Was quick and efficient. Only negative aspect was some (2-3) of the 5-inch screw/nails from the old gutter apparatus were found in the driveway or in the planter bed area after work was completed and installers had departed. Hence, the B grade on professionalism. Cant afford an inadvertent nail in a car tire.

First, Nick came out to give me an estimate, which was a decent amount of money to charge. Then, their office called to schedule the actual repair date. It was only a few days away. The contractor arrived a few minutes early and went straight to work. In a few hours, it was repaired. It looks great and I feel so much better with everything secured once more. I have other things here that need attention and I intend to get Home Res-Q, Inc. back here for estimates on all the things I need done here. I would recommend them to everybody. I am very pleased with how they do business!

It went without incident from the first meeting to estimate the cost of the project until the last day. The painters were courteous and professional with an obvious knowledge of their profession. The final cost of the project was a bit higher than I expected, although I can't say that I am up on the cost of $80/hr for 2 painters. I have always been a do-it- yourselfer in the past and decided it was worth paying someone else to do the job now that I'm older.

We used a coupon for 2 painters for 14 hrs. at $447.00. We needed an additional day with 1 painter for 7 hrs. at $280.00 (regular rate) to complete the painting needed. All the walls that had 1 coat already and needed a 2nd coat done by the painters were well done. One bath needed all new painting and was well done.The garage needed 95% painting by the painters and was well done. Baseboards and trim was well done. All of it was interior work. The problem area: All indoor doors needed painting from brown wood look to a white color. We removed the doors, prepped them for painting and had them set up on sawhorses or similar outside. The company contact person said they had to be spray painted. We did prep work covering glass doors where overspray could reach them. The painters covered a very large area of newly rescreened porch area. Somehow their coverings of the new screening failed and the white paint was all over the screening. We tried 2 methods of clean-up suggested by the Co. but no luck. This was additional paid labor to a family member who took time off from work to fix their error! The screening was ruined. Next problem: the youngest painter of the 2 painters spray painted the primer too heavily, didn't allow the extra drying time required, then sprayed the top coat all within 8hrs. The door paint ran and looked very bad. The older painter hand rolled some doors and they came out just fine. All the spray painted doors had to be re-done and the screening on the porch replaced. The Co. didn't charge us for the screening itself, which is great and appropriate. Then we were charged $20.00/hr. (half price) for all the bad doors to be repainted. They came out fairly good looking. But we paid $160.00 for them to fix their mistakes...actually the mistakes of 1 painter. Plus the paid labor to try to remove paint from screening. We hired professionals to paint and expected a professional job. Instead, we paid $160.00 for their mistakes and that price was higher until we negotiated to bring it down. The positive is that the Co. did repair their errors vs. abandoning us, didn't charge for the replaced screening, and brought down the price we paid to correct their errors. I suggest anyone think twice about using this Co. because you will pay for their mistakes.

After 42 years I thought it may be time to replace my gutters so I searched Angie?s List and found an A-rated business, Home Res-Q, offering a great price on 40 feet of gutter replacement. My gutters are slightly longer, but I wanted to relocate downspouts and, because of my trees, cover with screens so I accepted the deal and would pay the excess directly to Home Res-Q. They contacted me the next day to setup an appointment for an estimate the following day. The estimator was very knowledgeable, found some minor damage and offered several options. Once all the details were set, the company contacted me to schedule the repair and installation, both within the next three days. Both crews showed up on time and did a completely professional job. The repair person did an outstanding job, the damaged area is not distinguishable from the original and my gutter installation looks outstanding. I will definitely use this company again.

The service was okay. They were punctual and the work was good.

