+ -1 moreWe hired Martin Home Exteriors to build a screen room. We had an existing covered lanai which we wanted expanded out into the yard and screened in. Ken came out to do the estimate himself, and we both liked him right away. He offered some design ideas to help us decide on the best roof shape, etc. for our architecture. He arrached for concrete to be poured, and hired a very professional crew for that as well. When it came time for the actual build, we had two guys there for about two days total. They were quick, paid attention to small details, and all in all did a great job. We're really enjoying our new room ,and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

MHE honored their price quote despite the fact the job he thought would take a single day turned into a two day job due to the unexpected need for different base materials behind the siding. The job was done on time, at the cost quoted. We were pleased with the installation and the house looks great.
Description of Work: Two large windows were replaced with smaller ones. The exterior wall was re-framed and siding was installed to cover the area where the larger window had been.

+ -1 moreFiber-cement lap siding was installed over existing T1-11 siding on 3 sides of our home. Portions of the existing siding that had rotted were cut out and replaced to provide a structurally sound base for the new siding. The job was started and completed sooner than originally estimated. The final cost was only slightly more than the original estimate because of a pre-existing minor plumbing problem that was encountered during the installation and had to be repaired. In addition some door jambs that were not part of the original estimate were repaired at a nominal cost. We are very pleased with the quality of the work.

Description of Work: Took out old windows and replaced with new ones, replaced hardy board and trim around windows that had water damage from leaks from the previous horrible cheap trim.

+ -1 moreMr. Martin gave me a fair estimate for the work to be done. He promised that there would be no hidden/additional costs and stuck to that promise. He estimated that they could start the job in 4-6 weeks. I was surprised when he called a couple weeks early and asked if I was ready for them to start the job. The gentlemen that did the work arrived before I left for work in the morning and worked full days until the job was complete. They often went above and beyond the call of duty clearing branches and other obstacles away from the house so they could work. Upon completion of the job, Mr. Martin came out to inspect the house with me to make sure everything was done to my satisfaction. I was very pleased with my experience with Martin Home Exteriors. My interactions with everyone was positive and professional. I would definitely choose Martin Home Exteriors for any further work.

+ -1 moreI called Mr Martin to find out if he carried our siding brand. He could order it so we arranged to have him make the repair. We were able to come to an agreement on price that was agreeable to both of us.
Description of Work: We needed a damaged corner of our vinyl siding repaired. The siding is extremely difficult to find. Mr Martin was able to find a corner piece to make the repair. It was expensive since we only needed that one piece but Martin was easy to work with and did a good job.

+ 1 moreIt went very well. The best experience I have EVER had with any home improvement company ! The installers (Gary and Randy) were the nicest gentlemen you could ever hope to meet. They were friendly, courteous and answered all my questions without being condescending or making me feel stupid. They told me exactly what they were going to do and how they were going to do it. They were punctual and very hard workers. There were a few unexpected surprises with some plumbing pipes near the area where siding was being installed, but they spoke to me about it and handled it calmly and very professionally; therefore, I did not panic because they did not panic, they did the job they were hired to do. The job took two (2) days to complete; they are fast workers! I will have them back out in the future to install siding on the remainder of my home! The siding looks beautiful and I am very happy and impressed with Martin Home Exteriors.
Description of Work: Ken Martin gave me an estimate for Hardi-Plank lap siding for my entire home and another estimate for just the back side, which I wanted to do at this time. He did not try to force or hard sell me, which I liked. I also got some estimates for the future for new windows, screened porch etc. just to give me an idea of the cost for such items. Ken was very nice, professional and answered all of my questions. I had estimates from other companies as well, but I felt most comfortable with him and drove around viewing some of his reference work and spoke with someone who had used his company before. Therefore, I chose this company over others. I decided to get the following work done at this time: Install new Hardi-Plank Color Plus lap siding on the entire "back" side of my house. Install Hardi-trim around three (3) windows, one (1) back door and one (1) double sliding glass door. Remove rotten wood trellis that was attached to my roof over the patio. Remove a t.v. antenna which I no longer needed. Haul off all debris and trash.

+ -1 moreI am new to the area and recently purchased a home in an old neighborhood. I referred to Angie's List to find a window and siding expert to consult on my 1948 bungalow. I contacted Ken at Martin Exteriors and we set up a time for him to take a look. Ken confirmed his appointment with me and showed up on time -- I like that he uses email and texting to communicate. I was impressed with his knowledge and appreciation of older homes. In fact, he encouraged me not to pursue the siding -- worried that siding would change considerably the charm and appeal of the home. The windows were a different matter -- old, rotting, painted shut. He was a thoughtful and thorough advisor. I felt fully confident in my purchase. His workers -- who were at my house for the better part of 2 weeks working on 14 window replacements -- were pleasant, polite, conscientious and professional. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. Great experience for me.

Liked the instructional video he provided as well. In the end I decided to have the current wood siding repaired and painted one more time, and so I had to use a different contractor for this service. A good experience and I would go back to Ken Martin for siding.

+ 3 moreMartin Home Improvement did this job as estimated on time. They cleaned up the area as they went along. Any gutters that needed to be removed they replaced and painted those. They were on time for the estimate and when they have returned to fix any concerns. Excellent work.
Description of Work: Martin Home Improvement repaired and replaced siding in my home, replaced as needed rotten boards. Sealed all areas of siding, primed and painted the entire outside of the house. Fixed and replaced bad wood on the fireplace and replaced that siding. Also, has returned to touch up area as requested. They painted all exterior doors and window trims. Martin Home Improvement also screened in my patio, sealed all seams.
