I think I used them based on Angie’s List recommendation. They did a great job for me. The owner of the company gave me the original estimate. Their price was reasonable and their work was excellent.

I called 3 companies from Angie's List, and this company beat the other 2 estimates by $300 and $500. They were prompt, professional and did a great job with both the leak repair and the cleaning. I am VERY happy with my decision to choose Earl Johnston and will definitely use them again and recommend them to others.

Very professional company, especially the owner Earl. I had a somewhat hard to find roof leak and the initial crew missed it the first time around. But eventually Earl came our himself, found the real problem and had it fixed. It ended up being a lot more work for them than originally anticipated but Earl stood by his principles and did not even contemplate charging more for it...Great company, unparalleled intergrity and great quality!Will definitely use them again!

I notice a small water stain in the same area that they repair a few months back. I called them back and they immediately sent the same crew back, no questions asked. When the crew arrived and inspected the water stained area, they informed me that it was possible that the original stain could have been bleeding through the paint due to the humidity. They also instructed me how to properly treat the stain to prevent it from happening again. They then went back up on the the roof to reinspect the area looking for potential areas of water ingress. They repair those suspected areas. The crew was again very nice, professional, and knowledgeable. Bottomline, Earl Johnson stood behind his word when he told me that he would keep coming back until the leak is repair. They were prompt, courteous, and dd not give me the "run-around". They responded the first time when I call, got me on the schedule, and sent someone out without delay. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I hope that I will never need their services again, but if I do, I will definitely use them again.

He was excellent. I even had neighbors come over to compliment the roofing. He was very hands-on and would go with to me to pick out the roofing and the color.

They came on time and seemed to work in a very professional.manner. They had all the permitts and paper work A few days later i got an invoice that was higher by 28% then the estimate. no one called me before to approve such a big difference.. i was a bit surprised. The estimate they initially gave me was similar to what i got from 2 other companies, however they seemed more professional The roof seems very good and the work was very clean, efficient and fast. from what i can see still i would use them again

He came at the time that he was supposed to come, and I wanted to fix parts of the roof, but he told me it was not necessary and he recommended me to wait for three more years to get my roof redone. He did not take the job, but he was really really good. As soon I sent them an e-mail, they called me right away and they made an appointment with me for the next day, so they were really fast, and Mike was the guy who came and he was awesome. He went upstairs and he checked completely and he showed everything to me. He was really honest because he said it is not worth changing the roof and nothing is going to happen to the roofing. He quoted $60,000 for the whole roof of my house. Their quality is very good because I know two houses that they have done roofing for, and I asked my neighbor, and he told me that they were awesome and very happy with them. They are really nice people. I would call them when I do my roofing.

He was awesome. He came at the time he was supposed to come. I wanted to fix parts of the roof, but he said it wasn't necessary. He recommended I wait three more years to get my roof done. He was really honest and didn't take the job. He was really, really good. He took pictures of everything on my roof so I could see it.

They did a very nice job. I like the way they installed the roof. They were very professional and I will use them again as needed. They now come every two years for preventive maintenance on the roof to make sure everything is still in good shape.

I originally hired them because they were rated highly. They got the work done really quickly. However I told them that I didn’t want them to come when I wasn’t home but they didn’t respect my wishes. They left nails all over my yard. There was also a severe lack of communication on their part as well. They didn’t even finish the roof when they said that they did. I told them that I needed the work done by a specific date and that I needed the necessary paperwork before then as well. However the date came and I had no paperwork and the roofing wasn’t even complete.

Always on time and gave full explanation of what they would do and they stayed with estimate price.

Sales Rep Alvaro came out to do the estimate. The estimate was for very common condition where the junction of a terrace leaks where it joins the house. This is usually do to having to redo the flashing. Unfortunately, he did not feel this was a roofing job and advised me to contact a painting contractor to put a sealer on the terrace. Note: the sealer is usually a do it yourself fix that I had already explored and decided to call a roofer since I did not want a band-aid job. I called two painters who said this is a roofing job correction and needs to be done properly, and that sometimes roofers do not want to do "troubleshooting" jobs since they have to guarantee them and possibly come back to redo at their expense.Alvaro was very professional and I am sure they do a good job with standard jobs with standard warranties. This warranty would have to have depended on the skill level and the troubleshooting ability of the job site roofer. I did appreciate the fact that he did not just charge me to do a job he was not comfortable doing.

