CPR - Computer Problem Resolutions

In this day and age it seems more and more difficult to find quality work. Tom Hernden is a standout. Friendly, courteous and a no nonsense kind of a guy. I wasn't looking for a best friend just someone who could fix the problem i had with my computer. My dad used to say that you could tell a confident and sucessful man by his handshake. Thank's Tom!!! I managed to resolve the problem, however Tom was generous in ofering ideas and things to consider ahead of him visiting. Any future issues I will contact this provider first without hesitation.

My computer was not working properly . After seeing the high ratings that Tom (CPR) has in Angie 's List I decided to give him a call. What a surprise! He promptly returned my call and without any hesitation he explained to us the problems we were confronting with the computer and although he was completely booked for the week , he manages to pick up the computer to fix it. Today we get the computer back and it works perfectly. Tom's professionalism is admirable, he takes his time to patiently answer all the questions you might have. I will definitely use his services him again.

I had used Tom before and always had a great service. Last month my external drive stopped working, and I panicked because I had saved A LOT of files and pictures on it. I called the maker - WD - and they basically said there was nothing they could do as it was no longer under warranty, but told me to go on their website and contact their suggested companies for data recovery. I called a couple of them and the quote was not good - between $1,500 and $3,500!! truth to be told, one of the persons I talked to was very honest and said that it COULD have been a short circuit in the drive caused by a power surge - if that was the case, the memory would still be intact and I didn't need a data recovery service. So I thought about Tom - if this was the problem, Tom maybe could fix it or at least let me know where to go! I trust his judgment and I know he would have referred me to the right person without ripping me off. But there was no need for that - Tom was able to recover all my data because it was, in fact, a problem of the internal circuits and I ended up saving thousands of dollars. Also Tom made it very easy to deliver the old hard drive and the new one - he doesn't live near me but with a little bit of flexibility we were able to arrange the deliveries when he was in my area so I didn't need to drive anywhere. Tom is very knowledgeable and really helped us navigate through our problems that we were experiencing. First, he was supportive of our needs and he walked us through the entire process with great patience. He provided us with a tutorial of the Windows Eight system and we decided that we needed something we were more familiar with and could easily use. He was very patient as he helped us identify our requirements and then determine if the new laptop was useful for us. We decided that the computer was not what we needed and we should return the computer to Best Buy. Tom then ordered a Dell with Windows Seven for us, set it up for our use and we are now very satisfied with the final outcome. We now have a computer that we can use and a repairman whose services we will definitely utilize if needed. His expert services were well worth the time and money that we spent on computer issues. We would recommend him to anyone in need of computer technical services in the Tampa Bay area.

Tom was successful in removing malware from my computer. While he doing that he also cleaned up my system and helped it to run faster. He arived on time, took my computer back to his shop, was prompt in fixing the problem, and delivered the computer the next business day. You can tell he really enjoys his work and gets a kick out of helping people solve these frustrating issues. Will continue to use him as future needs arise.

I was fortunate enough to find Tom on Angie's list shortly after he began his business. I have used him many times over the last few years and have never been disappointed with his service. I use Angie's list for everything I need done in my home and have NEVER seen one provider with all A's. Tom has accomplished just that. He has never had a disgruntled customer and once you use him, you will see why. As a teacher, I appreciate someone who instructs me in a way that I understand and who does it with a great deal of patience. He answers all my questions in a "NON-TECHY" way. I have learned so much from Tom and he keeps my compute in great shape. Tom told me he could probably fix my computer over the phone. I knew he would not charge me for that, but someone with his knowledge should not give his services away for free and I felt like I needed him to show me a few things about my computer that I did not understand. Tom also helped me with my ipad. I recommend Tom highly and would NEVER use anyone else to work on my computer. Use him. You will never be disappointed. I want to give him the highest rating possible

No need to write much more then has already been said in the other reviews. They are accurate. Was very pleased with Tom's service and will use him again if another computer problem arises.

I have using Tom's services for many years. Over these years, he has remained the consummate professional and today was no exception. Late this morning, I found that I could not get Internet access no matter what I attempted to do. I called Tom and he called back within an hour. Fortunately, for me, he was able to make his house call this afternoon. This was not an easy problem to solve but Tom, ever the excellent problem solver, finally found the source of the problem. Thank you, Tom! I am so glad that he you are such a great "fixer."

Tom, responded to my EM contact and after offering to pay him for an onsite visit, he worked with me over the phone to quickly solve the problem within 15 minutes. Very professional and patient. No charge...would use him again in a heartbeat!

