Air McCall

I used them through a big deal on Angie's List. They were honest and fair. They held their end of the bargain. We had a couple of controversial things happen during the process; everything is fine.

Our experience with Air McCall was great. Every person we dealt with from the office staff to the technician who performed the service were very professional. They went the extra mile for us in helping us to replace the compressor on our A/C unit. Other companies I called quoted a much higher price and most were pushing for us to completely replace our A/C system which is only about 6 years old. Air McCall laid out all of our options and the owner even called to give me his thoughts on the best plan.

Service tech was professional and courteous. I appreciated the fact that the company's office called to let me know that he was running a little behind on the service call prior to mine. The technician called me to let me know that he was en route and would arrive within 30 minutes and he did. He did a great job on doing a preventative maintenance health check of my Carrier air handling and outside condenser unit. I would highly recommend Air McCall for air conditioning services.

The work was fine, but the price was way out of line. They charged me $180 for a thermostat I can get for $40 on Amazon. I needed it installed right away to turn an apartment so I paid it. Never again.

The first place we called, we told them that 2 of the lines on our air handler were frozen and they said they would send someone out for a visit, which would cost $86 plus whatever they did to fix the problem (which could cost up to $1300 if we had the system pressure tested and the refrigerant ? up to 12 pounds ? refilled). After that though, we called Air Mccall to compare prices. When we told Johnathan McCann about the frozen lines, he didn?t just set up an appointment; he asked me a few questions and did some troubleshooting. He ended up telling us how to correct the problem ourselves and saved us at least the $86 that the other company would have charged. I am sure the other company would have done a good job, but Air Mccall had the upper hand because they had a technician answering the phone instead of a receptionist. The first place we called probably would have sent someone out ($86) and then they would have done what Air Mccall told us to do (more $$). When I need a complete new AC system, we will definitely call McCall!!

As far as I know the big deal from Air McCall for the Air conditioner was fine. My husband is the one that dealt with them. As far as I know we have no complaints. I was thinking that they did some repair work. We haven't bought a new air conditioner. As far as I know there were no additional charges than the big deal. Something was wrong with one of them, I don't remember what exactly but whoever they sent out was able to determine what was wrong and fix it. They were nice. We were satisfied with the work. The quality was good. I don't have any complaints. I don't remember but as far as I know they got here on time. I would use this provider in the future if need be.

He responded within a day to my request and set the appointment immediately. He checked the electrical components, amps, coils, drain line, refrigerant pressures, vacuumed out the condenser and wiped down the older AC unit. He replaced the filter. I had contacted him before arriving to bring 6 filters for each of our units since we had no replacements. We paid an additional amount for those filters. He also recommended a replacement UV bulb and yearly maintenance contract but did not pressure us to do either. We opted to wait and decide later about both. His service was excellent and we feel more confident that the unit is operating as it should, since we purchased the house 8 months prior to the service. I would definitely recommend this company.

They were good, it did end up costing me a little more.

I'll use this company again but I do think there was some miscommunication when I hired them to come take look at my HVAC system. I recently bought an old house that I am rehabbing to turn into a rental property. The HVAC is very old and in bad shape, but it turns on and does cool a little bit. So I bought one of the coupons on Angie's List for Air McCall. I wanted them to come take a look at the system and tell me if I'd be better off spending the money fixing the old system or replacing it with a new system. This is what I told the lady on the phone when I scheduled the service call. The technician arrived on time and was very professional. I told him exactly what I wanted but he still proceeded to perform a routine service call on a 20 year old system that, as it turns out, was totally roached. The inside coils were nothing but powder and there were a bunch of other issues with the system. After he spent 30 or 45 mins doing a service call on a junk system he told me that if stayed any longer he'd have to charge me more to finish the job. I told him again that what I really wanted to know was if I'd be better off spending the money to fix that system or installing a new system. Finally, he told me that I should install a new system, but then he told me that he'd have to charge me for more time to take the measurements necessary to give me an estimate on the new system install. I ended up paying $120.75 for a service call on a junk system (which he could tell was junk within 5 mins...) and for the time that the technician spent taking measurements to give me an estimate on a new system. I plan on asking Air McCall to give me a credit for the $120 if I have a new system installed. If they won't give me that credit then I'll get other estimates.

