Description of Work: The silencing package was great at first but it did not last. Tried to sell me an overhaul package with springs for $500-$600 on the second visit. I wanted a second opinion so I paid another repair service out of Angie's network and my "springs" we're just fine. Needed a $45 part and a $75 service call and saved me from a costly "overhaul" i did not need! Great service though and professional.

Description of Work: Replaced springs, cleaned and lubricated rollers, installed key pad, two remotes.

Description of Work: The technician came out as requested to give our garage door a tune up (we have a large double car garage). Since we had only moved here less than a year when he came out, we knew from the noise the door made that it needed a tune-up, but he also pointed out that the spring was defective and causing the door to be unbalanced, which affected the noise and function of the door. He showed me the problem and told me what the difference would be if he installed a new spring. I agreed, and he had it done in less than an hour. He also noted that our door was a very good door and would withstand very strong hurricane winds, and that the wheels and joints were in good shape. | Once he installed the new spring and had properly lubricated the joints and other moving parts, the door did indeed operate more smoothly and quietly, and the place where water was coming in under the door when it rained hard was no longer vulnerable to the water coming in. | I then asked him about our garage door opener which was quite old (but still working well), and which had only analog remote control devices which were inoperative and not replaceable since no one was making them or even had parts. He then got out some digital remotes and was able to program the opener to respond to the digital remotes. Although this added to the cost of the services, it was only a minor part of the cost since the spring was more expensive that I had anticipated (I'd actually replaced springs on our manual opening door in our prior home), since the job has been done, we are very pleased with the work done and the quality of the spring and remotes. | We would definitely call upon Precision Garage Door Service again if needed (in fact, after about a month, it appeared that one of the remotes was disfunctioning, and when we called them and they sent out the same service man, he was able to re-program it and it has worked well since - and the service call was free!) | You can't go wrong if you call them for work you might need, or even to install a new door.