I called several gutter companies to estimate the job. The front installation was routine, but the back installation presented problems because of the shape of the roof, and the fact that I wanted the installation to be symmetrical. One company I called said the job could not be done. A second said it could be done, but they did not service my part of the county. A third company gave a fair price (after some haggling, because they stated that the compound miters for the rear installation would drive the cost up), but would not commit to an installation date that would accommodate the re-screening of the pool cage that was also scheduled. The gutters had to go in before the re-screening because one downspout would have to pass through the ceiling and out the side of the screen. When that company could not commit to a date after more than a week of talking, I cancelled them. I was still on the hook with the third company above, and running out of time - so I called HomeResQ on a Friday knowing nothing about them, except that they were listed in Angie's List. The secretary, Cassandra was superb, truly part of the team. I faxed her photos of the rear roof situation; she understood the nature of what I had to do, consulted with the owner, and penciled in a date for an estimate. On the following Monday afternoon, the company I was on the hook for still would not promise a date, and my time for the re-screening was upon me. I cancelled that job, and called Cassandra. Nick, the owner, showed up on Wednesday to do the estimate. His price was fair, no haggling (unlike the other company, which had tried to back out of the Angie's List discount - until I told him I was an attorney). Nick was able to plan an installation that did exactly what I wanted, and that looked good - and it solved a problem on a steep roof with no overhang that had allowed water to penetrate the stucco, causing problems in the attic. And amazingly - HomeResQ was able to do the installation the following day! From the time I contacted them with the go-ahead until the installation was complete was 4 days (vice 3 weeks for other companies for the same job). That accommodation was fantastic, and meant that the screen cage could be properly screened around the downspout HomeResQ handles many tasks, and has a large enough workforce to be able to accommodate unusual constraints when necessary. Tom and Ben, the installers were polite, professional, and fast. They showed up on time, went over the installation with me to ensure we were all on the same track. The compound miters that had been so bothersome for another company (which used them to try to jack up the price and not offer the Angie's List discount advertised) were handled easily - Tom and Ben arrived with templates that made the miters easy, and they easily made the small adaptations necessary during the installation. They made excellent suggestions about some aspects of the installation that I had not covered with Nick. The gutters look great, and make up for the lack of any over hang on my roof. Best of all, after a deluge of 5-1/2 inches of rain today, in only two hours, the interior of the problem wall is absolutely dry! These folks were pros, were responsive, and well worth the (very fair) price.

Met with Nick Walsh, the owner to go over what I wanted done. At first I thought when he sees this it's going to cost me BIG time. My property runs from street to back alley....Over the 20 years that I have lived here, the over growth of bushes, trees "palm & other varities" , and vines had become enormous...Knowing that if I didn't have something done the metal fence would eventually be heavly damaged...When I was given the quote I didn't even give it another thought and said how soon can you start...It was determined that since I was going to be on vacation and had my dogs in a kennel they would have it done before I came back..They did, and what a wonderful job...To my amazement there was no fence damage done by them removing all the growth. Everything I asked to be done was, and what they promised was completed in full....When I came back from my vacation the owner and his wife came by to make sure I was happy with everything...I was so impressed I ask them if they could recommend a way to fix a large double gate, which they did a week later....both jobs were done with no pre-payment and when finished done to my liking and them some....I have also had a roof replaced by another company, so now I will contact Nick for an estimate to replace the two ceilings that were leaking and some drywall...It's great to know that I can depend on a company to not only do as they say, but take pride in their work and doing all without ripping the customer off price wise....Would recommend this company for any renovation/repair for interior or exterior work....Thanks again Home Res-Q for a job well done....

They gave a good price and when I changed what I wanted done, they did it very nicely. They were very efficient, cleaned up after they were done and it works. They did a good job, they were on time and they did everything they were supposed to do. I can't complain and I would use them again.

The craftmanship is superb. This is truly a company that can do the finish work. Professional, on time, very reasonably priced for that kind of quality. They really took a kitchen that had been trashed by the previous owner and transformed it.One would expect all cabinets and crown molding to be straight but these guys found the same crown molding that was already in this older house to add around the stainless rangehood they installed. Very classy work. See photos of the before and after. We had ordered the bathroom vanity 4 piece set with 2 fluted decor legs-that of course did not quite fit in the space. Jason, the supervisor was able to "bump out" the 2 sets of drawers and legs so everything fit and added dimension to that area.

