This is the third time I have used R & D Aluminum and they are extremely professional in all aspects - I will definitely be calling them again in the future.

Description of Work: R&D provided us with a detailed assessment of the house outer openings that needed to be upgraded in order to qualify for the windstorm insurance discount in Broward County. They provided the code compliant shutters and gave us good advice on the most cost effective way to achieve compliance. They did a good job and even took pictures of the shutters in place and the shutters themselves which we submitted to our insurance company. We received a $4,600 yearly discount on our policy. As you may imagine I was very happy with their work. The inspector even commented on how well the work was done on some areas which were challenging to achieve the complete opening coverage required. Would give them the best rating!

Description of Work: I needed to install an approximately 400 square foot aluminum roofed patio.

Description of Work: I called Richard from R&D Aluminum back in May and asked for an estimate to install shutters on 3 windows. He was very professional and made arrangements to drive out to my home and take measurements for Accordion hurricane shutters. He was very prompt in emailing the estimate to me. I explained to him that I would be ready to do something in a couple months because I wasn't sure if I wanted to get shutters for additional windows and doors. He understood and said to call him whenever I was ready. When I was finally ready to have the work done I made an appointment for Richard to come to the house to measure an additional window for an accordion shutter and 3 doors for hurricane panels. Richard arrived right on time and explained what work would be done and how the shutters would be installed. His estimate would include the removal of 4 existing clam shell style awnings. He also took the time to explained different installation options for the doors and was very detailed in his measuring and estimate. He could answer all my questions because he was the one who would be doing the installation so he knew what would work and what wouldn't work when it came to door panels and tracks. *** I had gotten other estimates from companies that would send out a sales person to sell the shutters without having any knowledge or hands on experience with installation. One company had a sales person call me and asked me to go outside and get the measurements so that they could give me a quote over the telephone. How absurd is that. I personally think it is better for someone to physically see what the job looks like in order to quote the job with accuracy. In addition, their quotes were more than double the quote from R&D Aluminum.*** Richard presented me with a work proposal which I signed on 8/22/11. HIS PROPOSAL STATES: "NO MONEY DOWN/PAYABLE UPON COMPLETION". When is the last time you saw those words in writing???? In Florida????.........never. Once the shutters were manufactured and ready to be installed he said he would call me to set up the installation date. He called on 9/6/11 to let me know that he would be here to remove the existing awnings on 9/7, (done as said) and that he would be back on 9/8 at 10 AM to do the installation. On 9/8 he arrived on time with his partner Dan and began the work. He made sure he had all the paperwork and permit in order and finished the job by 2PM. They did a fantastic job. Afterwards, Richard and Dan wiped down all the shutters and cleaned up. They made sure to show me how to installed the door panels properly and how to close and lock the shutters. I am an extremely happy customer! Once I was satisfied he then presented me with the invoice and I paid him.