I purchased a Big Deal coupon for this company. It was fine. He came out for a maintenance job, every six month job.

They were great, and they did a good job. I bought two relays because I have two units.

Everything turned out well with the service. They actually contacted me to set up the appointment, they arrived on time, and they did the work as promised. Furthermore, the technician was very professional and friendly, and he provided us with the measurements of our air conditioner's filters which was helpful.

We have been with Air McCall for about 8 years, and their service has always been wonderful. The people are so nice and professional. Their prices are always reasonable and the quality of service is great. I always recommend them to my friends.

It went wonderfully. Our 10 year old unit was on its last legs, so I called several A/C contractors for bids. Air McCall was able to install a 15.5 SEER Lennox system for what some companies wanted for a 13 SEER system. Air McCall offered the best balance between price and performance. They were on time, worked quickly, left no mess behind, and there were no surprises. The job cost exactly what they said it would. They were also the only company that recommended replacement of the Freon lines to prevent the old type of refrigerant from contaminating the new compressor and voiding the warranty. My friend in the A/C business back in Texas confirmed this was a necessity. I would definitely recommend Air McCall.

I just moved into a home and wanted to get my AC system serviced and tuned up. AirMcCall was a pleasure to work with. They were prompt in scheduling my appointment and arrived on time. Being a new home owner, this is the first time I have ever had a "servicing" done on an AC unit. I am not sure if I was expecting too much, but I really don't think it was worth the money. I am not sure what was actually really even done. From what I can tell, all the technician did was look at and test things, and tell me things that I should spend more money on with them to have done/adjusted/fixed. I don't think he actually really did any "tuning up" of the system like I was expecting. Oh well. I don't think I will have this kind of "annual service" done again. Bottom line, AirMcCall seems like a nice professional company to work with, but I don't think the tune up service that I paid for through them was very beneficial.

McCall came the day after I called, which was great because we had one outside unit making a "clanging" sound which was awful. They were on time while I was stuck at the Dr's office. They started servicing the outside units until I returned home. They found a bad board, which was making the clanging noise because it was trying to switch over to heat, but couldn't so it kept banging. They didn't have this particular part on their truck so they returned the same day and installed it. We had a very cold night that night and it worked great with no clanging noises! :)

Begining from the office staff (Daphne and Leslie Marie), to the service crew (Courtney and Jose), they were so helpfull in resolving the repair to our a/c unit. They came the same day I called, called the manufacturer to check if the coil was still under contract and repaired the coil in a timely and professional manner. I could not be any more pleased with their commintment and service to us!!

Very well, on time and professional. I had a loose screw in the home unit, it was repaired as part of the service.

Replaced fan motor of the compressor unit outside. The technician showed me the old motor. The bearing had sized up and was leaking grease. Him showing me the old part settled my mind that this was a legitimate repair and I appreciated that. It all went rather quickly. It's been about 2 months now, so far so good. The $550.00 price includes the coupon from Angie's list.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It turned out okay. I spent about $500 including the purchase of the Big Deal. It turned out pretty well. Nothing in particular stands out.

My 10 year old ac unit went out and it would have cost almost as much to repair as to replace. I decided to get a new once. I had a service contract with a different company that was supposed to give me a discount. That company quoted me $5100 for a new unit. I called McCall. The estimator was out next morning and quoted me $4400 for the same unit. I agreed. They came out the next morning and did the installation. They were quick, polite and professional. I will use them for all my ac needs.

AirMcCall sent someone out promptly and they determined that it was the motor that needed to be replaced. The cost would have been 750 but AMcCall checked their records and determined that we were within one month of warranty. They contact the manufacturer and were able to get the motor for free. We just paid the labor to install it. The motor was ordered and installed the next morning.

Service Manager showed up when scheduled to give estimate & it was the best price of 3 local companies. Received phone call when workers were delayed & they showed up within an hour of originally scheduled time. Took two workers 12 hours to remove old system & install new system. It could have been done more quickly if they had not been sending/receiving phone calls & text messages the entire time. Same workers cleaned the air ducts the next day in a timely manner as the result of my speaking to the service manager. Had to request they clean up the outside area where they had been working & pick-up all tools & cigarette butts
