Description of Work: cleaned out gutters and installed 75 ft of gutter guard. This company also installed our gutters and vinyl wrapped our eaves. Was surprised that at the original installation gutter guards were not mentioned.

Description of Work: I INITIALLY BOUGHT THE GUTTER SERVICE, BUT REALIZED THAT I COULD NOT GET ALL THE GUTTERS I WANTED, SO I USED THEM TO INSTALL A NEW KITCHEN SINK AND |FAUCET. THE TECHNICIAN WAS VERY NICE AND THE WORK WAS DONE VERY WELL. I WILL USE THEM AGAIN.

We ended up doing half the job as they found some roof damage and we will need repairs before we continue. |Gutters look better than expected as we had to change the color as the old color was no longer available.We felt they were fair and honest.

Description of Work: Nick Walsh, the contractor, came to see what the job entailed. I pointed out water stains on three ceilings. I also indicated several walls and a hallway that I wanted painted. He said the ceilings' popcorn texture had to be removed, the ceiling retextured and painted before any walls could be painted. (He explained it would be done by a 'truck mounted' machine, that he either owned or received a percentage from.) His charge would be $2250 to replace the ceilings. The $399 could only be applied to painting the walls and anything beyond that amount would cost $35 per man-hour, with two men at the job ($70 per hour) - probably another 5-6 hours that would be another $350 - $420. He and I disagreed about the logistics of the job (he wanted the ceilings to be completed in one day - beginning at 8:30 AM and ending whenever - even 1 or 2 AM or later. I told him that was unacceptable and he ended up telling me that I was wrong and would change my mind. As we walked through the house, I saw I had a new leak on a different ceiling. We walked outside to see the approximate location (chimney) and I said I'd have my roofer check it. My roofer came and said noticed the stucco was cracked on one side of the chimney. He caulked what he could and suggested that I have someone seal and paint the chimney. I asked Nick to estimate sealing and painting the chimney ($725). While he was here, he also estimated repairing the cracks, patching some areas and painting my deck ($2615). Because I wanted the chimney repaired ASAP, I agreed for a total of $3340. (I should have stood my ground and only had the chimney done.) The work was completed with one man for two partial days and two men for two full days. $3340 was outrageous, but, since he was 'recommended' by Angie's List, I believed he would be 'fair', so I accepted his bid. I have since learned that his price was horribly exorbitant and outrageous. When Nick called to schedule the ceiling replacement and painting I told him that I would be unable to have the ceilings replaced due to the cost (he suggested that I charge it and pay it off when it was convenient). I asked if he would apply the $399 I'd already paid Angie's List and he said that he couldn't because Angie's List kept a good part of the payment and that Angie's List wouldn't let him apply it to this job. I told him I would call soon to set up a date for his painters. In the course of a few days, I received an bill via email and several calls (requesting payment). I decided to call Angie's List to see what might be done. After explaining my situation in detail, the customer service rep, Addie, that I spoke with couldn't have been more supportive or helpful. After learning that she would set the process in motion for a refund of the $399 Big Deal, I called Home Res-Q to ask if I could place the $3340 on my credit card. I was told I could, for an additional 3.5%. I said that was unacceptable and that I wouldn't have all the cash for about a month. I was told I had to pay now, at least for the labor and the materials and that $1000 would be quite acceptable. I agreed. After a short time, I was called back and told they would accept the charge card without the additional 3.5%, which is how I paid for the work. I think that 2340 is an incredible 'profit' for the job. Certainly not what I expected from an Angie's List 'recommended' contractor. I believe that I was seriously overcharged because I was 'captive' due to the $399 I'd already paid. I am a widow, in my 60's whose house is in a lovely community - but I'm not a fool. He took advantage of his entrée into my home through Angie's List and did a disservice to both Angie's List and to me. I recently paid for another two years of Angie's List services, but I'm seriously considering cancelling my membership. Angie's List didn't work the way I believe it should have for this 'Big Deal'.

Description of Work: The Home Res-Q Inc personnel were very responsive and helpful in scheduling the original service. I had to cancel due to personal reasons. They continued to be very helpful by following up, suggesting other dates, and finally informing me of my option to go through Angie's List to obtain a refund if I was not able to get the services scheduleed.

Description of Work: My living room and dining room were painted. Plaster was reaied and the entire job was done in a prompt and professional manner.

Description of Work: Home Res-Q was courteous and punctual n both contacting me for appointment for the cost estimate and in providing the estimate. In the course of obtaining an estimate for other work by a separate contractor, they offered to complete the work without the need to replace a door which amounted to over a 50% savings.

Reinstalled drapery hardware and rehung wiindow covering in Florida room and hardware for window in bedroom 5. Moved furniture back into place in bedroom These men cleaned up both areas worked without interruption throughout the time they were here. . Apparently, the previous day,a customer had added several other paint tasks that required painters to continue into my appointment. Special thanks to the office manager for juggling workers to do my project on the day that we had set.Few companies are sso accomodating.

Description of Work: Mr. Walsh of Res-Q-Inc. was 40 minutes late for the estimate appointment. The estimate was more than double the price of a competitors estimate. We will not hire Res-Q Inc.!

Description of Work: Two professionals painted 2 rooms and a hall and did a great job. They were very professional and worked very hard completing the job in 1 day.

Description of Work: We had them come out to install a gutter on the front of house. We indicated that we were going to paint the house and roof tiles so they gave us an estimate for that work and said they would install the gutter once the painting was done. We have not had the painting done yet. However, they have called a couple of times to find out where we are in the process.
