This experience has been fantastic from the very beginning. I had heard so many horror stories about roofers that I had worried and procrastinated about calling about this leak since it was in the sofit and leaked outside the house. I checked Angie's List after the last big rain and found J&K Roofing who had very good scores. When I called for an estimate, they were very accommodating with a later appointment. Sammy was even a little early for our appointment. He is friendly but professional and seemed to know exactly what the problem was and what problems they might find underneath. He gave me the estimate and it seemed fair. He called back that same day and said they could do it the next day, a Saturday, which was great for me. Gene and Dan arrived on time and went right to work. These 2 men were also friendly but professional. Gene explained the problem, removed several shingles, replaced a piece of rotted wood, and put down he new shingles. They had checked the whole roof and fixed another place also. They worked steadily in the May heat and finished in just a few hours. They cleaned up after themselves, even using a blower to clean the roof and patio. It is a relief for me to find a company that I feel I can trust to do a good job and stand behind their work. I had expected this to be like a root canal, and it was just a tiny cavity. I had also been afraid that they would only want to replace the whole roof, but they said that the roof was good. It is great to know that I have them in my contact list so that I can call them if I have another problem in the future. They even called back to say the total was reduced due to being an Angie's List member, so it came in under the estimate.

They showed up early and stayed late. Very professional and courteous. I would recommend them highly.

The three day project involved getting rid of the old roof, load the materials on the roof, and put down the new roof. They did a clean job and hardly left behind any garbage. During the three days I was at work most part of the day, the roofers just did their work non-stop. Whenever I called Mr. Donnie Herron, he would answer my phone or call back within thirty minutes. It made me feel very comfortable to use a company with reliable and responsible people. Twice the new roof didn't pass inspection, each time the roofers came back to correct the problems accorinding to the inspector until it finally passed the inspection. Since I paid in full before the work was completed, when I called Mr. Donnie Herron to send me a copy of the inspection after they finished the work, I was not expecting anything would happen. Mr. Herron called back to verify the mailing address and the mail came in with the copy of the inspection. I would definitely recommend J & K to my friends in the future. A good job well done.

I call J & K Roofing for an estimate for a new roof. They showed up on time on the day that we had an appointment. The roofing estimate was given to me on the spot. Even though I did not choose to go forward with getting a whole new roof I would have definitely used them as my roofing contractor.

call for a free estimate , made an appointment .Chris showed up on time we had 2 homes to do. we got 3 estimates from 3 contractors. J&K was the most on time , estimate was up front , and spilled out all the cost . also was able to tell me how long it would take to do both homes (3 days) when it was time to start the job . they were on time on the date stated . came with all they need to get the job completed and first inspection on the first day we were dyed in . next day same thing to the 2nd home one day roof ripped off,rotten wood replaced and first inspection .cleaned up each day . very professional about the job from start to the end last day complied both homes on time! to day we meet with J&K to see the photos taken as the work on rotten wood replacement was completed .so the over run on wood was also up front and fair.both homes look good and the workmanship looks neat with a ten year guarantee the best out of the 3 contractors.

The initial inspection and consultation was by far the most thorough and detailed of the three companies that gave me proposals. That is why I chose them. The work was performed per contract and on the date reserved. So far there are no leaks so I would say I am happy with their work.

They arrived promptly and went over and above the work agreed to complete the job professionally I would definitely recommend them to others

From what I can tell the work look good. Well no more rain is coming into my home. After checking around I found other people with quality work with much lower price.

Billy showed up to give us an estimate. He called before coming to let us know exactly when he would be at our home. Billy was a total delight. Very personable and friendly. Even though the roof was leaking in only one area Billy checked out the whole roof and told us that even though the roof is 17 years old it is in good shape. We thought the estimate was more than fair and set up a date for repair. Mike and his assistant showed up and did a great job. They found another small area along the same line where the roof intersected and repaired that too. We would call J & K again for any roof issues. We are thinking of having them pressure clean our roof.

they have been to my house repairing leaks 8 times since all caused by nails backing up through shingles due to improper tin tacking in tongue & groove wood which they were not used to in Miami-Dade County they say nails backing up are not guaranteed but the are doing me a favor! ha ha i want a new roof!

