Air McCall was very responsive, shifting their schedule to replace a broken A/C unit within 24 hours of being called. Multiple members of their team worked with me on coordinating the quick turn-around time, and they even offered some decent discounts on the install.

They were prompt and courteous and I felt that we got good information from them. Everything was fixed. It’s a common thing in Florida, that’s probably why they don’t charge as much.

They gave me a quote that was $1500 less than another company quoted me for installing the exact same unit. And the guy told me he would come fill it up with Freon to get me through the weekend until they could install the unit.

Air McCall has been the worst company I have encountered in many, many years. They certainly did not live up to their mission statement and promises published on their website. I could not recommend McCall to anyone.
Description of Work: A/C started to blow only hot air late on the evening of 7/1. I selected Air McCall based on Angie's List ratings and reviews as well as my review of the McCall website. I called McCalls the morning of Sunday 7/2 and was told that the technician would call me. After 3-4 hours I again called McCalls and was told that the technician would return my call. An hour later, the technician called to apologize for not calling sooner. He said that he had been very busy and was the only technician on duty. He said that he was working his way toward Orange Park and would see me late afternoon or early evening. We never saw or heard again from anyone at McCalls that day or evening. We had no A/C and the temperature in the house reached 89. Next day, the morning of 7/3, my wife answered a call from McCalls. They were calling to see if our A/C was fixed!! After we explained that the technician never arrived and the house temperature was 89, we were told that they now could not come out until Wednesday July 5. We then found another company who sent someone out immediately and had the A/C repaired and cooling in 30-45 minutes.

Well [Member Name Removed], we not only let you down once, we kept on letting you down even as we had an opportunity to correct our failure! As you noted regarding our positive customer service ratings, we have over 320 'A' ratings in Angies List, along with earning their Super Service Award again this year. But that, along with our BBB 'A+' rating and over 180 '5 Star' Google ratings, means absolutely nothing when we fail like we did with you. We typically have a full compliment of Service Technicians working on holiday weekends but, unfortunately, we had two technicians out with illnesses and we were exceptionally busy during the time when we blew it with you. But there is no excuse for our failure with you on the day you called, and when you called on the next business day, we should have simply squeezed you into our schedule in light of our failure to serve you over the weekend. In other words, we didn't do anything right with you! I can't ever recall failing a customer like we failed with you and I hope you can see from all our great reviews that this was truly a fluke and I promise it will never happen again. If you are interested, I have posted a $200 credit to your account with us that you are free to use for any repair or maintenance in the next 12 months if you decide to give us a "second chance". Technician was a great guy but I did not like the fact that I was charged for a service I never new was being performed. Air McCall has upfront pricing as one of their core values but I was only informed of 1 of the 2 services that were being performed in order to determine why my unit was not cooling (the service I was not informed on cost almost $100). I'm also fearful now because I never heard him using the freon leak meter to test the new coil because his phone was getting blown up by the office and I even heard the person who called him once ask, "What is taking so long?!" so he felt rushed (as anyone probably would in that situation). So now if there is a leak it will cost me another $700 because they only warranty their work for 30 days. Wish I would have used another company for my AC unit.
Description of Work: Bought a Carrier from them 3 years ago because my old unit had a small freon leak and it was getting too costly to have it recharged each year. After having the unit only 3 year I have spent almost $1000 in repairs (just for labor because parts are warranted for 10 years). This time the coils had 2 places where there were leaks so it had to be replaced ($700). Obviously Carrier units are not good at all.

[Member Name Removed], we are truly sorry you are disappointed with the Carrier system we installed for you and it also appears we disappointed you with our pricing to repair it. We really do work our tails off to serve our customers with excellence (our BBB 'A+' rating, over 180 '5 star' Google Reviews, and consistently maintaining Angie's List's highest customer satisfaction rating are the fruits of our efforts toward extraordinary customer service). When a refrigerant leak was discovered in the coil of your air handler, we obtained a brand new factory coil and installed it for you. While the coil was covered by Carrier's warranty, the new refrigerant we had put into your system to replace the old refrigerant (which can get contaminated due to the leak) was not covered. Consequently, a large part of the cost to you was the price of the new refrigerant we had to install. After installing the coil and the new refrigerant, we always want to make sure there are no refrigerant leaks anywhere else so we took time to check everything out for you. This leak-check is part of the repair process and we do charge for it due to the amount of time it takes to do it right. We normally charge $150 for the leak-check but reduced that charge to $80 for you (the industry standard is $175 +). Our technician apparently did not do an adequate job of explaining the leak check to you but did give you a very good discount for it. While the industry standard for warranties on repairs is 30 days, to give you a little more comfort, we have increased your repair warranty on our labor to 1 year. The coil itself will retain the full warranty your system had which is 10 years from the date it was installed. Again, we are sincerely sorry we disappointed you and we hope you will continue to use us in the future. The Air McCall Customer Service Team.

It went well. Both service techs did a good job and had to split the days up b/c of rain outside (didn't want to open the outside unit because of potential damage if it got wet). So another tech came back a couple days later to finish the inspection. Both were pleasant, efficient and knowledgeable.

Great. Robert Battinelli and the two installing technicians were super. We had a 5 Ton Carrier 16 SEER 2 Stage Condensing Unit with 5 Ton Carrier Air Handler installed. Everything went as Robert said it would.

We’ve been dealing with them for 40 years, I guess. I didn’t find the on Angie’s List. We have a different kind of multi-state unit, it cost more than what you would normally see as a catch price for those services. They usually charge $39 or $49, but for this one it is usually more expensive. They’re always on time or a little bit before. If they’re going to be late, they call. What keeps me going back is the professionalism, the training that they give to their technicians. The care that the technicians give us when they come out to do the service or repairs, which we’ve used them for. We’ve had them install two systems for us and repair all of them all along. The workers seemed to be trained, know what they are doing and do it with minimal effort. They cleaned up very well after themselves, it’s mainly outside. There is nothing to improve on. What stands out is the training of their technicians and the knowledge they have about their work.
Description of Work: It was just for an annual service. I called, they scheduled an appointment and they were here.

It turned out great. They actually had to come back and do another repair, so they were here twice. I thought the price for the tune up was good. I would like if they had detected the problem that they came out for the second time, I would have liked them to catch that the first time. Otherwise they were good. I think we had to call them a couple times to schedule, but it wasn't bad.
