who visited were always friendly and spoke in detail as to what was being done.

I hired them to come out and treat my lawn because I had put my house on the market and wanted the grass to look its best and also hired them to treat for ants and other bugs. The tech came out and treated the lawn twice, after the second treatment I noticed my grass (ST Augustine) started turning a redish purple color and it just kept getting worse until the entire yard seemed to be effected. I called Truegreen and they said they would send a supervisor out to figure out what was going on. About a week later the same tech that treated the lawn came by and I asked him what was going on with my lawn. He stated that someone had mixed the treatment chemical wrong and it had burnt my lawn. Needless to say, I was not happy because now I had house for sale with a nasty looking lawn that appeared to be dying. When I asked the tech what they were going to do about it he replied, "What do you want me to do about it?" I said, "Fix my lawn, it was not looking like this when you first started spraying my lawn". He was a arrogant little p*** about it and replied, "There is nothing I can do about it, so don't worry about it. It will grow back in 6-8 weeks."I told him, "Don't you realize I have my house on the market and that this effects the sell/selling price of my house?" to which he responded, "Well... what do you want me to do about it?" I said, "It would be nice if you acted at least a little bit concerned!" I had a real problem with fire ants as well, so I had paid them to specifically target the fire ants. The tech would treat 1 or 2 of the fire ant mounds with a powder out of the 20 or so that were spread throughout my lawn. It was a worthless approach to getting rid of the fire ants, so I resorted to treating them my self. The bottom line is, Truegreen is an absolutely horrible lawn care company with horrible customer service. Please save your self the money and aggravation and hire someone that actually cares about making your lawn look nice.

DON'T EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY The service was not good, my grass was the worst on the block, even neighbors who did not have lawn services. But, I didn't make a big deal about it, I just chalked it up to live and learn. So, I called with one more service due to me and cancelled, the lady was nice and said we are sorry to see you leave and accepted my termination request.. That is where the calls just kept on coming. To make it as easy as possible, I just said I wanted to do it myself, but they would not listen, kept on trying to cut the cost. But, every time I said no. After, numerous calls all throughout the day, begging for my business, they finally stopped and sent me back the unused portion of what I paid (of course it was not the correct amount), but I just let it go. A month later after getting a new service, which by the way my grass has never looked better; they called again from the local office. I told him I got a new service and I didn't want their services. He proceeded to say, I know you got a new service and at he time i wasn't thinking, but said no and hung up. I called back, just wondering how he knew I got a new service, and he became very rude, because you told me and said don't ever call me again. He was obviously cold calling from a script, I never told him I got a new service; the odd thing is he called me and telling me not to call him again was my exact response.. They are desperate for business, if you sign up with them and you decide you want to leave they will lie and cheat to try to get you back, don't fall for it. Just don't sign up with then in the first place.

Absolutely the worst company you could deal with and from looking at the reviews already posted, they obviously don't care about Angie's list ratings. Tru-Green serviced my yard for a number of years. At first, the tech did a good job but then they started actually treating less and less of my yard while still charging full price. I called and complained time and again and was always told a manager would come out to the property and look at what was done and not done (I never saw a manager). I finally had enough and cancelled the service early this year with a $0 balance. Two months later, the billing nightmares began. Now they have tried to bill me for 2 treatments last year which were never performed and which they had already had taken off of my bill long prior to my cancellation of the service. I can find nothing to recommend about Tru-Green.

