 + -1 moreIt went great! Windows would not start properly and system restore no longer worked. I thought all my files were lost but Tom was able to extract the data, reload the new operating system and all my files and photos were restored. My computer now works fine and Tom was very reasonable price-wise, given all the time it took. Most important, I trust him with my information. Would not feel comfortable with anyone else.

 + -1 moreTom provided EXCELLENT service. The memory module was installed quickly and successfully. Tom also tuned up my HP 250 and my HP Envy computers. He was very communicative, skillful,courteous and explained his procedures thoroughly. He informed me about information on both computers of which I was unaware and suggested several applications to perform (e.g. send a Windows backup of my hard drives to my Seagate drives on a scheduled basis for each computer). I appreciated ALL the work he performed and his knowledge and professionalism. I definitely will use his services in the future, if needed.  + -1 moreOver the past several years I've taken about ten computers to Tom for repair, no exaggeration. He's been able to repair and/or save the information from every single computer. Best Buy once quoted me $2,000 to save the info from one of my computers and Tom did it for $200. That is why he's earned the name "Docta Tom" with me because he is THE BEST when it comes to everything computer- related. I won't take my computers to anyone else and gladly make the near 5 hour round trip to drop them off with Tom, his skill and fair prices definitely makes it worth the drive!

 + -1 moreTom can to my house, looked at the laptop, explained the potential costs and recommended that the laptop was to old to invest the amount needed to fix it and that I purchase a new one. He recommended systems that he believed would meet my needs (he does not sell any laptops) and said he would help me set up the new one, if I need his help. I will definitely use him when I get the new laptop!

 + -1 moreI contacted Tom at CPR and he got back to me right away. Although separated by some three hundred miles, Tom was able to expertly analyze my problem and recommend a fix. He took over and straightened out my issues and got me back in business quickly. He saved me the expense of having to buy a new computer with his repair. I am now able to use the computer to conduct my business and the cost was minimal. I have used others in the past, but was less than satisfied with the results. I would recommend Tom and CPR to anyone needing computer repairs.
Description of Work: As a Realtor, I need to be able to contact my customers as well as well as navigate the web for different services. After the recent hurricane, (Irma) I found that one of my computers was not working and I was unable to use it for my business needs. Lucky for me, I had found Tom at CPR just a bit prior to the storm. After the storm, when I realized that I had issues and needed a computer professional-- I reached out to Tom.

Best part was all the hints and instructions he gave me to protect my computer and keep it running better and lasting longer. He worked on my computer constantly fort 2 l/1 hours.

So nice to have a professional remember you after two years and take the time to help without making a service call. I would highly recommend Tom for any computer issues you might be having with your PC (I don't think he works on Macs),
Description of Work: I had Tom do some work for me (replacing the hard drive on my computer) a few years ago and he was excellent. Saved my data from a drive that was on the verge of crashing and reloading everything to the new drive and taking a lot of care to set everything back exactly as I had it. I was impressed and very grateful. At this time I had some questions about what to do with some quirks that were happening and needed some advice about the RansomWare issue going around.

 + 0 moreGREAT- EXCELLENT. Tom with CPR came to my home and removed the spyware and cleaned up all the problems the scammers created. Now about a month later, another scammer blocked my computer with a "Microsoft" problem that had been on the News regarding scammers hacking computers and to call the number they displayed. Instead of calling the # provided I called CPR and Tom walked me thru this new scam. I am so thankful Tom answered and helped me out again because I know enough about computers to be dangerous & I probably would have fallen for another scam. I highly recommend CPR for any computer problems you may have! Tom explains what he is doing and instructs & teaches you on what to beware of.
Description of Work: I fell for a computer scam and Tom with CPR saved me & my computer. I had rec'd a pop-up on my screen stating that since I was running Windows 7 I needed to call to renew my Agreement in order to keep using it on my computer. I thought it was legit since they knew I was still using Windows 7. When I called the number on my screen I was naive enough to allow them to connect to my computer. When I did that, they installed spyware and could tell whenever I was on my computer. They also wanted $300 to fix the issues that THEY created. They kept calling me every time I turned on my computer and told me my computer was about to crash unless I paid $300 for them to fix it. I couldn't figure out how they knew each time I was on my computer, it was because of the spyware they had installed!

Because of his expertise, we were able to take care of the issue and got my computer back up and running in no time. He was great to work with and very knowledgeable.  + -1 moreTom arrived quickly and diagnosed the problem: dead battery inside the tower. He got that desktop running again and also ran some diagnostics on another windows desktop of mine which has a hard drive that needs replacing soon. He recommended a more robust way of data backup than I now use, which we discussed at length, then made plans for a follow up visit to get that system installed. Tom is a genius and helps keep my older computers running like new. He always goes above and beyond for his customers.