Nick showed up promptly for the quote. He wasn't the cheapest but he also, by far, wasn't the most expensive for the quality of work he offered. The paint was mixed to the custom colors I had chosen and even though it wasn't the paint company that was Nicks first choice he used them and didn't back off of his guarentee or charge more. All of his staff are excellent. Everyone was on time, worked hard and professional. The paint was hand rolled on and in one particular room had to cover a very dark and bright blue with a much paler yellow. The crown molding was also painted a different color than the wall and the ceiling. There was a supervisor there at all times. The work is just superb. One of the wall was actually ripped wide open at the door frameleaving exposed wires and no frame. It looks better now then all of the originals in the house.

Didn't decide to go forward with the service but the folks who worked with us setting the appointment and the estimator were both friendly and knew their business.

**UPDATE: (APRIL 14,2014) NICK (OWNER) CALLED AS SOON AS HE SAW THIS REVIEW AND WAS GENUINELY CONCERNED. HE CAME TO THE HOUSE AND INSPECTED THE ISSUES AND TOOK NOTE OF THEM. HE WORKED WITH OUR WORK SCHEDULE AND SCHEDULED THE REPAIRS ON OUR CONVENIENCE. HE ASSURED US THAT THE ORIGINAL PAINTERS ARE NOT COMING BACK. TODAY 2 PAINTERS CAME BY AND CORRECTED THE ERRORS, STAINS, ISSUES. MY HUSBAND SAID THEY WERE PUNCTUAL AND PROFESSIONAL COMPARED TO THE ORIGINAL 2 WE HAD. THEY EVEN FOUND SOME MORE ERRORS THAT WE DID NOT NOTICE BEFORE AND CORRECTED THEM. I THINK THIS WAS A LEARNING EXPERIENCE FOR BOTH PARTIES- US AS NEW HOMEOWNERS AND THE IMPORTANCE OF HIRING THE RIGHT PEOPLE FOR YOUR COMPANY. LIKE I SAID BEFORE, I DO NOT HAVE ANY ISSUES WITH HOME RES-Q. THEY JUST HIRED THE WRONG PEOPLE. UNFORTUNATELY, I CANNOT GIVE THEM AN 'A' BECAUSE OF THE ORIGINAL PROBLEMS WHICH COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED BY SUPERVISING NEW HIRES/JOBS BUT I WILL GIVE THEM A 'B' FOR GOOD SERVICE RECOVERY! THANK YOU FOR LISTENING TO YOUR CUSTOMERS! I ended up with this company because of the angie's list deal. We needed to cut down on cost since we were in the process of getting backsplash in the kitchen and flooring done. It looked like a good deal and it was, so I booked. The company was accomodating as far as the dates of the job, etc. The painters for this deal are subcontractors which I should have known since this is an overall home repair company. I just started reflecting on the events today since I've noticed a lot of imperfections in the job. I was not present during the time of work so I was not aware of the "short cuts" that have been made. And, as any homeowner, most of the time you don't notice things until you've "lived in it for a while". I am not the type to make a big deal of things when the price is alright but I do have 20/20 vision and common sense to realize when a job has been done haphazardly. I then recall that they were extremely late during the first day of the job. We were told they would be arriving at 8am. The painters did not arrive until at 1030am. I was at work and during my lunch break I called my husband to ask how far they come along. My husband then informed me that they did not arrive until 1030am and said they were locked out of the truck and had to wait for a locksmith to retrieve the keys. Things happen in life but I was suspicious because no one ever called me or my husband to let us know. We let that go as we were on a time frame. Needless to say the first day which covered the coupon (7 hours x 2 painters for $447) was not very productive. They painted 4 walls double coat of the dark color. At the end of the day, I was worried that paying painters by the hour was not a good idea but again we were on a time frame. It took 2 more days (8-9 hours each day x 2 painters at $40 each) to "complete" the job. I put the quotation marks on "complete" because it is the painters' definition of complete not mine. As I go about the house I have noticed a lot of smudges, lines are skewed, lots of spots that were rushed, parts of the doors and trims that were left out, and just general imperfections that "professionals" are not supposed to leave unfinished. I remember telling my husband to let the painter know that I saw a spot in the bathroom that needed another coat. He mentioned it to the painter at the end of the day. The painter mumbled and complained, painted the spot which was close to an edge and smeared paint over the edge without correcting it. That's when I stopped pointing out things because apparently you'll get attitude in return anyway. Plus I don't want to pay any more per hour for work that was not exactly what I expected. We never had the house painted before so at that point in time I was just relieved to have the 1st floor painted before the flooring company came. Also, the manager of the company never came back to inspect. After they got paid, that's it. I just realized that since we have had contractors in and out of the house now and all managers came back to inspect their workers' end product and corrected mistakes that I did not even notice. We are now in the process of painting the 2nd floor and have initially considered hiring the company if they will honor the same angie's list deal to save money but they only allow one deal per household which I understand. However, I have then realized that with all the imperfections that I discover everyday and my recall of sub par professionalism actually made me ask myself "Do you really want them back again?"

