Precision Garage Door Service

I called Precision Garage Door to repair a garage door opener on a house I recently purchased. Joe arrived on time and was very personable. He explained how the garage door worked and pointed out what he thought was wrong with my current opener. Unfortunately, things went south for me when he tried to sell me a new garage door opener. He began by telling me the costs of the individual components for repairing the opener I had. He was inconsistent with his estimated costs for different components of the opener (censors, arm, tortion springs etc.) which reduced his credibility with me. At one point he indicated that the sensors cost $100 each. He later told me that they come with the garage door opener. He offer to sell and install a chain (noisy) opening system for $395.00 or a belt system (quieter) for $495.00. After I declined he made me aware that there was a $24.95 service charge which was never mentioned to me before then. I paid the service charge and immediately went to Home Depot and purchased a Genie belt driven opener with installation for $295.00.

They were punctual, courteous, professional. The garage door closes silently -- it sounds like a new door. Would definitely recomend.

Company called me to schedule service appointment for a saturday, which surprised me. The service technician called prior to arrival and said he could come earlier. He showed me his ID on arrival and was very professional, made a suggestion with no attempt to hard sell. Definitely plan to use in future.

The technician arrived promptly. We talked about the garage door and he went to work on it. The door used to jump the track and was very loud when it opened and shut. He improved both of those problems.

The service performed was excellent. The technician arrived promptly on time. He was very courteous and professional. He performed the necessary inspection and maintenance and even checked a problem that I was concerned about. He explained the cause of the problem and gave me a very reasonable estimate of the cost of repair. I was, and am, very pleased with the service and would call Precision Overhead Garage Door Service if further service is neeeded.

I called On Wednesday and was offered an appt later that afternoon. I made the appt for Thursday between 8 a.m. and 11.00am. The technician, Josh, was at our house promptly at 8 a.m. He was extremely knowledgable and professional. He clearly enjoys his job and is a true asset to this company. We are thrilled with the new system and how quiet and snooth it performs.

He explained everything he was looking for and what he was going to do. And he told me how much it would cost to bring the door into this century. He said it would need to be replaced in the very near future.

Everything was great...I didn't even have to be home. I left the garage door unlocked, he came in, made the repair, locked my garage door, and I paid my bill over the phone. I'm very happy.

When my garage door broke and I could not open it, I called Precision Garage Doors. They came out that same day and told me the spring was broken and that the system needed some refurbishment (after 32 years). Since I had been planning on installing a wind and ikmpact resistant door next year, I chose to to replace the door now. The technician had all thre information I needed to select a new garage door so I selected what I wanted and placed it on order. Delivery was estimated as 3 weeks. Before leaving, the technician manually opened the broken door so I could move my car outside. The new door arrived in 3 weeks as estimated and I scheduled installation for 2 days later. They arrived on schedule and installed the new door. I have been very satisfied with the results. Final cost matched the estimate.

I had the torsion springs replaced on our garage door about a month prior. For the last week, the door was creaking and seemed to be struggling until the cables came off the drums and became lodged in the tracks late Friday afternoon (of course). I was upset because I had just spent $245 on new springs with another garage door company and was told by the installer that we shouldn't "have any problems for years." I called the other garage door company and was told that it would be a minimum of $175.00 just to show up because it was "after hours." Needless to say, I was not going to pay that, especially when it appeared that the malfunction was due to their error. I then called Precision Door the next morning because they had previously installed a new opener and rollers about two years ago. I was told that Dennis would be out to our house the same day. A benefit of this company is that you can go to their website and see a picture of your installer. Dennis was very professional and immediately suspected that the springs installed by the other garage door company were responsible for the malfunction. After examining the door and springs he concluded that the springs previously installed were too much (i.e. too powerful) for the relative weight of the door and that to compensate, the other garage door company installer had loosened them below their recommended torsion (the door with the springs wound properly would actually open itself a few feet just based on spring energy, making the door "hot"). Dennis had sympathy for the situation and discounted parts and labor. There was no charge for showing up on a Saturday. He also provided a detailed write up which explained the other garage door company's error to assist me in getting them to come back out and install the proper springs. Dennis did not attempt to sell me anything that I didn't need. I was very impressed and will always go back to Precision Door in the future.

Fast and well done. Techs cleaned up all the debris and were finished in about an hour.

They were in and out within an hour. It was one gentleman. He was very prompt, very pleasant, and efficient. He did a great job and kept us informed. All the noise that we were hearing from the garage door is now gone.

They showed up on time, and performed the service. The serviceperson was pleasant, performed the work, gave me the receipt and left. Garage door works great.

I bought, through Angie's list, a special deal for an inspection and maintenance of my garage door. The next day someone from the company called to schedule the service. We made an appointment for the next day in the afternoon. I received a telelphone call from one of the service men. He said they were running a little ahead and wondered if it would be ok of they got here earlier than the scheduled time. I thought that was great! Jake and Neal, the service technicians came to my home. They did a thorough inspection of my garage door and replace and/or tightened bolts. Neal stated that the door is very old and pointed out some things that would eventually need replacing and also that it does not meet the current hurricane code. He suggested that I consider replacing the door to meet code rather then replacing parts and still not meet the code. He showed me different types from what I had and gave me a quote for a new door that would meet the current code. I am in the process of making a decision of whether or not I will replace the door. Both technicians were very polite and professional. There was no pressure, only information for my consideration.

Neal was the technician who came out. He called me when he was on the way to inform me that he would be to my home in 5 minutes. He was very nice, likes animals. He did the maintenance as described in the package I purchased. He informed me of an annual maintenance service, but was not pushy about an up sale. My door now closes on command! Rather than having to hold the button until it completely closes.

I was very pleased with all aspects of the garage door installation from the quote through final inspection. The employees were courteous and very knowledgeable.

The original door was not up to the new hurricane codes, and was not insulated, resulting in the A/C air handler sweating so bad that it had to be replaced last year due to corrosion, and the opener worked only when it wanted to. A broken spring was the last straw. I decided an upgrade was in order. Precision showed up on time and finished in less than 4 hours. They left the job site cleaner than they found it. The new door works very well and quietely. The temperature in the garage is reasonable and the air handler is not sweating. I am satisfied with the work and the door.

The work he did was fine. He should have told me about the discounts that were going on instead of charging me the normal amount of money. He didn't give me the discounted price for some things, which I found out later on after I paid him. I called the company to find information about other discounted service, and they ended up refunding me some money. The work they did was fine, but they didn't do a good job of notifying me of discounted services.

For severl months the garage door had not opened properly. The panel needed to be pressed several times to make the door move and it only went up about half way. I was fixed and has worked normally since the service.

I will use them again and definitely woud recommend them.

Keith from Precision was great. He showed me what was wrong and why the garage was so loud. He explained to me what he was doing and what I should do in the future to keep the garage quiet. I actually like to hear the sound of the garage going up and down now, since there is hardly any noise. Thanks Keith.

Dennis was very friendly and down to earth. He impressed me with his honesty, as he could have sold me some parts that I didn't need. Instead, he advised me that I could possibly get another one or two year's use out of the parts before they needed to be replaced. Dennis is very knowledgeable about garage doors, he worked efficiently, and he left no mess behind.

First the deal through angies list was great. The tech Keith showed up right on time and was very polite and explained everything.He then went about replacing the rollers and balanced the door and checked all the other parts. lubed up the entire system. All great work and would highly recommend them to anyone.
