I called Earl Johnston Roofing amongst other roofing companies for an estimate. Their price was competitive and even more importantly was that they kept to their word and were efficient with a timely estimate. As the job went under way, they were very quick with processing the permit and scheduling - and completing - the re-roof. All in all, I was impressed by their workmanship, their down-to-earth approach to taking care of things and the fact that they handled everything until the job was complete!

The quality of service exceeded my expectations. First off, both Mike and John came across as being professional, polite,personable, and well-spoken. Secondly, every angle of the job that had to be done was explained to be very clearly explained to me. Third, given the quality of their service, the total price appeared to be reasonable. All in all, a solid thumbs-up to all the personnel at Earl Johnston.

We used Earl Johnston Roofing for a roof repair of our flat roof. We had about a 4? x 20 ? 25? area at the edge of the roof that was badly rotted due to leakage and had termites as well. We chose Earl Johnston because of excellent reviews in Angie?s List and because their estimate was in the middle of the range of estimates we received for the job. We needed to coordinate the termite treatment with the roof repair to make sure we were totally rid of termites when the repair area was covered back up. This did not go well at first because the roofing crew spotted a possible problem when they started to cut into the roof and left the job site after sealing the cuts. The termite people could not complete their work and we were frustrated because the roof was not repaired. Earl Johnston came out himself early the next week and reviewed the job, apologized for the delay and offered to get the job done as well as doing additional work for no additional cost. Because the termite people were booked up for the next couple of weeks, Earl also offered to take the new wood for the repair to the termite people for treatment to allow them to fit it in their schedule. Within 2 days the roof repair was complete. The repair was thorough and showed attention to detail. We are very pleased with the final result. Earl Johnston acted in a very professional and responsive manner to make what could have been a bad experience into a very good one. He showed great concern for his customer?s satisfaction. We would definitely use Earl Johnston Roofing in the future.

I’ve used them in the past. They were excellent. I don’t always go for the cheapest rate, because that doesn’t necessarily mean good work. This company does a great job for their price, and other companies try to charge twice as much for the same work. I am thinking of hiring them for another job. I’ve even recommended them to my neighbors.

Called company to request a quote for a roof repair. Representative arrived earlier that expected (wow!) and had already drawn up a written quote by the time I made it home from work. I was told that they would come the next day to do the job. Imagine my surprise when two workers showed up at 8am the next morning to start. Job was completed and all the mess cleaned up. Company even sent me two follow-up emails thanking me for my business. I believe in giving credit where credit is due especially in this day and age. I originally contacted them because my neighbor had used them and provided favorable feedback. I certainly wouldn't hesitate to recommend them or use them again.

Mike Wilde came to investigate a leak in my master bedroom window sill. Mike was professional, courteous and punctual. He inspected the roof and examined the situation. He informed me that my roof was in good shape but that the leak was coming from the window seam and some simple caulking would solve the problem. There was no charge and he was so very helpful. I would be very comfortable in contacting this company in the future for any roofing needs, in addition to referring this company to others who need roofing.

We contacted and went with Earl Johnston Roofing as part of getting estimates from 4 top A rated Angies list roofers. Earl Johnston was in fact the most expensive, however we appreciated their timeliness (for original estimate meeting), and cost breakdown detail (in terms of estimate and providing thorough descriptions of the materials that would be used), that the others seemed lacking. One or two other vendors actually had a somewhat 'salesman' type pressure we didn't care for to make up for lack of detail I believe.. e.g. sign with us today and we'll knock a few bucks off.. The rep from EJRoofing was easy to talk to and answered all our questions thoroughly, without having that 'salesman' feel. The entire project took about 3 weeks.. from estimate, to completion of laying tile. The actual number of days working on the house was probably less than 5 or 6 as the workers were very productive in getting things done. Most of the time was spent waiting for tile to arrive, etc. The 'B' rating (instead of an 'A') and which was almost a 'C' had the end result of the roof job not been to our liking was given for the following major reason. Some damage (major dents) as well as a broken fan occurred to our Air condition unit that set off a period of a week without air while they worked on the roof. EJRoofing was quick to come out and survey, however we were more than a bit annoyed when one of their 'contractors' implied they could not have done it and argued a bit with my wife. An 'english speaking' manager was required to defuse that situation after the contractor actually said.. 'you know hot air rises'.. As it ended up, the ladder they used to get up and down from the roof was placed right beside and over the AC unit. We found the workers tossing 5 gallon buckets from the roof to the ground. Large rolls of 90lb asphalt was also seen on the slope that could fall down on the AC unit. Ultimately, something heavy had hit the AC units top and the fan had cracked a bearing. A call to Service America fixed that fan, on our dime. The week without air was difficult. If theres anything I can recommend here, you must be firm about asking the workers to set up plywood or something so as to protect your house from things they may toss (or that may even fall) from the roof. I did see one or two shortcuts being performed when a piece of plywood wasn't long enough. A, extra 2x4 was tacked on to another 2x4 to allow the 'short' plywood something to nail into. Those items aside, we were thoroughly pleased with the end result. The tile job went quick, with an exceptional (we felt) Mortar job. The sub-contracted Gutter contractors also did an exceptional job on a single day, to install complete new gutters. We'd still recommend EJRoofing to others.. We obtained estimates for the fascia repair from 6 local roofing companies and narrowed it down Earl Johnston Roofing and a well-regarded competitor. Given that the fascia rot did not appear to be associated with any leaks into the house, and the relatively young age of the home (<10 yrs), it is unclear whether an up-close inspection of the problem areas was necessary (at least this is our possible explanation for why most of the roofers did not go up onto the roof). However, we were impressed with the thorough free inspections performed by Earl Johnston and the other contender (they did closely examine the roof and fascia). Both were confident that the extent of the problem was confined to the fascia. The Earl Johnston inspector took pictures of the areas (and additional issues discussed below) and clearly described the various issues with an ipad presentation following the inspection. In all honesty, it was somewhat a toss-up between these two roofers in the absence of a personal recommendation, but we will say that the Angie's list recommendations greatly helped us narrow down the field. Both were comparable in their fascia repair plus power wash and fungicide application estimate, so it came down to a gut feeling. That Earl Johnston threw in a free gutter cleaning at our request helped. We made our decision near the end of the week, and Earl Johnston was out on Monday. In their estimate they also had identified some regions of fascia that needed preventative caulking as well as a section of tiles that had slid several inches from where they were intended (wouldn't have known about some of these issues without an on-roof inspection!) We also had cosmetic repair of broken tiles performed. The power washing and fungicide application were delayed until the end of the week due to equipment problems. We were pleased with the fascia repair and roof cleaning. We did request that our original point of contact (i.e., the one who did the estimate) come back after all was said and done to survey the work. We've worked with contractors before, and simply assumed this would be offered, even on a simple job like this. A couple weeks went by without a response to our initial request, but we were busy and didn't think much of it. We called again this morning, received a call back a few hours later, and had him out at our house shortly thereafter. After he inspected the work and answered our remaining questions, we now feel comfortable writing this review. The office staff and one who did the estimate were very friendly. This customer-first attitude certainly contributed to that initial gut feeling. Those that did the repairs were also glad to answer our occasional questions. We would likely use Earl Johnston again for future roof repairs.

