My 13-year-old hot water tank stopped making hot water one evening while my granddaughter was trying to get a bath. Since it was late in the evening, I opted to boil hot water for the bath. I am a new member with Angie's List and thought I would use the rest of the evening to research the name of a good plumber. I decided on David Gray Plumbing after reading all the reviews. I put a call in at 8:00 a.m. the following morning. I was surprised that two of their workers showed up in less than hour later! I really thought I would end up sitting all morning waiting! I can only say good things about David Gray Plumbing! The 2 gentlemen were professional, courteous and very informative. They were upfront in telling me that they could just replace the coils, but could not guarantee that something else would go wrong. I knew that since the old unit was 13 years old, it was a matter of time before I would have to replace the entire unit. The new unit was delivered shortly after I gave the word to replace it. Unfortunately, the new unit was damaged. They then called for another replacement which arrived shortly after. Again, this tank was slightly damaged--a small dent in the back. I told them the dent did not matter to me as long as the tank worked efficiently. They assured me it would and gave me a small discount. I was also able to receive a military discount! Hot water...discounts...reasonable amount of time...happy customer! I need to share another short story. My poor neighbor has been dealing with a slab leak with his house. He has called around to several different plumbers to try to get a reasonable cost for the repairs. He happened to stop over while my water tank was being replaced because he saw the truck with "Plumbing" on it. Long story short, he was able to have his repairs done by David Gray Plumbing at a better cost than his other quotes. I know my neighbor is very happy with the work and the cost!

Our hot water heater started to leak,We called David Gray Plumbing from the listing on Angie's list about 7:00 in the evening They returned our call about 7:30 the next morning. We told them our problem, they told us a price and they were out here at 9:00 to install a new heater. Very professional. We were very pleased that they came when we needed service. .

The guy that came out was very professional. He took his shoes off before entering the house and just very courteous. He cleaned up after himself and was just so pleasant. I would highly recommend his services to others.

As an absentee owner of a house in Eagle Harbor, it was AWESOME to have someone accurately assess how the damage to the pipes occurred, which could only have happened due to actions by the tenants. Responded within minutes of my phone call, and got out there on a Sunday within an hour. Kept me informed throughout on what work was being done, and came in under the estimate. We had a mixed experience with this company. They were very polite and very professional but they mis-daignosed our problem the first time. We had a leak and they told us that we needed a new water heater. Our water heater was still under warranty with Home Depot so we called them and they came out and replaced it. The next day we noticed we were getting the same leak in the same place. We called David Gray Plumbing back and they told us that we had a leak in the wall. They fixed the leak and did a good job with that. We were just disapointed because it seems like we didn't really need a new water heater, we just needed the leak fixed. We complained and they took some money off of our bill.

Everythign went great except that the service man came to my house, not the house needing the work. I ordered the work as i'm the property manager, so they came to the billing address, not the property address. easy fix, they went on down the road and it didn't hurt anything.

When I called to set up the appointment, I was quoted rates. approx time simple repair would take. The man who came out was knowledgable gave estimate to fix that was spot on. He worked quickly and efficently. We were very impressed with the service. David Gray was not our lowest estimate but i had read the other customer comments and chose them based on their ratings with other customers.

I feel like they did a great job, but the paid price was AFTER a 30.00 coupon. They were in my home 1 hour(including writing of invoice).

Brian arrived and got to work opening up the clean-out line. Immediately when he penetrated the line, the water flowed out of my swollen showers, so I knew something was working. He removed some root growth in the line and advised that there was a larger root growing in that would have to be taken care of another time. I will make an appointment with my tree surgeon to handle that situation, but for now the line is clean and the drains are flowing. David Gray gets an A on this one.

First visit the plumber said it was lose bolts on the toilet tank, fixed them and tested it. He was helpful and professional. Next day it happened again, only much worse. I called back and they sent another plumber. He saw the damage done (and could smell it) to the bathroom, and hallway carpet. They ran water through all sources (tubs, etc.) but couldn't find anything. I asked if they could snake the line to make sure it wasn't something that would happen again. He said he could but he would have to call for another truck to come and bring a snake -- they didn't carry one on the truck. If you are responding to a flooded bathroom, doesn't a snake sound like a basic piece of equipment? When I told my insurance adjustor I was nervous because the problem had not been resolved, she suggested I get a second opinion. I called another plumbing company and in 30 minutes they found a break in the sewer line, outside, where tree roots had broken through the PVC. It was fixed and I'm putting my house back together. If I hadn't been directed to a second opinion, it would have happened again and ruined another carpet. But then again, why should I have had to call a second company?