I had been having problems with my home office desktop computer which I use for work and personal use. Sometimes it wouldn't start; sometimes it would start and would then freeze up; I would have to force it off and then it wouldn't restart. The behavior was unpredictable. I had another computer technician look at the computer and over the course of three visits, he replaced the video card and made some adjustments to Windows. After each visit, the computer would work for a short time and then would resume the same behavior. I had spent $135 and still had a non-functioning computer. I found Tom of CPR on Angie's list and based on the good reviews, gave him a call. He came to my house and after working on the computer for a bit, said he thought the problem was a bad hard drive. He took the tower back to his shop, where he was going to replace the hard drive and reinstall all of my programs. Tom called me after a few days to tell me that he had replaced the hard drive and installed programs and the computer worked fine until suddenly, it wouldn't start for him. After some investigating, he said the problem had to be the processor or the motherboard and the hard drive was probably okay. Tom told me my options; I could replace the motherboard and processor or I could get a new computer, which would not cost much more. I decided to do without a desktop computer and continue to use my laptop instead, as I had been doing for a few months and just transfer the data from the desktop computer to an external hard drive so I could access it from my laptop. Tom reinstalled my old hard drive into my desktop computer, brought it back to my house and then transferred the data to an external hard drive I had purchased. He also set up a new email account in my Outlook program. I feel that Tom's pricing was very fair. He did not charge me for all of the time he spent installing a new hard drive and installing programs on it because that turned out not to be the solution. He also answered some questions for me via email and did not charge extra for that. Tom educated me as to what he was doing as he worked. All in all, it is apparent to me that Tom is very competent, trustworthy and fair and that is a breath of fresh air. I will use him again when I need more computer help.

Tom arrived right on time and did exactly what he said he would do, the machine went from not working at all to working better than it did 3 years ago when we bought it. We could be happier with his services. Even better, he explained the process to us as he went and allowed us to make additional decisions in regard to the additional improvements he could make to operating speed. Our assessment is that he is now our computer man, we will call him with all our future computer repair problems.

Tom was great! He is extremely knowledgeable and sincerely interested in teaching his clients. He was willing to troubleshoot on the phone and then provided detailed email responses to all my follow-up questions. I really appreciated that he could perform the data transfer in my home. The personalized service is amazing!! Tom really knows his stuff and wants to share. He never talked down to me even when explaining some of the more complicated issues that I didn't follow easily. He respects his clients and wants them to understand what he is doing and why. Tom gave me lots of practical advice (in layman's terms) while we waited for the data transfer to be completed. I will use him again if I have any computer problems and will strongly recommend him to anyone who needs computer service.

After finding Tom (CPR) on Angies List we decided to give him a try. After a few e-mails back and forth, a day and time was established. To start with he was on time.( Being fairly new to Florida we are finding that this is not the norm.) Tom was friendly and easy to converse with. He started with cleaning out a lot of "junk" on our computer. Spent time explaining what he was doing and why. Gave us many tips as to how we could avoid problems in the future. Am extremely pleased with our choice.

It is a pleasure to have Tom in our home. He has helped us on previous occasions with our aging desktop but today it was my laptop that needed repair. The laptop had become infected with some type of malicious program and I was concerned it would effect the system hard drive. I emailed him on Wednesday evening, he contacted us back promptly on Thursday and set up an appointment for Friday. Now this is over a holiday weekend and several days before we leave for an international trip, that I'll need to have my laptop with me. So time was important. Tom is very thorough, knowledgeable and explains all that he does on the system. I'm extremely satisfied and comfortable recommending him to anyone.

Some time ago, Tom had come to my home to set up a new computer and transfer all programs and data to it. The job took several hours. He was thorough, knowledgeable, and professional. He added some little extra touches that made my use more enjoyable and productive. Since then, I have had, on rare occasions, reason to communicate with him on some little problem. He has taken a few minutes to point me in the right direction.

I went with a different service provider due to AOL blocking CPR-Computer Problem Resolutions' initial response and my desire to gt teh issues resolved.

I engaged CPR to assist me with both the hardware and software of a recently purchased computer. After explaining the current system, which he was familiar with, that I was using and my requirements Mr Hearnden advised what he would do, and promptly went to work. Since I am an admitted novice, never having used Windows programs in the past I was completely at a loss where to begin. He first reconfigured the computer displays making it a bit similar to what I was familiar with on my old computer. Throughout the process he demonstrated his extensive knowledge of Windows programs, and installed devices to facilitate navigating thru the various applications available on the computer. He was quite thorough and detailed in explaining everything he did, and then walked me through the process numerous times till I mastered the techniques. Mr Hearnden patiently spent 5 hours going over all the details to ensure the subject matter was clearly understood, and could be performed without his assistance. It was indeed a pleasure getting this assistance from Mr Hearnden, and without his instruction I would not have been able to maintain the large volume of data I must deal with on a daily basis I would recommend CPR and Mr Hearnden to anyone who needs computer assistance at any level.