They sprayed diseased area, planted the plugs, ( but in the totally wrong area) then sprayed the winterizer all within 3 days. They charged me $29.95 for the first treatment to fix the grass ( which I was told would be free) Then to my surprise they charged (unauthorized) my credit card for $170. Which was for the plugs and the November fee. I called the sales guy on Saturday and he got back with me and said it would be Monday for him to fix the charges and get someone out to fix the grass plug problem. I did not hear from him all day Monday to I called him at 430p. He said he could not do anything about the automatic charges and that the company probably put me on autopay. Which I specifically told him NOT TO DO. He gave me the 1 800 number to call to get off auto pay. Really? Then he said he would have someone out that week to install the plugs in the correct place. He said they did not follow the yard diagram he gave them. He would fix it. I still have not heard from anyone. I called and got a reverse charge on the $125 for the plugs, but they would not budge on the $45 charge for November. So I cancelled today. Unfortunately, the lawn still looks terrible, they did not touch the area in the side yard and the plugs are in the wrong place. So now I have sand spur weeds, which I never had before and a few plugs of grass in the wrong place.
Description of Work: They cold called my house because I had a problem with the grass in the front. Good tactic I thought. I was told they could fix it in a month. Not only that but, that they would treat the grass to get it healthy with the first application being free. Was supposed to treat diseased area of the front lawn and back side yard. Then plant St. Augustine grass plugs. Then after the plugs took they were supposed to spray yard with winterizer and weed control. I gave them authorization to charged $29.95 for the 1st treatment after the grass was "healed". The after the plugs were installed I would be sent a invoice in the mail for $125, then the after first application in November I would be sent an invoice for $45.

Do not engage True Green for any services. They lied, and deceived, said they said they performed services they did not perform. They do not provide you with a local phone number/contact unless you insist after repeated problems and calls to the global help desk. I have a brand new house with Zosia grass. It was well installed and is well rooted and was lush when we moved in. After 2 months the grass began to look under nourished and had a brown/yellow cast to it. My next door neighbor had Scapes fertilize his lawn and it looks great. It turned a nice healthy green in about a week. I had heard of TrueGreen, and wanted to avoid the hassle of fertilizing the grass myself, so I called them up and ordered their plan. I ordered their TruHealth Lawn Service plan, and paid $451.70 in advance to receive the 5% discount for the year. They came out and sprayed in about a week, left a post it note in the yard. I waited two weeks, and the yard looked exactly the same if not worse. I contacted them and they sent out a technician who said he was here to spray for weeds. I do not have a weed problem, and none was reported. I told him it was a yellowing problem and the grass needed fertilizer, he argued with me and then sped off in his truck................ Anyway this went on for another 3-4 weeks with no way to contact the local office, and finally they sent out a "Manager" (Joey Stephens), who said, and I quote, "This Zosia grass is new to us. We are trying to figure out how to treat it. We don't know much about it. We went to a short school at UF and got training, but all of the lawn service companies are confused and do not know how to treat Zosia. In fact several of your neighbors are suing their builder because the Zosia grass is not good and is prone to fungus" This from the manager.????? I canceled the service. Talked to a Service technician, Jahnisha #22241 who canceled my service and gave me a confirmation number and a refund amount of $413. After two weeks I did not hear anything, contacted them again and spoke to Corin #13543 who said my card had been refunded, but only for $368 because "We came out twice on one day and sprayed for chinch bugs". I have Zosia, it does not get chinch bugs, that service was not requested and was never performed. (No post it note in the yard and I work from home so I stare at my front yard all day every day. They never sprayed for chinch bugs, and if they did it was not ordered and should not have been done as a separate chargeable service. Bottom line, go to Lowes and buy a bag of Scotts for $45 and a $20 spreader, you will be much happier and will not feel ripped off. But remember this, if you get fertilizer with IRON in it, make sure your blow it off your driveway/sidewalk before you water it or it will stain your concrete......................... I will never recommend TrueGreen or use their services again.

Technician was on time and performed services agreed upon. We switched from another company based upon Tru Green's sales pitch. However, lawn doesn't appear any healthier than it was with our previous company. Weed patches continue to grow. Said they are the only company in town that is able to get rid of sedgeweed yet we have more now than before they started to treat our lawn. Technician's solution is to bag next time we mow instead of mulching. Remains to be seen if this will actually help, but we'll give it a try.