I chose not to use the service because when the technician (Richard) called me back to give me the estimate of $150, I told him i had the coupon on Angie's list for $30, he all of a sudden got tongue tied and said he didnt know anything about a coupon and needed to call a Supervisor. I gave him time to call a Supervisor, called him back and was still told he didnt know anything about a coupon. I choose someone else who didnt have a problem honoring their coupon from Angie's List. If you don't want your customers to use the coupon, please remove it!

Good according to my very picky tenant Work performed at 2129 West Quay Rd

I called David Gray plumbing on 8/13 around noon after the tenant at our rental property called to report that the plumbing had backout out affecting both bathrooms at the house. They advised their rates and would have someone out there before the day is over and that they would call me 30 minutes prior to let me know they would be there soon. Just as they said, they called me, showed up on time, brought two trucks, one to fix the valve and one to snake out the drain. They were efficient, the price was fair (and I used a $30 off coupon from Angie's list site as well). The technicians were professional and knowledgable and I really appreciated working wih this company. I would use them again in a heartbeat!

David Gray's guys came out quickly, got the job done in less than two hours, and were very professional. I was also very pleased with the price, as I was expecting it to be much more. We will definitely use these guys again!

My water heat decided to stop working Sunday afternoon. I did not know who to call, so I called David Gray based on the ratings on Angie's List. I called David Gray at about 10am. They had someone at my home by 1pm. The guy came out, was very cordial. He looked at the water heater and began to replace the heating coils. I returned to work in my home office. He came to get me to tell me that one of the heating cools would not come loose. I watched him as he tried to undo this coil - he really put his entire body into it. After discussion, I decided to replace the unit (it was 10 years old so I didn't feel too bad about it). He had a unit delivered within 30 minutes, and he installed it in about 30 minutes. After looking at the bill I was stunned to see that only 1/2 the cost was the actual water heating unit. The remainder of the fees were install, removal, and I have no idea what else. $300 for the unit, $400 for all other costs. I highly recommend you search for pricing of units, and cost of install service before having this work done. I truly believe I spent an exorbitant amount of money for the services. The price of the unit was comparable to other units. The labor was not at all.

I recently purchased a 1936 bungalow which needed just a little TLC. I called David Gray around 5PM one afternoon for non-emergency service. They arrived as scheduled at 8:30 AM they next day and did the repairs requested. It turned out that the lack of water to the master bedroom toilet was a larger problem that we suspected and though they had to crawl under the house and install a missing line, they took it in stride! While they were here, I also had them fix a minor problem with a second toilet. They were polite, professional and clearly interested in making sure they fixed whatever I wanted fixed while they were here. I had used this company on a large job several years ago and was going to call them again but checked to see who was rated high on Angie's list first before I called. They certainly deserve their excellent rating and I will use them again with a plumber is needed.

Went very well, although he had to wait for certain parts to be delivered, he ended up getting the job done quickly. He verified that the grinder pump was working and made sure the toilet was flushing fine. I appreciate that they took the time up front to make sure it was not other problems like a clog in the line. Once they narrowed down the problem they were able to know exactly what they had to do . They called me to let me know when the plumber would be coming (same day) to fix. Overall very satisfied with work and would use them again. On pricing--plumbing is not cheap and you want a professional company that stands behind its work and responds to yur request. I made an appointment--they stuck to the times and fixed it--even though it was a driving rain storm--the plumber kept working on it.

I called in for a free estimate and never heard back from them. I called two days later to find that the work order had not gone through. They then put the work order through and I received a call the following morning. The man I spoke to told me that he couldn't give me a quote of how much it would be to fix the sinks, because he didn't know what was causing the problem. He said he'd send some out that same day... that there was someone who was in the area and they'd be over after they had finished the other job. I waited 4-5 hours. No one came. I had an important doctor's appointment later that afternoon and couldn't cancel it. So, I called David Gray Plumbing and cancelled my work order. I was disappointed in my experience. David Gray Plumbing had come very highly recommended to me by friends and by Angie's List. I guess they were just too busy to take another customer. I called another place and got a quote and service right away.

They went above and beyond, by figuring out a way to save me cost with installation. He was just great, a very nice guy.

I called, they took info (I am a past customer) Ten minutes later their scheduler called to say he had a plumber in the area that could come in 30 minutes. Plumber came, installed faucet, job done.
