Located in Jacksonville, Florida, Silverman Fence serves the fencing needs of residential and commercial customers throughout Jacksonville and the surrounding areas. We manufacture, supply and install wood fences and supply aluminum, wood and vinyl fences. We are skilled and experienced with the installation of all types of fences. We are fully licensed and insured and have been in business for over 38 years. When you use Silverman Fence you deal directly with the owner. We believe in providing quality, honest service and do not subcontract any of our work.

Perfect! Love these guys.
Description of Work: Hurricane Mathew blew down a side of my 96 year old father-in-law who was having a hard time understanding why no one was coming out to fix the fence. Obviously, a lot going on after the hurricane. I contacted Silverman Fence and they had a guy out for an estimate and the work done the following week. Awesome! The price was more than fair.

On August 22-23, 2016, Silvermnan Fencing did an excellent job installing a beautiful 4 foot aluminum fence on my property overlooking a pond. It went well, except the installers did not bring the tools they needed and had to borrow some of mine and then go back to the shop for a drill. Luckily the shop was nearby so it didn't take much longer.
Description of Work: replaced a gate on a chain link fence using the existing hardware and installed a drop rod.

The installers change trucks on occasion and sometimes don't transfer their tools with them. I apologize for any inconvenience borrowing something may have caused but we do have the tools necessary to complete each project. I do hope the overall installation was a pleasant experience for you.

They came in with the highest estimate on the job, but they were the most friendly and attentive of the companies we got estimates from, so we gave them a chance to put in a competitive bid and they came back within a few hundred dollars of the best estimate. Furthermore, they were the only company who did not require any payment until the job was done, so we went with them. They were able to get the materials in within a week and could have started the job immediately after that, except we were stuck waiting on HOA approvals. We had to reschedule the install twice due to our HOA and they were very accommodating through the process. Once we had the approval, they brought two teams of workers in and finished the job in 1 day. I have no complaints on the quality of the work and the guys they sent out were very friendly and professional. I would definitely recommend this company and/or use them again.

Homeowner association approvals can slow the process of getting a new fence slightly. We recommend if you live in a deed restricted community, that you obtain this approval prior to having any work completed on your property. This avoids leans on your home and unhappy faces. Thank you for allowing us to rebid your project prior to choosing a contractor. No money down and balance is due at completion, it really is that easy!! Satisfied customers are our business!! We do try and provide the best price upfront during the initial estimate, no one likes surprises at the end. The only time the price changes from the proposal we provide, is if the homeowner changes the layout during installation or it is determined the layout needs to change due to unforeseen circumstances. The appointment for the estimate only took one day and they showed up on time. The lead time to getting the work done was only one week. Special scrolling on the gates was done at no extra expence. The installers were courteous and were able to preserve the Jasmine that was on the old fence. They strung up the jasmine on the new fence. The took away all the old fence and policed the area before leaving. I strongly recommend Silverman Fence

Our lead time will vary pending the time of year, so I am glad we were able to accommodate your project promptly. The signature scroll on the gate is designed to provide a beautiful view of the line even if the gate sags. The gate is the operational part and may sag, we can adjust the gate when this occurs. We not only do full projects but we also do repairs, there is no job to big or to small!! Preserving the Jasmine was our pleasure and I am pleased the installers were able to provide you a smile at the end of the project.

They were 20-40% more than the other two bids I got. When I asked why, they said their profit was only 2% for this job and acted like they were doing me a favor. In the end, I guess you get what you pay for, because the less expensive company didn't show up and I called Silverman anyway! They did the job 3 days earlier than scheduled--only they didn't tell me! I found job done when I got home from work. Anyway, the work seems to be done well and I would use them again.

Silverman Fence would never just "not show up" for a customer, that's just bad business!! The costs can be slightly higher than another companies for several reasons: product quality, in-house employee vs a subcontractor and property environment. Contacted Lynda before Hurricane Fay hit the area. We scheduled installation, not realizing that the hurricane would hit Jax. Because of this, there was some delay in getting the estimator out to the house and utilities marked. I certainly didn't expect them to come out and I was not surprised when they didn't show. When we were back on track after the hurricane, I worked with their estimator to finalize exactly what we needed. He was very polite and courteous (and early!!). After I signed the estimate, the installation was scheduled for 2 days later. The man who installed the fence showed up on time and did a good job. I was a little disappointed when the gate had a 6" gap at one end. There was no way around it, because of the swing of the gate and the lay of the ground. But the reason for getting the fence was to confine a wily terrier. He came up with a workable solution for us - he put a 4x4 post cut to length in between the posts. We can remove it when we need to mow and it can go right back in place afterward. It is not the prettiest section of fence there ever was, but I don't think anyone could have done a better job with what we had to work with. The workmanship was very good, so I have no complaints!
Description of Work: We have an existing fence around the entire house and needed to have the sides of our yard fenced in. On one side we had a 5' gate and on the other was just a section of picket fence. All together it was about 15' of fence. They ended up fixing some sections of the existing fence that needed to be repaired after Fay hit.

My neighbors have been saying hey look at that fence. That is how good job a job they did for us. We had used them to build a fence at previous home that we owned and we were very pleased with their work then too.
Description of Work: We had a privacy fence built around our home. Silverman Fence built a Dog-eared Stockade Wood fence with a gate in the front. The fence went around a 3000 square foot area.