They were neat and effective. They did a good job. They cleaned up very well and were team work oriented. They didn?t do a lot of chatting and just got the job done. The men who work for him have worked for him for many years.

We had roofs/walkways/chatahoochie patio/driveway pressure washed a few months ago. All went well. We had to wait for a new sealing product to come in, one containing an anti-mold & mildew ingredient & 5 year manufacturer's guarantee, so they re-cleaned the roofs before application. All went well, they look clean & white again!

Had a leak in my garage for a very long time. I contacted Earl J Roofing after reading satisfied reports in Angie's. A Rep came out a couple of days later, gave me an estimate, and about a wk later my problem was fixed. Earl personally came out, saw the work, gave direction to his crew and left. He communicated that the tiles they had didn't actually match the colour of my existing tiles, and committed to getting as close as possible within a day - which he did. The tiles matched PERFECTLY, which I know for a fact is difficult. I am pleased. In South Florida it is near impossible to find an honest, quality operation.

I called and requested they come look at my roof because I was getting some leaking in the garage when it rained heavily. I asked they look at the entire roof and let me know every potential problem area they observed. I got a very reasonable quote compared to my expectations (especially with such an open ended instruction), and requested they do the job. They called the next week to schedule the appointment, showed up on time (8am) and ready to work, and finished the job (approx 3pm). So far so good, I am certainly satisfied with the service I received. Everyone I dealt with during the experience was very friendly and professional.

This is a real success story. From the first contact to the last inspection the company was always on time, kept promises, followed up on work and questions I had, overall a great experience.

Fixed a poorly installed roof. Did a great job. Quick and even though it was not a whole roof, they were excellent on customer service.

Estimate provided on 7/23/2010 during very rainy day. Estimator arrived on time and examined roof despite rain to check for loose tiles. Arrived late for work but called the day before to indicate that they would be arriving late. Work performed on 7/26/2010. Carefully checked all tiles and added adhesive where needed. Professional throughout. Since I had no leaks to correct, I can't vouch for the quality of the work. I will have to wait for the next hurricane for that. Hopefully, there will be no test of the work and this will just be some peace of mind insurance.

When they came to do the roof, they left some nails in the driveway which was my only complaint. There were also some loose tiles in the backyard. They did come out to fix the issues. Clean-up was the issue, but overall, I was satisfied. The price was covered by insurance due to Hurricane Wilma damage.

We have had a lot of experience with roof repairmen due to a combination of poor architecture and cheap workmanship on our home. Our experience with Earl W. Johnston roofing has, by far, been the best in the 11 years that we've owned our home. I left a message after hours to receive a quote and received a call back first thing in the morning. Mr. Johnston himself came and gave us quote later that day. We agreed to hire them to do the work under the condition that they could start the next day because we were going out of town. Promptly at 8:00am, the crew arrived and worked all day. Mr. Johnston even came by to check on the progress. Everyone I dealt with was extremely nice and professional. I even got a courtesy call about a week later during a heavy rain to make sure everything was OK. I have had this same area of my roof repaired for less money, but three years later the leak was back and this time damaged items in my house. I would rather spend more money knowing that the experience will be as stress-free as possible and the work will be done properly. I will definitely use Earl W. Johnston roofing again.

All toll, they came out three times. The first two times they were unsuccessful in finding and eliminating the leaks. In view of this, the owner personally came out with a crew to assess. Using his expertise, he found the leaks and provided his workers with specific instructions on how to repair; he worked along side them to finish the job. As we had just installed new wood flooring, it was imperative that the multiple leaks be repaired. My husband and I were happy with the result. Mr. Johnston was a pleasant man with a strong "customer first" attitude.

As far as service providers go this was an excellent experience. Their office was pleasant and professional and set up my appointment for a specific time and date and despite poor weather the estimator arrived on schedule and was very professional in discussing recommendations and options for the work I needed done without any hard-sell tactics. I was set-up for the job to begin in less than a week and their crew arrived as scheduled. The crew did all the work described on the contract to the letter and did so in a very neat and skillful manner. I was even happy with the post job clean-up. They completed all the work in one day as promised. When I need any roof work done Johnston Roofing will be first on my list.
