CPR - Computer Problem Resolutions

Tom came and spent some time at the house working on unit. Unable to solve the problem here, he took the tower with him to work on at the shop over the weekend. He returned on Monday with the problems solved and also did some updates. That was two weeks ago. Yesterday I could not get the thing to sign on.I called Tom and he came out again this AM. Within 2 minutes he solved the problem. I would not call anyone else to work on our computer. After having MAJOR difficulty with contractors since moving to Florida, Tom is a ray of hope. Pleasant, reliable, trustworhty, and reasonable. He know his stuff.

Lifesaver! I had a HDD in my tower PC that started to go bad, couldn't get it to boot, and realized I was about to lose everything - family photos, quickbook files, email history, etc. Tom took the drive, managed to use his tools and skills to get ALL the files recovered and back to me. Even went out and bought the backup external drive himself to put them on. Came to the house to pick up and deliver - Great Service!

I had several viruses on my computer Tom removed them all . He also cleaned out a lot of junk that was slowing down my computer. He installed a few programs that made it easier to navigate. Then he also checked and cleaned up my wife's computer. Tom will explain anything you don't understand . I have used Tom before and would highly recommend him.

Tom has been helping us for years now and will always be the first person we call. We have had him fix issues with our computers to having him order us new computers. Not only does he have a vast knowledge of his profession but he knows/remembers what our needs are and what we like in our systems. Tom will always be first on our list...call him if you need any type of computer repair or any other work done to your computer.

I have used Tom's services since he first began his business. I would not use anyone else ever. Tom is the complete professional. When there is a difficult problem, he is an outstanding diagnostician & won't quit until the problem is resolved. He is also thorough, often going beyond why he was needed in the first place. These days, it's not easy to find a competent computer tech who is honest about what can & cannot be done. Tom is that person, a competent honest professional whose value to me over the years cannot be overstated.

Chalk up another "A" grade for CPR. This is the 4th time I've used Tom's service and he never disappoints. This visit involved getting my brand new laptop AND myself "up to speed" with the latest in the technology world after my 5-year old laptop bit the dust. Since Tom knows how to talk in a language understood by us computer-challenged users, it was a seamless and educational 2-hour session. To cut to the chase, Tom fielded a barrage of requests/questions by me and then proceeded to set up my laptop exactly to my comfort level specifications. I couldn't have been happier with the results. Obviously I highly recommend his business and will be a repeat customer, again.

All the needed projects were completed in a 30 minute visit.

We found Tom Hernden initially online at Angies list. After seeing the incredible reviews on his work and knowledge, we decided to give him a try. Best decision we have made. He is knowledgeable, friendly and willing to share as much knowledge as he has about what to 'do' and what 'not to do' Unlike most computer techs, he is very willing to share his vast knowledge on systems and make recommendations. All in a non tech, easy to understand manner. His prices are very reasonable. He is prompt and has always been available. Would highly recommend him to both individuals needing help in their homes, or business owners needing some IT support.

Repaired the problem within a few days. I am not very savey when it comes to computers and always call Tom when I have a problem.His fees are fair and I am very happy with him.

He wrote back right away and told me to try a few things. The things he told me to try worked. He has helped us in the past with problems and giving us suggestions on a new computer. Anything we need, he is willing to help. If it is something minor and he can help over the phone he does not even charge us.

He called me first to make an appt. , he came on time, do exactly what I was expecting.

He checked out my laptop and couldn't find any viruses. However, he did make some changes to my computer that increased the speed and functionality of the computer. He removed some items that are automatically installed via other programs, even if I didn't want them. He verified the health of my hard drive via a problem and changed the start up menu. He had been here previously and because of some hardware issues, I had had to return my laptop to the vendor. As a result, some the programs that he previously installed had been removed. He restored those functions. Tom is very professional and knowledgeable. He will explain exactly what he is doing and why these updates are needed. He also explained why some 'forced' updates shouldn't be done when the vendor wants to install them. If anyone has any issues with their computer I would highly recommend Tom. He is a pleasure to work with. If I had used someone else like the Geek Squad the price would have been at least double what he charged. Plus, the fact that he does it here in my home I can see exactly what he is doing.

Great service. Tom took the time to discuss the problems and options with me and made sure I had a full understanding of what was going to happen and what the repairs would cost. Excellent!

I called yesterday and Tom was here today. Initially we thought it could have been a hard drive problem from the way it was behaving but after doing a diagnostic Tom found it was a problem with how the computer was reading my printer at startup. It was fixed within 15 minutes. I could not have been more pleased. I will definitely use Tom's service for any future computer problem.

Very well. Computer is back up and running, and very happy to get a second chance to back up my photos.