Came to home, inspected work repairs asked about, very nice guy. Said would provide estimate for repairs in two days via email. Never received any estimate . Contacted 9/13/2013 and was told that they have enough work and are turning down jobs. We should put a new roof on the house even though the roof was replaced 5 years ago. Would not provide an estimate. Will never bother them again and will tell others they are too busy to work for anyone.

J&K Rocks! I called Wednesday morning to the main number and explained I was lookig for an estimate to fix a leaking roof.. I was told someone would call me back shortly. No more than ten minutes later Gene called and said he could be over in twenty minutes. He was there sooner. We went up on the roof and took a look. He answered all my questions thoroughly. When I didn't understand something he went back over it until I did. All in all he took a good hour with me over a relatively minor (are any roof leaks minor? I have had five different roofers since the 2005 hurricanes) leak. He laid out a plan with an estimate that would as clearly as possible get to the issue. I okayed the estimate hoping that I had finally found "the one". Before he left, Gene made a call and and I was set up for that Friday. He explained he may not be the one doing the work but I was in good hands. Friday 7:30 came the know on the door. Butch introduced himself and his helper "Bee" (who Gene later told me his real name was Mario. To shorten the story, Butch and "Bee" were buzzing around the work and were done by 3:30. They actually found a a second spot that was leaking and fixed that as well. Gene stopped by a couple times to check on things and bring a few extra tiles. (My leak was between the tile and flat roof part) When Butch knocked on the door to pick up the check it looked as if they had never been there. They had a tarp dwn on the grass to throw rotted wood etc. onto. They cleaned up beautifully. Thanks J&K! I will definitely be calling you when I have the money for a new roof. (Gene explained and showed me why my original roof ,which is at least 30 years old should be replaced) You're the One!

i don't remember the exact price. They were not the cheapest, but they were very reasonable. They worked around the holidays to fit our schedule. They were so fast! Got permits and started working right away. They did a good job and were very clean. I would definitely use them again.

I called 2 days prior to appointment, I dont remember the name of the person. but the bottom line is that he inspected the roof said it needed to be replace. Left and told me that the estimate will be in by Monday the 30th of July. I'm still waiting for the estimate.

Had an appointment today for Noon - 1pm. No Show, No Call. They are off the list.

Had a very good experience. Started job right away, showed up when said they would and completed the job on time. Cleaned up after the job and were very professional. Would recommend to anyone.

Yesterday my 93 yr. old handicapped Mom developed a leak in her roof right above her bed. We live in a different state but the caretaker who helps her, contacted J & K for us. They were able to come the next day and repair the roof. She said the workers were professional and great to deal with. We really appreciated their timely response, hard work and the excellent job they did. Being out of state, it was so nice to have Angie's List to find someone we could trust.

They were very good. They did the job. They didn't try to pressure me into getting something else like a lot of roofing companies do. The person, Billy, who handled it all was very good. I got a discount for being a senior citizen. It was very good. They did everything I wanted them to do. They did a great job.

They did an excellent job. They turned up when they said they were going to turn up. They came with 20 guys and they ripped off the roof. They came and they worked all day then the next day they finished up. They were very good.

Fast and complete. Great guys. Warned us of major mistakes we might have made, and completed all the work quickly and professionally. No more leaks!

We needed an estimate on some roof fixing that was needed on a house we were looking to buy. We were very impressed with this company's professionalism over the phone. Chris explained everything very clearly; explained what was wrong with the roof, and what he would do to fix it, how long the job would realistically take, and how well he'd clean up. And provided an estimate for the work on the spot. He was very honest and explained how his estimate is for the real job that'll last 20 years, and that perhaps we'd be able to get someone else to do a lesser job for less.

For their part, very well. Our a/c guy was irresponsible and caused them delays, but they were patient and worked through the problems with us.