This was my first time using Angie's List for a vendor referral and I couldn't be happier. I originally sought out local roofers from my neighbors, but all retracted their referrals the more they thought about it because they weren't happy with their experience overall. That brought me to Angie's List. There were several that looked promising, but after the immediate response and professionalism I received over the phone when setting up the initial visit, I had a feeling this was the company to go with. Earl Johnston sent out a project manager to give me a quote the very next day. Mike was punctual and very pleasant. He did a thorough inspection of the job and impressed me with the iPad photos he used when explaining the areas of the roof that were in need of repair. After walking me through the photos, he said he would need about 10 minutes to write up a quote that he would break down into the four different areas that were in need of repair and my husband and i could review the job as one big job, or decide to go with just one of the suggested repairs. After thoughtful consideration, we went ahead and agreed to do two of the four repair jobs. We paid a nominal 10% deposit over the phone to schedule the job and agreed to pay the balance upon completion of the job. When scheduling the girls couldn't have been any nicer. Within less than a week, a team of three guys were at our house (again on time) and spent a full day on the two repairs. They were very respectful of our landscaping and even asked if a palm frond could be cut to help get better access to the roof. Once the work was complete, they brought my husband out for inspection. The three did a wonderful job of picking up all of their belongings and trash associated with the work- you never would have known we had repairmen at the house. I would 100% recommend Earl Johnston to anyone in need of a roof repair. Although I hope it's not needed anytime soon, we will certainly call then again if we need anything done. Job well done. The experience with Earl W Johnston Roofing surpassed my expectations. After I phoned to get an appointment for an evaluation and estimate, I received a follow-up call a few days before the appointment to confirm. On appointment day, the representative, Mike Wilde, gave me a call to let me know he was on the way. One of the best things about this company---that don't give you a window of time they will arrive, they give you an exact time so your entire day isn't wasted waiting on someone to show up. Upon arrival, we discussed my concerns and Mike went to work checking the roof. I was impressed that he not only described my roof's condition, but showed me with pictures uploaded to his laptop. He gave me an estimate and explained it in detail. The company gave me a convenient appointment date and time following up with a confirmation call. The crew arrived as scheduled to do the work and worked diligently; I don't even think they took a break in the approximate 5 hours. They cleaned up the areas after they were finished. I couldn't even tell they had been here! I talked to the crew briefly after they finished the job and they were extremely nice; they showed me the rotten wood that was removed and we discussed the repair area. Everyone I encountered at Earl W Johnston Roofing, (office staff, Mike Wilde, and the repair crew) were truly professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. I would not hesitiate to use them again and will recommend them to others.

He did an excellent job. We haven't had any problems since he left. I have recommended him to several people for roof work. It was a good experience and the crew cleaned up very well.

A year ago, we hired Earl Johnston Roofing Co.to pressure wash and apply a sealant. The work was done 2/23/11. They used a new eco-product called Oxi Seal. It carried a 5 year warranty from the manufacturer, Simix Co. for the prevention of algae, mold growth, turning yellow or brown. The above price included the expensive product & labor on a 2 story roof. I'd gotten their name from Angie's List, and we were and are very pleased with EJ roofing Co. We made this investment because it would prevent the necessity of having the roof done every year, saving us money in the long run. By Feb. of this year however, our roof had gone from white to grey, looking as it had before the was done. I corresponded with Jamie, and they were very helpful. Came out with a rep from the Oxi Seal product for ph testing. Simix Co. could not give an adequate explanation or solution for the problem. Simix products are no longer offered, Oxi Seal did not work. I am so pleased to report that Earl Johnston Roofing stood behind the manufacturers guarantee, and came out 3/5/12, re-pressure cleaned the entire roofs, and applied a new sealant, white roof-a-cide, at no cost to us, and will continue a once a year treatment until 2015. In Feb. 2016 we will be hiring EJ roofing for $300. to clear the debris from the roofs & gutters, and apply the treatment. You should call 954-989-7794 for your quote, remember we have a very large barrel tile surface, 2 roofs. Roof-a-cide is also eco-friendly, is advertized to rid black mold, fungus and mildew, and the doorknob ad says "never pressure clean your roof again". Sounds good. We give Earl Johnston Roofing Co. an A+ in all categories, and highly recommend them!

WITHIN A FEW DAYS SOMEONE CAME TO HOUSE TO IDENTIFY LEAK, GOING THROUGH CRAWL SPACE AND AGAIN ON THE ROOF. PROBLEM WAS IMMEDIATELY DIAGNOSED AND PLAN OF ACTION WAS WRITTEN UP IN DETAIL. ALL PRINTED MATERIALS WERE ATTRACTIVE AND EASY TO READ AND UNDERSTAND. STAFF SET UP APPOINTMENTS FOR BOTH ROOF REPAIR AND POWER CLEANING AND APPLYING SPECTRICIDE. YOU WERE NOTIFIED PROMPTLY AS TO WHEN SERVICE WAS TO BE PREFORMED. WORKERS WHO PERFORMED SERVICES WERE POLITE AND RESPECTFUL OF YOUR PROPERTY. I EXPECIALLY LIKED VOICE MAIL AFTER HOURS WHICH WAS PROMPTLY ANSWERED THE NEXT MORNING.

We originally had issues with our tiles shifting from a past hurricane which was worry some, given that our roof was original. Mike from EARL W JOHNSTON ROOFING came out and did a thorough review of the roof. Mike steered us in the right direction and in just a few months things were in motion, old roof was coming off and new was being installed. Extremely happy with the professionalism expertise of the company and would HIGHLY recommend them.

We had a very positive experience with all the staff. They gave us the best estimate and best warranty for the roof replacement. Were always responsive to our questions. Got all the needed permits and completed the work on a timely manner. When I called them after they had completed the job about a concern I had they addressed it quickly. I would recommend them and use them again.

Performed an estimate for potential work needed on my roof. Another company gave me an estimate for $5000 worth of repair work. Earl Johnson Roofing said the repair wasn't needed! There were a few other smaller things that I could do by myself, and will with their advice. The largest part of the repair did not need to be done at this time and I was very glad to hear that. They saved me a lot of money! This will probably cost me less than $100.