Tom was excellent. I called thinking I had a Video Card problem (because a diagnostic message said so) and when I described the symptoms, Tom immediately said he thought my hard drive might be going. He instructed me to turn off the computer immediately to save any more wear and tear on the drive so he could save my data. He came out to my house within two days, and sure enough, it was the hard drive. He took my computer and had the hard drive replaced and all my data transferred within three or four days (I had a lot of data). Tom took time to explain what he was doing, what was going on with the machine, what my alternatives were, and made his professional recommendation. Most importantly, he took a lot of time transferring my data to the new drive so that it was organized in exactly the way that it was on the old drive. And when he brought the computer back, he made sure that the printer was hooked up and working, that my email was re-connected and that my laptop was communicating with the desktop. He patiently answered all my questions and even helped straighten out the tangle of wires under my desk. Tom is extremely knowledgeable, very professional, and his prices are more than fair (compared with a previous Computer Repair I had a few years ago). I can't thank him enough and I highly recommend his services.

Because Tom had been to our house about 3 times and he knew us, he walked me through the process to restore the adaptor. After a 5 minute phone call, I was up and running. Tom always provides professional and friendly assistance. He is extremely knowledgeable and I can trust him and what he tell us to do. Both my husband and I have a lot of experience with computers and yet Tom as given us information that was new to us. We have recommended him to several people and everyone was extremely satisfied with the service he provided. If anyone is having computer issues, Tom is the person to call!

He had a LOT to do. As I've said, MIT of New Tampa kept my computer for several days. I had paid $200 for a repair policy with them that covers me for a year for up to 3 computers. So much for that. I gave them the hard drive from the previous computer, which had everything up to 2 months ago, the hard drive from the new 2 month old Dell computer that had just crashed, and my external hard drive, a Seagate. Meanwhile, because it was still under warrenty, Dell mailed me a new hard drive and when it came, MIT installed that. (Not difficult, you can do it yourself, but they did do that.) MIT told me NEITHER hard drive could give up any information which surprised me, because two months before, THEY had transferred the files and photos from the old hard drive to the new computer and told me to keep the old hard drive "just in case" so it was odd that suddenly it did not work. Worst of all for my experience with MIT, they LOST my external hard drive, my back up, and then acted like they had amnesia when asked about it. They did have the box...(?!) but no external hard drive and refused to even look for it. So poor Tom Herndon did not have much to work with, but he left me with my computer, which was now working b/c MIT had installed the new hard drive (hard drive #3) that had just arrived from Dell, and he took both the new, 2 month old hard drive and the old hard drive that went up to 2 months prior when the computers were exchanged. Tom was successful in capturing and saving the information from the old hard drive, which MIT had said was "fried". Tom could not save the info from the 2 month old hard drive b/c it really was ruined. So at least all my documents up to 2 months ago were saved. He came and installed all the files on my new hard drive, reorganized things for easier use, made my windows 8 look and act like windows 7 without actually changing it to windows 7 (I personally love the change) and gave me tutorial on how to use everything. He spent two hours with me: One hour when picking up the hard drives, one hour installing the files and tutoring me on the new set up, and who knows how much time trying to get the information from both hard drives. The cost was slightly less than $100, and he came to the house. I couldn't recommend him more: great guy, knowledgeable, easy to work with and his price is about half of what I had expected. A+

We have been using Tom for so long he has become part of our family. Not only does he help with any repair issues but also takes the time to help teach us computer illiterate people on how to operate the computer. I can't tell you how many times Tom has come to the house and helped us complete tasks that most people already know how to do but each time he does it with patience and a smile. Now after so many many years of having to deal with Vista we decided to make the plunge and invest in a new computer and laptop. Tom emailed us suggestions as to what we may be interested in (since he has come to know what our needs our) so we could research them beforehand. He then took the time to come over to the house and held our hands while we placed our order for a computer, laptop, monitor and new wireless keyboard. Since we were leaving on vacation he was kind enough to let us ship all the new items to him so not only would they be safe but he could do his thing before we arrived back into town. Unfortunately upon our return we were both sick so he had to wait until we could finally meet and transfer all the data that needed to be done. Then again something unexpected happened in the morning and he had to adjust his schedule once more for us. Finally we were able to get together and start the process. All the new equipment was wonderful. Even though the process was extremely long we all kept a sense of humor and kept moving the process along. There was so much that had to be done that we thought the poor man was going to have to stay over for the night. By the time he left the sun had already set but he still had great patience and a smile on his face. In addition to everything he help set up he was kind enough to pick up a card reader for us since he knew what to look for. I can't say enough for how Tom goes beyond expectations when he is called upon. We will always use Tom for any computer issues. I only have two regrets on the entire process. One, I don't think he charged us enough - yes, I said that and two, I wasn't able to fix him dinner. Thanks again Tom.