the estimator was able to come out while we were at work one day which was nice that we didnt have to take any time off to be there for this. He left the estimate in our mailbox with a note and diagram explaining everything and the cost break down. The quote was for the exact places we had discussed on the phone. It was done in a timely and professional manner.

Great response to my inquiries and timing and fair billing for services rendered. I'll use the company again.

They did a great job. Their cutting-in at the corners was perfect! They were on time and took just 2 short breaks the whole day and a half they were here.

Great experience! They came out to review the job and describe what they would do, then scheduled a time for the work, arrived on time, completed the job in the time they had estimated, and charged me exactly what we had agreed to, without trying to upsell me anything. I was very impressed and definitely would recommend them.

This was my first experince having work done in my home.....I'm happy with the gutter replacement and landscaping (although the landscaping did take awhile with miscommunication internally amongst employees). The whole hourly thing....paying them by the hour became very expensive and work wasnt being completed on time that was discussed during the quote with Nick. I don't like paying by the hour...I feel like I'm constantly keeping tabs...the time started and ended and what happened in between....I also didn't like having two people working cause that just doubled the price of the labor. Hd some items broken in my home by the drywaller....kitchen clock, screen door, and marble floor chipped the size of a nickel where the work was done. Joint compound dripped all over floor (they removed the plastic covering) spent about an hour scarping it off the floor...wasn't pleased about that. My kitchen is finally completed and I'm happy on how it turned out.....although my dining room just had drywall wall up and not finished....there was a leak from the ceiling which is why I called home res-q but the drywall was put before the roof guy came out....so there is some damage on the work that was done. I'm not really sure if I want home res-q to complete the dining room...Im thinking to call another company that will finish up and pay by the job (which is stated under the home res-q company profile). I'm trying to make this review as fair as I can.

They did a fine job. There were 2 men who worked here and they spent all of 8 hours doing the master bedroom and they did a great job. They were very helpful, very easy to deal with and they were fine. It went smooth sailing.

The service was fun. There were no major complaints with the work that they did. There was a bit of a question on the billing hours, but it was fun. They were very professional and very accommodating. They let me know what they were planning to do and they followed through. They pretty much did everything they said they were going to do.

Installation performed very professionally in reasonable time. Very satisfied with the installation process and results. Took 2 hours to install 120 feet (both sides of the house).

They did a good job with scheduling and the quality of the work was excellent. Overall, it was pretty good and they were very courteous.

We had some scheduling conflicts (I was only available a few days a week to unlock the fence to let them in, last minute cancellations because weather on the previous days put them behind on other jobs, showing up late, leaving early without telling me), but in the end they got all the work done and went over the 16 hours of labor I paid for and didn't charge me for the extra time. For the price, I would use them again, but unfortunately they are very far away from me so scheduling was an issue. I did recommend them to my neighbors across the street and I know this company gave my neighbors a quote for exterior house painting.

The gutter part of the appointment was great and I was happy with that part of the service. They did miss a spot on a 6’ piece, so I need to call them back. I was not happy with the screens they put in; they did replace the parts that had holes in them. There was one technician out doing the work and he was just fine; I have no complaints about him. There just seemed to be a miss communication between the owner of the company and the technician. I was not impressed with the owner.

They did the work as promised, it was easy to contact them and schedule, and they did a decent job with the installation.
