If very nice guy. Polite, puntual. And explained things to me so I understand what he was doing to my computer. I have my LIFE on my LAP TOP so I'm WEIRD about LETTING PEOPLE repair it. So this guy knows what he is doing. If you're looking to hire a computer repair person that does honest work for an honest wage CALL HIM !!! He gets booked quickly and you may have to wait but ITS WELL WORTH THE WAIT !! He is now my permanent computer guy now ! My computer RUNS SO FAST NOW!! Thanks TOM !!!! :-)

I first contacted him after seeing him on Angie's List and I have used his services about three times now. He comes to his clients to complete the repairs. Tom is honest and knowledgeable He really seems to know what he is doing.

We got off to rocky start on intial phone call but Tom was on time did work in a very professional way and has made system great to work with.Found Tom to be a great guy.

Tom asked me just a couple of quick questions and immediately and over the phone was able to deduce exactly what was wrong. He said based on the age of our computer, the battery on our motherboard was dead. When our power goes out our calendar resets to the date it was first turned on- 7 years ago. Therefore every website we went to showed it was not certified. A simple, cheap fix we could do on our own. A.) He clearly knows his stuff inside and out and B.) Isn't greedy enough to come and charge for a visit for something so simple. You don't see that every day!!

Tom responded quickly to my emai cries for help. He told me several things that could be causing my pop-ups and frozen keyboard. I was able to fix my computer with his guidance, and he didn't charge me anything for his knowledge. Thank you for your quick response and patience. I am very happy that I chose Tom from Angie?s List. I started by asking him a question via email and he quickly answered. We made an appointment for him to come to my home and check out my computer. When he arrived on time, I was pleasantly surprised, since that has not been the case with most service providers. During the time he was there, he not only improved my twelve year old computer?s response time and added a few things to help it along, but he explained things in terms that I could understand. He is professional, personable, and patient. He is very knowledgeable, but not at all intimidating and he freely shares information. He seems to enjoy teaching people about computers. From here on, he will be my ?go to guy? for any computer issues I have.

Everything went great. Tom had a coupon when we called him to request he order us a refurbished Dell PC. The 25% coupon really helped lower the cost. He ordered it, and later we set an appointment for the installation. He arrived promptly at 2:00, and within 2.5 hours, everything was transferred from our old PC to our new one, all programs & antivirus systems were checked out, and he left us with big smiles on our faces! We at last had a great, fast computer with a 500 GB hard drive! He was very thorough and explained to us in laymen's terms everything we needed to know. We will continue to use Tom's services whenever we need a computer update or repair. He is a very congenial person, and we enjoy having him in our home... Not a "n***" but a real person who understands real people... All in all, a great experience!

Tom was extremely informative. He provide all kinds of information regarding my laptop. I have a new computer and yet it was not functioning correctly. He found that there was a lot of 'garbage' clogging up with the works! Tom helped me get me system function the way it was supposed to. Plus he provided additional free software that will help us keep our systems clean. I would highly recommend him.

Tom advised windows 7 owners experienced problems with internet explorer 11,but he thought I had 10 unless I had updated it. I checked and my computer had only explorer 10. He suggested I await the new provider and see if matters improved, otherwise call back and schedule an appointment. The issue went away with the new provider's internet speed of 10.

My appointment was scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Mr. Hernden (Tom) arrived at 10:00 A.M. I was already impressed. When did service providers start arriving on time for appointments? After a simple introduction between my husband, myself and Tom he got right to work. He worked on our laptop for approximately two hours updating, changing, deleting, installing etc. During that time, he had us engaged in what he was doing. It was as if I were sitting in a computer class with a very knowledge professor. At times, he would explain the most basic technology facts relating to computers to us, and then build on those facts in order to get the more difficult aspects of computer technology across to us. Always explaining in a simple and very understandable way what he needed to do to get our laptop running at peak performance. This was not just an appointment to get our laptop serviced, it was also time well spent with a very knowledgeable service provider who took the time to be totally professional and connect with his clients by involving them in the whole process. If only every business operated with this standard of work ethics, we could change the world. Let's all spread the word. Business owners big and small listen up! This is the new STANDARD of business ethics we, as consumers, want and demand.

He returned our call...NONE of the other two companies we asked for help did so.....but it turns out they don't do what we need to have done. He did try to help a bit in the phone call...

It was an excellent experience from the initial phone call which was returned promptly. Tom showed up right on time for the appointment and spent 2 hrs. explaining exactly what he was doing to my PC. He went so far as to return to my home later that evening to fix a glitch that had occurred and spent another hour making sure all was ok. I was totally satisfied with his work, and would recommend him highly.

I contacted Tom based on his reviews and his A+ rating is rightly deserved. My Iomega external hard drive had suddenly stopped working. It went from storing the only copies of pictures of my children as toddlers to being nothing better than a paperweight. I took the hard drive to Staples for repair but was told that there was nothing they could do. Many months passed and then I found Tom on Angies List. I sent him a short email, explaining my problem and asking if it was something he could look at. Not only did he write me back right away, he took the time to write me a lengthy reply in which he explained what was likely wrong with it! I met up with him to give him the drive. He spent even more time with me, discussing other software storage options I might want to consider so I wouldn't put all my stored memories in one place. He didn't promise he'd be able to fix up but said he'd see what he could do. A few days later, Tom called to let me know my drive was fixed. Tom did in a few days what the people in Staples Tech Support could not do in a week. I can't recommend him highly enough.

