Description of Work: There are two things I called Precision Overhead Garage Door Services for. The first item is my garage door was damaged in the hurricane and without power has to be opened and closed manually and there was a couple of issues doing this. So that needed to be looked at. The second item is that I needed an estimate for a new garage door and possible opener and tracks. I was asked if I had power in the garage and I said no. She said that without power they can not come out. I understand how possibly power might be needed to use the garage door opener, but to actually look at the door and see what needed to be done to fix it temporarily I did not. But I thought, ok. So I asked if they could at least come out and give me an estimate on how much it would be to replace the door and possibly the opener and tracks, I was told they couldn't even do that without power in the garage. I asked why, was told it was their policy and that when power was back in the garage I could call back and schedule a time for them to come give me an estimate. That I could not believe. I told her that was a silly policy and if that was the case then goodbye. I will not be calling back to purchase from Precision Garage Door Service at any time since they apparently don't want my business anyway.

 + -1 moreReplaced a stripped gear, but also told me that everything else was wrong with the door and that it all pretty much needed replacing. Would not guarantee the gear replacement. When the gear failed 3 weeks later, I called a different company, who told me that whoever had done the previous installation (Precision) had not bothered to grease the gear, which was why it failed so fast. Also, in less than a minute, the new company tightened the springs in the door and told me that everything was fine and nothing else needed replacing. Two months later, the door is still working perfectly. I really got the feeling that Precision "set up" the door to fail again so that I would come rushing back and pay them hundreds of dollars for more service. If all that was needed was a little tightening of the door plus the original gear replacement, they could have at least tried that. When I called to see if I could get my money back, they hid behind their "we won't guarantee that repair" statement.
