Description of Work: Had a leak in the roof.They repaired the leak.They were here when they said they would be.They explained to me in great deal what was causing the leak, how they were going to fix it, and they're estimate was the best . It's been 5 months or so and so far so good.I know that eventually I will need to replace the entire roof and I will use Earl Johnston roofing again.

Description of Work: Roof repair plus roof cleaning and roof tile sealing. |The roof repair is showing no signs of leaking. However,they needed three new tiles to complete the repair. They found two tiles in my yard from a previous repair and the third tile that they used for the repair seemed used and was a totally different color. The roof was not cleaned to my satisfaction. Some areas don't look cleaned. The job seemed rushed. They gave me a two year guarantee on the roof if the mold returns. We shall see if they honor that if the mold does returns before the two years.

Description of Work: They came out and gave me an estimate to repair leaks in my roof. They told me exactly where the leaks were and why. They fixed what they said would be needed and nothing more. Water tight since that day. I would definetly recommend Earl and his company.

Description of Work: Repair of N.E.corner roof overhang leak area (approx 3'x3')Replaced several shingles,small amt of rotten wood and metal flashing,fascia board, and soffit.Painted most of new fascia and soffit with paint I provided.Clean up wasn't complete (globs of tar,small pieces of wood and metal dropped onto grass and plants)and part of new fascia wasn't painted.I called and complained about these issues,Salesman stopped by later same day.I requested a discount due to the aggravation I experienced (won't be detailed here) while the original job was being done.He said he would discuss with owner.He returned 2 days later with original crew and completed the paint job,so now the repair isn't so apparent right on the front of house.I asked about the discount again,but he said he had already given me a discount ($50)& Angie's List discount of $100,so couldn't do more, nor extend the warranty.That was disappointing.I would encourage any potential customers to READ the contract carefully before signing.It's always to the legal benefit of their company,so don't expect any remuneration for the stress and aggravation you may have to experience during and after the job,even if the contract language is fulfilled.I had total of 3 estimates (all Angie's List A rated) before deciding on Earl Johnston Roofing which was only slightly less,but I chose them on reputation.They do need to work on communication in the office regarding scheduling and notification to the customer,although everyone I was in contact with,start to finish,was very courteous.

Description of Work: They replaced the whole roof, with clay tile on the slope roof and with white TPO on the 3 flat roofs we have. We added pitch and insulation. Earl, the owner, personally came over more than once during consultation. He and his company where incredible professional throughout the whole process, going above and beyond the line of duty. It could be a stressful situation, like many other big home projects and they consistently resolve all the steps with calm and always a good smile. I am not writing this lightly, Earl Johnston and his crew (and the people at the office too) are not only the only roofers that I recommend but the ONLY contractors ever, in any field, that worked on my home that I recommend. Everyone here in south florida are literally not "great" and almost all of them not "profesional". I have had painters, plumbers, pool guys, handymans, landscaping guys, electricians, etc. etc and they always miss something, or don't deliver what they promise or come late or another day, etc. etc. Again the only person (and company) that were up to the angies list ratings and keep their word, took the time to explain everything calmly and did a terrific job for an incredible fare price were Earl Johnston Roofing.

Description of Work: The provider clean my side walk and roof, they sprayed the chemical to keep roof cleaned for a warrantied 2 yrs. I have done this twice and it has work very well, will recommend.

Description of Work: Worked quoted and completed: New roof installation on my 1965 built 1600 sq ft home. I quoted multipple roofers and EJR was the lowest quote and had the highest rating on Angie's list. I did a drive-by on a few of there recent jobs in the area and was impressed. My experience with EJR was very good, prompt on time quote appt, worked completed on schedule. I rated quality "B" because of facia and soffet carpentry wood repair that was sub-par, poor fit and plywood used was thinner than the original so the replacement stood out. Earl Johnston did refund the charges for this work when I discussed this point with no pushback. The workers are primarily roofers not carpenters so my recommendation is to have wood damage repaired by a professional carpenter during the job.

Description of Work: They came on time and inspected the roof as well as took pictures and recommended replacing as there were several leaks and the roof was 20+ years old. They were very knowledgeable and explained all options and did not pressure us to purchase unneeded options.

Description of Work: Repaired two areas of our roof where the fascia boards as well as the plywood above it was rotted. They had to remove everything down to the plywood, cut the rotted areas out and then install new tar paper, flashing and reinstall tiles. Then they painted the wood and caulked where needed. | |They also put rodent screening in the roof vents and installed screening over two outside side wall vents as well. | |It took approx. 8-9 hours to complete the repair. It was much more involved that I thought it would be. | |Also used an Angies List coupon, so that helped to reduce the price. I thought the price was a little high, but then again it took 8-9 hours with two people doing the repairs.