He did a tremendous job. His rate was very reasonable. This is the second time I have used his service and I was extremely pleased both times. He really went out of his way to be responsive to my needs. Even after the service was done he followed quickly with any issues I had.

Mr Hernden is very patient about his explanations and makes certain I understand what is going on when the computer is not functioning well. This time we even tried some counseling over the phone to trouble shoot first. This is the only computer repair service we will have in our home. Privacy information these days is so critical.

This is the second time I have used CPR-Computer Problem Resolutions and after just a few minutes of conversation with Tom he knew exactly what my computer issue was going to be. And sure enough, he was spot-on. An apparent upgrade to WINDOWS had somehow "blocked" my efforts in trying to download my needed computer software upgrade. Tom took the necessary steps to fix this problem and also instructed me on a Norton workaround issue I was also having when I tried to install my upgrade. Bottom line, I had my needed software upgrade up and running within a half-hour. The service was quick, concise, and informative. I'm not the brightest bulb when it comes to computers and props to Tom as he knows how to talk "computer" on a level I can understand. I was also floored (in a good way) when he stated that my charge would only be $40. GREAT value for a home service call. I remember many moons ago I had once used a big box store to service my computer at home and the charge was astronomical. Never again. Obviously anyone that has used CPR doesn't need to be sold on Tom. But if you are perusing Angie's List for computer help you need to look no further then CPR. I guarantee you'll be happy with the service. Also, thanks to Angie's List for providing the means to locate good, reputable businesses like CPR.

Tom removed the malware from my computer and checked the whole system over. He explained what had happened and some tips on how to avoid malware in the future. He also installed a backup drive for me. I was very happy to have my computer fixed without losing any of my data! He gave me a discount for being an Angie's List member. I would recommend him to anyone who needs help with a computer problem.

He asked me a few questions about my present system and asked to take a look at it. It happened that he was in my neighborhood and stopped by an hour later and spent four hours going over my system. He not only brought my computer back to life, but spent much time advising me on how to avoid making wrong moves, how to spot an advertisement from a legitimate request and how to be more proactive when protecting myself from identity theft. I have been working with Tom Hernden as my computer consultant for my research lab for several years. He has always taken a personal interest in making sure that my computers in my research lab are up to date and are working smoothly. Previously, after a major meltdown, he set me up with a laptop that was to minimize any future problems. It had two solid state drives: one to store my data and documents, and the other had the operating system programs. Solid state drives were used as they are less likely to develop major problems. Unfortunately, the best laid plains of mice and men...well...you get the gist... one of the SSD did malfunction, and I had a major meeting coming up and I really needed my computer to accomplish my presentation goals. Well, after Tom reprimanded me for not calling him sooner (on a saturday night ? !) he went to work on the computer, replacing the two solid state drives with a large (but somewhat slower) disk drive so that I could at least do my work. When this , too, went down --- e.g., the dreaded blue screen of death (much to our chagrin) Tom even told me stop hyperventilating and he would take care of the problem...(somehow -- don't ask -- there was a change in one of the settings)....which he did in short order. So, what can I say? ...Tom is my hero !... he will go to extremes to make sure that your computer is working at it's optimum level...and will do what he can to accommodate to the time constraints to solve your computer problem and lower your blood pressure. I don't know what more a customer could ask for. I would use him again in a heartbeat....(although you kinda wish you didn't need him because it means you have a problem that needs fixing...although he's great to just come over and debug your computers and make sure that everything is up to date and running smoothly.)...and -- as an aside -- his prices are really very fair...he does not overcharge. Tom also advised me not to upgrade to Windows 8 and explained why. He educated me on malware and registry corruption. He told me about a number of free tools for malware and registry cleanup. We also discussed the ups and downs of Windows automatic updates and how to change various options. Altogether I learned a lot. His knowledge is impressive. I know who I am going to call the next time I have a PC problem. I would advise anyone to call Tom.

We have used Tom's services in the past - always been completely satisfied and this time was no different. Our old laptop was marginally serviceable and after Tom diagnosed the problems we determined we needed a new computer . Tom did the research, selected a comparable laptop with all of the features we wanted and contacted his sources to get a coupon to keep the price down. After delivery to Tom, he took our old computer, determined that the fastest/smartest approach was to use our backups and load the new computer. We lost NOTHING in the transition, have a new, very nice laptop that does everything we want. The price was affordable, Tom went well out of his way to ensure we had the new computer in a couple of days. The friendly, hands ON approach and going well beyond the norm is what we have come to expect and GREATLY appreciate from Tom. He not only is professional and an expert in his trade, but ensures that what is needed is done properly, works with NO flaws and he is always available should something strange pop up. Tom was very professional and I was very impressed with him from the moment he talked to me on the telephone... AND pleasantly surprised after having had several others work on my computer in the past. He was exactly on time, didn't answer his phone when it rang while he was working (he said he was on my time and would return the other call ASAP...very impressive)... He addressed all the issues when I presented them to him. He was a good listener and didn't intimidate me at all for being a bit cyberchallenged. He was sensitive to my desire to keep certain things on my computer that he would have chosen to remove (in order to speed it up a bit more)... In other words, he aimed to do the very best job he could and still keep my personal preferences in mind.
